The Ed and Dora Voyles Breast Health Center

I went to the Ed & Dora Voyles Breast Health Center for my first mammogram. The Center is located on the first floor of the building and there is plenty of seating in the waiting area. The registration process was smooth, but as usual with a doctor’s office, there was a lot of paperwork. Some of the paperwork can be completed prior to your appointment but there are still a few sheets requiring signatures and initials.
The screening process runs smoothly as well. You change into a hospital gown, your radiologist comes to get you and then you get pictures taken. I have to say that as awkward as it was having a stranger lift and place my breasts and arms in unnatural positions, the radiologist was so calm and courteous that I relaxed fairly quickly.
For a first time, this is as good as a doctor’s appointment can get. I’d come here again for another screening when the time came, even though parking is $ 5. (There is a lot to the right of the building, and it fills up fast. There is other parking for the hospital, but they would require a longer walk.)
