Amazing pizza, stellar staff, and phenomenal ambience. Highly recommended to anyone and everyone.

Delicious pizza! A little expensive for the size of the pie, but given that the location is far more convenient to me than other comparable options, I’ll still be there regularly. Glad they added a meatball option to the menu and excited for their new lunch options!

I’ve been really happy with the food each time. Ordered three different pizzas and all flavors have been good. This isn’t a heavy topping pizza that you find at the majority of your pizza places so be prepared if that’s what you preferred. The staff is great and I like the wine options.

So so pizza. «Antico-ish» in terms of how it’s cooked and that I had to google or ask about what the ingredients actually were(that’s a me problem not theirs). So we were excited to try it out. We went on a Sunday night and it was pretty dead so no wait. The young lady taking our order was more than a little snooty, but no big deal. Anyway, we got 2 pizzas which came pretty quickly and they were ok. In fairness, we «built our own» and went more«fast food pizza standard» with pepperoni as base on one and sausage on the other. We may have had a better experience eating something they crafted to take advantage of well thought out combinations. Maybe next time. So FWIW, all that considered, it wasn’t Antico. Not quite an apples to apples comparison, but to me it wasn’t as good as Avellino’s or Fellini’s either. A bit expensive for what you get I think too.

Great pizza! Pizza is the most important food group to sustain life. The only thing I can say remotely not positive is that there are more draft beers to try. A nice rotating group is recommended. I could eat here 7 days out of the week.

I tried Vero for the first time a couple of days ago. The pizza here is good. It’s nothing amazing, but it’s a solid addition to the neighborhood. If I went back I would probably just stick to the pizza. I went with one other person. We got their cheapest bottle of red wine, a small appetizer, and a pizza. By the time we left, we had wracked up a ~$ 100 bill. This seemed unnecessarily high for the meal and wine we had. The things that keep me from giving this a higher rating include the bizarre ordering process. This seems unnecessary since a server comes to your table to check on you and delivers the bill. The pizza topping are also very limited. Those things aside, it’s a nice addition to the neighborhood, and the staff was incredibly friendly. I would go back for the pizza and atmosphere.

I wish I could make this 3.5 stars. I wanted to like this place more, but the pizza is way overpriced for how small the pizza is. In my opinion, one pizza wouldn’t fill me up.

Pizza was pretty good, but best in the area — I will likely go back. I don’t think this was as good as Antico which is a good Italian pizza spot in midtown ATL. Portions are individual but you can definitely share a pizza between two people. The order process is strange. You walk up to the counter, order, and are seated with a waiter… Kind of strange but overall it’s a nice place. I had the tomato, mozzarella, basil pizza which was basic, but good!

Vero makes a nice addition to the neighborhood! Ordering process needs a bit of improvement for the over 50 crowd. Maybe a little sign to explain the process would be helpful, though I think most are used to this type of system so not a big deal. There is a good variety of starters and salads to choose from unlike the big A. We had the Mediterranean Chopped which was refreshing yet hearty. We had a couple of pizzas between the two of us; one prociutto and one meatball. Both were delicious though the unanimous winner was the prociutto. While we both love the Valenza meatball, a little extra sauce may have been what was needed. We ordered a couple of beers, though it seemed like they could drop the price by a buck or two on beer to match Avelino’s pricing. Not a deal breaker by any means. We had half of each pizza leftover to take home so could easily have ordered just one + a salad but like having leftovers and the variety. We’ll definitely go back!

The crust of this pizza has a great taste. When we went it was a little undercooked and soggy but the taste is amazing. And the topping are creative. This place has only been open a short while and it’s mobbed so either be ready to wait or come early or late. The workers are super friendly and efficient We met the owner, nice guy with a nice vision. A little more expensive that dominos but the flavor is much better.

After sitting at the bar and watching several cooks lick their fingers, pick their teeth and touch the food I was beyond grossed out. We left without ordering.

The pizza isn’t very good. I really like thin crust pizza, but this isn’t pizza. It’s a dough pie with a few sprinkles of flavor on it and they want to charge $ 11 to $ 15 for something one person can eat. The pizza is undercooked and they really hardly put anything on it. I left feeling like all I ate was dough with tiny hint of pesto and tomato sauce, nothing of substance or nutrition on it. Then there’s the service. They just won’t stop talking. Don’t come here if you want to have a conversation with those who come with you. From the moment you walk through the door they cannot shut up about their menu and ordering process and then when you finally order and sit down they hound you at the table about everything else they can offer. I just wish they’d deliver the pizza and stop talking. One benefit of the order and pay before you sit down model is that there is no need to tip them.

Least favorite pizza place in Brookhaven. Overpriced. My least favorite part of Vero is the ordering process. You order at the window, but there are still over a handful of servers. What? 1 pizza, small glass of wine, and small salad was nearly $ 50. And, the ceiling was leaking condensation on us and our food. Stick with Avellino’s.

Expensive lame pizza. Avellino’s had the fancy oven /small pizzas /clueless operators /customers market cornered. Not any longer. Learn your craft. You could park an F1 car in my garage, does not make me a race car driver. Nor does overcharging DINC’s make you a pizza parlor. Too funny. We have 3 crappy pizza joints within spitting distance, but no coffee shop. Awesome.

Since«Vero» is Italian for truth please accept this review as my ode to Geppetto as I want to be an honest boy. If I wanted a burned, undercooked pizza, I would stay at home and let my 12 year old cook me a Totino’s. This place has taken one of the simplest foods ever created and made it a weird, pretentious experience for the normal pizza lover. The only deduction I can make from my experience at Vero is that the DINCs(Double Income No Children) have taken over the world! They believe they are eating good pizza if they are told it is a good pizza? This is especially true for some if it is overpriced, in a cool location, and the Unilocal reviews are near 4.5 stars. We spent $ 46 bucks for a salad and two pizzas that literally were burned black! Not cooked dark, but burned. No one will ever be able to convince me that this is what Pinnocho’s forefathers in Italy envisioned when making pizza in a fire oven! The ordering process has too many steps, is manic, and included several mentions that«you won’t be able to find this kind of pizza anywhere else in Atlanta». Thank God! I am giving it two stars because I really felt the concept of non traditional ingredients was an attempt to «stretch the truth» about the usual pizza experience, but if the crust tastes like chewing a blackened log right out of the fire and the pie itself is so soggy that it taste like eating a wet noodle then I am the one who was lied too. Zero and I mean zero quality control by the expediter. Brown good, black disgusting. In a cosmopolitan city like Atlanta there has to be more! I can handle the truth, and in the future I will stick to my standards of not eating anywhere without at least 50 reviews AND asking the locals. That is no lie. If you don’t believe me just watch my nose to see if it grows.

So glad to have a great pizza place in the neighborhood! We went on a Saturday night about 7:30. We got seated right by the door, which was a little hectic but cozy. We ordered the vero salad, a few pizzas, and dessert. The vero salad is a MUST — I could eat it every day! It’s their take on a Greek salad — finely chopped with fresh herbs and yummy pickled onions. It pairs extremely well with the pizza! For our 3 pizzas, we went traditional margherita(tomato sauce, mozz, fresh basil), mushroom(ricotta, maitake mushrooms, garlic), and sausage(tomato sauce, fennel sausage, rapini, pesto, and Calabrian chili). The margherita was good but the mushroom and sausage were exquisite. In fact, the mushroom may be my fave, despite the sausage pizza being a riff of my fave Valenza’s orecchiette dish next door. I highly recommend both. Don’t forget to ask for a dippy bowl of olive oil for your crust! Yum! We split 3 pizzas among 4 adults and only has 2 slices leftover. The pizzas aren’t huge and the overall crust isn’t too thick so definitely order more than you think you need — you can always take it home. Dessert: CANNOLI. HOLYSMOKES. Please order these. One order comes with two small cannoli, easily splittable. The cannoli crust is hands down the best I’ve ever had — it was light, airy, flavorful and reminded me of an elevated funnel cake in terms of taste(not texture). The filling was smooth, creamy, and sweet — very light but decadent. I highly recommend! The kinks with the pizza from opening night(too much char on the pizza, bland tomato sauce) seem to have been resolved in a very short time. The pizza should have a light char — that’s the point — so please don’t send it back if yours has a little on it. That’s what makes it good! A few logistical notes: while there is valet, Vero does not take reservations. You order at the counter and find a seat. This is NOT the place to linger on a long date or with a big group of friends — the line has been out the door both times when I’ve been so in order for people to sit, you gotta move on once you’ve eaten. The good news? Valenza and Haven have fab bars great for lingering and delicious dessert menus and coffee great for winding out your night so my rec is to eat pizza here and then move quickly next door for more catch-up/coffee/dessert(or walk across the street to Kaleidiscope, yet another great bar with terrific beer options). If you’re in a big group, I’d recommend getting take out from Vero and eating at home — Vero is a very narrow space and not really suited for parties bigger than 6(ideally you’d come here with 4 peeps or less). It’s also really loud in Vero so in a large group, you won’t hear one another(I struggled in my group of 4). And while you can order Haven’s food in Valenza and vice versa, you cannot order Vero into Valenza or Haven. Enjoy this delicious addition to Brookhaven! Yummy!

I’m a huge fan of the other«Word of Mouth» restaurants. Michel Arnette has done an exceptional job at Haven and Valenza. But, Vero misses the mark. The restaurant is very pretty on the inside, but… the process of ordering and paying before you are seated and get your food is not what I expect from this group. Being asked to tip the servers before you are served is not good policy. Also our group declined to order more drinks or dessert because we didn’t want the hassle of pulling out our cards to pay again. The pizza is good, not great. We ordered the Burrata and it came out cold, as an appetizer, without any bread. The server told us we could use our pizza crust. Again, this misses the mark. Expectations were so high for this new pizza place. We were disappointed. We hope they can change a few things to make it a better, more relaxing(we want to hang out) place.

Wonderful pizza place in Brookhaven with excellent service. No reservations, so you order your food and drinks at the counter, which they later bring to you. Drinks are provided at the counter upon ordering. It’s a little odd, because if you’re not familiar with the menu, which we were not, you hold up the crowd by looking at I and discussing it with the counter peeps. Whatever. After that, it’s smooth sailing, with excellent service equaling that of their sister restaurants, Valenza and Haven. We started with the seasonal vegetables, which were seasoned and baked in the oven. Absolutely delicious. My wife had a white pizza with mushrooms, which was very good, but a little garlicky for my taste. I had a margarita type with some kind of spicy Italian sausage, which had some heat and good flavor. I loved mine. My wife then ordered a cannoli for desert, with pistachios on one side and chocolate on the other. She was in heaven. It’s a smaller restaurant, so i imagine this will be hard to get in to, as it picks up steam. I’m glad we were able to get in when we did. I’m sure it will be a problem in the future!

Phenomenal Pizza, We lived in Europe for over a decade and this Pizza with a capital«P» reminds us of the old continent. You can taste the care that goes into this pie. The place however is not stuffy old school, but super buzzy cool American. We are lucky to live in the neighborhood and we will be back regularly to enjoy the tasty, crispy, doughy pie and the apps. Do not miss out on the tiramisu either. Small portion but very tasty. Service was seamless as well. Happy to have this new addition to Brookhaven’s culinary scene.
