The Kroger Company

I’m not sure what I experienced is just Brookhaven Kroger or if it’s the entire chain.
1) I have bought 10 day expired yogurt from them which I discovered after I finished eating it. I have also had to bring back 3-​month expired flour (i’m not kidding!!!) to Kroger (but that was a different Kroger). I have seen expired products for sale (and some on discount) on numerous occasions at the Brookhaven Kroger (I go there at least one a week).
2) I am writing a review here coz of what I just got from them. The snow crab legs were on discount so they cost $ 6.99/lb instead of $ 8.99, however, the weight of the legs went from 1.22 lb to 1.42 lb. See my pictures.
Based on what I’ve experienced, I have to say Kroger is not very honest. I know, even wholefoods’ got scandals but try being more honest if you want to become more upscale.

Lets all be honest… this Kroger is fire.
The good: Clean, well kept, OPEN 24 HOURS, large organic section, salad bar, hot bar, FROYO BAR, make your own peanut butter, walk up pharmacy, SAMPLES MOST OF THE TIME

When I moved to this neighborhood a year ago, they were renovating and extending this Kroger. During that time I didn’t like to going to this Kroger, because they had two section cutoff except for one narrow path. But I am so glad they made the extension. This Kroger is huge!
Everything in this Kroger is arranged neatly and given adequate space to navigate around unlike the Kroger on clairmont rd and buford hwy intersection. They have so many aisles dedicated just for the Organic foods. Also the fishes, especially Tilapia, are always on some sale — manager specials. Sometimes, you could grab two big filet of Tilapia for just under $ 2. Sometimes you also get items that are usually cheaper online, for price less or in par with online rates. Other day I found lodge cast iron pan for $ 19, which was cheaper than price on amazon (including the amazon prime). So these days, I check at this Kroger first before buying something online. Why wait, if you can get something immediately for the same price?
I buy produces from here when I’m in hurry (i buy most of mine from Buford hwy farmers market) and it’s always fresh. The staff at this Kroger are extremely helpful. One time, I had to buy some hazelnuts (for my no bake nutella cheesecake) and i couldn’t find it in any aisle. So I checked with a staff, who tried but couldn’t find it himself. Finally they called store nutritionist, who spent another 20 minutes looking for hazelnuts just for me. We did eventually find it.
I never thought I would say this about a Kroger but this branch is clean, maintained well and staff here are friendly.

Short trip home and had reason to go by the finally done, now snazzy Kroger. It is huge!
Impressive results after a long and aggravating wait. It is probably double the size of its former self with all the same things I mentioned before.
This shopping center is a hive of activity pretty much all the time and just keeps getting busier thanks to things like this new Kroger (the new Willy’s doesn’t hurt, either!).
Great flower selection, good product placement and still a really awesome candy aisle, along with the cheese section, produce selection and prepared foods.
Nice to know I have this a few streets over when I am back in town!

This Kroger just was renovated and expanded and it is awesome. They have one of the best selections of natural and organic foods. They still need a better organic produce selection but overall it’s better than other locations.
The store is very well laid out and has been clean and we’ll stocked every time I have gone. The only issue is the parking lot. It is difficult to navigate and can fill up quickly.

This store has really been upgraded over the past few months. The selection of products and produce has been greatly expanded, and the staff (particularly the nice woman behind the cheese/​olive station) is very friendly, helpful, and will let you sample everything. The only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars is because they are still rearranging/​finishing the parking lot (which can get a little crazy, especially at rush hour). Overall, very pleased.

Awww this place is finally upgrading massively. Had been coming here for long time. If you have kroger plus card, you receive coupon in mail for stuff you buy most so do get that (its quick n free just ask anyone). I always have something to get free. This shows I shop alot here. Staff is great. Quick in and out. Can’t wait to see what will the finish place has to offer. More choices and variety.

Knock Knock… Kroger raise your game the Publix down the street is new, cleaner, nicer, well lit and has super friendly staff.
With that said i like your selections and I know where stuff is. Just get better and compete

This is hands down the best Kroger I’ve been in with regard to a friendly staff, clean store and good selection. Unfortunately I should have known better than to try the hot bar for dinner.
I’ve never been one to trust Kroger produce, meat or ready to eat food but this Kroger seemed like such a step up from the rest I thought I’d give it a try. Woops! Not one of the items I brought home were fresh and I ended dumping the $ 7 worth of food down the drain.

This store is a living breath contrast…
–The store is pretty large, yet they have a limited produce selection
–The store looks new and clean, yet some of the items on the shelf are near code
–The parking lot is huge… But it is always EMPTY
–The employees… well I won’t even go there
I want to shop here because it is close to my house. However, being a grocery store snob, I have to continue my quest for a better place to shop. This store just has no life to it. I will continue down the road and find a store that shows me it wants business.
In a pinch, this one is open 24 hours, and will do for the basics, hence the 3 stars

In my 40 or so years of living in Atlanta and shopping in Buckhead, I’ve probably visited this Kroger store about 5 times.
Im alway impressed by how uncrowded this store is. Maybe im going at a good time, becasue others say this location gets busy.
Fresh salad bar is great. The bakery has always had samples out.
Cashiers are fast and friendly

I can’t say that I am too pleased with the Brookhaven Kroger. I only go to this store because it is block from my condo, sometimes I take the extra time and money to drive to Publix in Buckhead where I can find fresher produce and meats.
One thing that really gets to me about this Kroger and others is their self checkouts. The software/​hardware on these things are so out of date you would think we are still in the 1990’s. These machines ring up your items fine, but the touch screens don’t work all that well and it is difficult to checkout. Also, when using a self checkout you can’t scan your coupons (like you can do at Wal-​Mart/​Publix/​Target); you have to give them to a cashier when you can find one. The whole self checkout process is not that great.
I would not really recommend this Kroger unless you live close by.

This location is pretty busy but the lines never get out of control. They have 6 self checkout registers.
My favorite part of this Kroger is their floral section. They always have a told of flowers and plants. They are often marked half or more off.
In a shopping center with a post office, restaurants, Starbucks and other food places.

Everyone deserves a friendly, neighborhood Kroger. While mine unfortunately doesn’t have the distinction of a nickname, I’m pretty sure «Runner’s Paradise Kroger» would suffice based on the number of people who stroll in post-​run from the Peachtree Running Company next door.
It’s a pretty good Kroger to boot. I’m generally pleased with the quality of the produce that’s out and it’s rare to find that something you so desperately want is out of stock. Even better is that 99.99 999% of the time, everything you want is on sale. Any time I can leave with over 15 bags of groceries for under $ 150, I’m grinning ear to ear. If you dine on organic food, it’s a Garden of Eden. Not quite as well-​stocked as a Whole Foods, but generally everything is world’s cheaper. I’m certainly not complaining when the $ 6 tub of coconut milk ice cream is sold for $ 2!
The staff is always super friendly as well and they’re always ready to provide quality customer service. Take last week for instance: Woman calls to say a man is in the parking lot trying to sell a stolen box of cereal (no lie). Immediately security is on it. Love it.
Only downside? People wanting to turn left out of the lot. Upside? I can walk here. Take that, modern America and your silly use of vehicles!

I find the other reviews interesting. I go to this Kroger because it’s convenient and generally Kroger’s prices seem lower than other chain grocery stores (on the basics). As I’ve been getting more into cooking, I’ve had problems finding the specialty ingredients I need at this store. Also, I try not to buy produce here because it spoils quickly and on several occasions I’ve discovered moldy berries and other produce while shopping. Yuck!

Why do I love Kroger’s over the other food stores… I get more for my money! Each time I have priced the different between Krogers selections to others Krogers always seem to come out on top.
The food buffet is hhhmmm goood and the specialized pizzas are the best for a Sunday’s night home stay. The selections are always fresh here. We don’t have a Krogers up North but this place should make its way to Washington, DC.

Not too bad. Whenever I buy my hardcore groceries, I come to this place since everything is neatly shelved, and everything is adequately stocked.
Plus, when you walk past the fish section, it doesn’t smell like a witch’s coochie after selling her goodiess on the corner of Peachtree and 8^th Street.
Parking isn’t bad here either. But turning left from here heading South on Peachtree sucks a big one, especially during rush hours.

This store has redeemed the Kroger name. I almost gave up on Kroger… until I found this store. Most Krogers I have been to have dirty and shabby stores, questionable produce, and not the best customer service. This one is completely different. The store is clean with a plentiful and diverse selection. You can see employees cleaning and arranging and the store ambiance is bright and welcoming. You can get your basics as well as some hard to find items, like Haagen Dazs RESERVE ice cream (I love the Amazon Valley Chocolate) and McVities Digestive Biscuits. Their produce is fresh and the selection is plentiful. Kroger has good sales and I go out of my way to get to this one. If only more Krogers were like this…

Update… they did a little more remodeling and hired a few friendly workers. They actually have gourmet breads now with a self serving slicing machine. They still need to work on their meat department and deli. They ned to go out and recruit some publix employees for customer service. I added a star for effort
