If you are looking for vintage housewares, this is your place! I purchased a silver plated martini shaker/server and a chrome 1920’s pop up toaster, that works fantastic. He also has tons of vintage photography items and barware. He had some beautiful chrome antique blow dryers, I didn’t know there was such a thing. I didn’t have as much time as I needed to look through everything but that was probably a good thing for my wallet :)

Was here about 5 – 6 months ago and the place is still amazing. Lots of new stuff since my last visits(that’s a good thing). If you are in this area is definitely worth a stop to check it all out. Like I mentioned last time the hours a bit unregulated so I suggest you call them first too make sure they are open!

I drove an hour through some insane traffic to get here, and it was worth every single mile of it. This place is small, but don’t let the size fool you. It’s packed full of goodies for the vintage aficionado. The longest wall on the right size of the room is completely lined with every version of vintage cameras and projectors. There was a large collection of vintage postcards featuring actresses like Jane Mansfield and of course Marilyn. It’s considerably lighter now, thank you very much! The estate jewelry collection is diverse and well priced so I treated myself to a few of the gaudier pieces. I also pulled a beautiful purse from the deep bowels of the back closet. I had to dig for it, but that’s part of the thrill for me. And the owner? He’s very southern and very hospitable. He also has fantastic taste in music. There was some classic Aretha playing when we walked in. He’s very fair with pricing. I had picked up an old western belt for my son that had some damage to the leather. I didn’t really mind because I am giving it to my child, but he adjusted the price some when he saw it. He made me an incredible deal on a hard-to-find World Fair poster because the frame was cracked a bit. This is one of my favorite spots in Atlanta. It doesn’t hurt a bit that it’s right next door to another favorite, Scarlett loves Rhettro.

Great place to go antique shopping. The gentleman there was very quite at first, but very friendly if you needed any help. It’s a small place pack full of gadgets and gizmos from various decades. I loved it here. So many things to look at! It can be a little difficult to move around in since it’s so full of wonderful vintage things. I’m definitely planning to go back!

I stopped in this weekend as a thrifting adventure along Ponce. First, its important to know its different than the store next to it. I almost didn’t go in because I thought they were the same. I’m glad I did though! For any allergy sufferers, you should probably be warned. Its pretty dusty, and I wish I had a mask. The owner was sitting behind the counter as we walked in, and didn’t say much. He was like a wax figurine at first. However, we started pestering him with questions about prices after looking and touching almost everything in the store. And he had a great sense of humor. I believe he owns it with his wife, whose name is Kathleen or Kary anne. starts with a K. It was printed on a flyer, and I jokingly asked him if he was Kathleen. He laughed and said, no, that’s my wife, and showed us a Polaroid of her that he keeps on the board behind the counter(aww). He said the previous week a conservative old lady had come in and asked him and he trolled her by showing her a picture of a drag queen. she said ‘OHMY’ and left. LOL what a great sense of humor! Anyway, there’s a good number of quality, albeit eclectic, things here. I saw a lot of vintage fancy pants rotary phones. It might match your house if you have marble and chandeliers or very Southern. Also a big collection of old cameras, Nikons, Polaroid, etc. And a lot of handheld silver mirror/brush sets. I used to work in a Southern wedding venue and they had a lot of similar sets. Glasses, more trinkets. Ashtrays that kinda look like a bird water fountain? We found some great earrings($ 3) and jewelry, it involved some digging. I found a decent Hickok tie/cuff link set for $ 12. Also, the owner packed up my $ 3 in an individual bag, which isn’t cost effective for him, but so sweet! I said I didn’t need one, but that thoughtfulness has really stayed on my mind. Overall pretty nice aside from dust, I liked it and will return.

Great antique store! I was a bit overwhelmed when I stepped inside, but it was great walking through all the items the store had to offer. If i had my own apartment, I would have purchased a few items. The prices were pretty cheap as well and the owner was very helpful.

Tucked away right next door to Scarlett Loves Rhettro… I think Scarlett loves this one a little bit more because the amount of great finds in this tiny space is incredible. The man at the register(owner, I believe) was super sweet and charming, chatting with my friends and I as we browsed through table after table of fun jewelry. There isn’t much in the way of clothes, but when it comes to unique housewares, trinkets, boxes, and baubles, there isn’t much better in the area. So glad I noticed the small sign and figured out that it wasn’t SLR next door that owned it or my friends would have never found so many cute items to take home with them!

i loooove this place. but then again, i’m a sucker for antiques and random thingamagiggies. who doesn’t love seeing old ladies’ razors from several decades ago? but anyway — this place isn’t so much vintage clothing although they have a pretty sizeable batch of eclectic jewelry. some of it is stuff i’d find at claire’s, or cheap stuff, but others are pretty decent or could be modified to make it more«today’s fashion» or whatev. i thought everything was really very reasonably priced(the necklaces were $ 3-$ 6) and the owner was willing to bargain with me. there were these two opera glasses(at $ 85 each) that looked amazing; i was suggesting to boy that we pick up a pair for his folks, but considering they were from end of 1800s, early 1900s german and french design, we figured they might actually have a pair already… but yeah. small place, right on ponce, inbetween another vintage shop and your typical 60s black barbershop. go there, leave amused, possibly happy.

This place has items your grandmother would remember when she was a kid! I swear I’ve paid to see these same things before. The staff or owners. I don’t know which they were obviously love what they do and love to talk about what they have. Definitely drop by. You will be surprised by what you see.

Wow, what a bunch of sheeot. However, sifting through crap you can find neat stuff. So, we go in after having driven by it a million times(one of three businesses on a little cluster next to an abandoned Krystals). Immediately we are struck by the smell of OLD(plus dust and, I suppose, some mildew for good measure). LOTS of stuff packed into a very small space. However, we walked away with: 1. A mahogany silverware box(that the owner kindly cleaned up the outside for us) 2. A pink«Princess» trim-line phone for one of our little princesses at home that will be going to college next year. And, yes, with a rotary dial(can you believe that the kiddies haven;t seen one before?). One extra star for playing some AWESOME big band music whilst we were there. We’ll be back once we move in-town and occupy the house we are renting — they have reasonably priced furniture, too.

Trinkets and knicknacks galore! You need to take at least 5 trips around this small shop to see all of their wares, and even then you’re surely missing something. Plus, it takes that long to converse with the friendly shopkeeps anyhow. Trolling through the Fainting Couch is much like going to a garage sale: trash and treasures up for sale right next to one another, all at the same low price. Who knows what you’re going to find? I walked away with a pair of cool mother of pearl earrings and some hammered Coke glasses to complete my set… all for $ 9. If you’re into old school photography, you need to get to this place. Vintage cameras on top of cameras, all looking for new homes. Also had some really cool barware, old photos, and jewelry.

This antique store on Ponce is a very odd place. I felt like an intruder inside someone’s crowded attic, sifting through old photos and dusty furniture. The shop is cluttered with hand mirrors, old-fashioned phones, pictures of Marilyn Monroe, feathered hats — a variety of bizzarre merchandise. This is by far the most eccentric furniture store I have ever step foot inside of. My roommate and I stopped in here during our quest to furnish our apartment. I wound up with an interesting painting for only $ 25(believe me, it looks like it’s worth more). The old man who owns the shop is friendly and willing to bargain. Keep in mind the store is small and easy to pass by. I recommend it to those with a taste for unusual, old things. The Fainting Couch is certainly unlike anything at IKEA.
