The Colour Bar Salon

Got balayage and haircut done with a Groupon voucher. Scheduling the appointment was easy and the location is easy to find using Waze. They have reserved spots on the retail level of the condo.
The place itself is really cute and I really liked the set up. It’s organized and flows better than a lot of salons. I was really happy with my color and cut. They even give you a small gift bag with some samples and coupons. The fruit infused water is also a nice touch.
My stylist was great and I def see myself going back for my touch up.

Such a fantastic salon if you are looking to add color to your hair. When you walk in, they ask you to change into a robe, provide you with a beverage, and they even have snacks (YES GAWD)! The stylist provides a thorough introduction of the technique they are going to use and make sure you are comfortable before they start the process. After they finish the color, they wash and blow out your hair and then provide you with a small gift bag on your way out. I know… I was shocked too when she offered me a gift bag. However, I can definitely say I loved the color of my hair. I got a balayage treatment (balayage — kissed by the sun — or fancy way to describe highlights) and I love it! I have already booked another appointment for 2 months from now to return back to the salon. I highly recommend trying this place out and fill out a card that says that I referred you :)

Heard about this salon through my sister and luckily enough saw a groupon for a haircut + balayage. The salon is super cute and clean. It’s been about 6 months since I last got my hair colored and it looked awful. But thankfully enough, Torrie came to the rescue! She was super sweet and friendly. Definitely did not disappoint! I’m seriously so obsessed with my hair. I’ve been getting so many compliments on it. Can’t wait to come back!

Krystel is the absolute best! We met in Alabama and I’m so excited to be reunited with her in Atlanta. This lady handles scissors with surgical precision and won’t let you leave her chair until you are completely satisfied. She’s the best and if you can get an appointment with her… hurry and enjoy the process. Don’t wait — book an appointment with her now!

i started first getting my hair done here not too long ago. Ive been 4 or 5 times. Krystel does my hair, she a very nice person and easy to talk to, everyone is smiling and is professional. There is usually a tv with runway fashion shows on while my hair is under the dryer, i love that.

I’ve been getting my hair done at Colour Bar Salon for a couple of years now. The salon is super clean and the staff is very friendly. My stylist is Krystel and she is absolutely AMAZING. She is extremely nice and her work is fantastic!!! My hair is always what I want and I never leave disappointed. I highly recommend Krystel and Colour Bar Salon.

Krystel has been doing my hair now for several years. From sew ins to color she is super creative and incredibly talented. She challenges me to go outside of my comfort zone and I adore her for that.

Tried several salons after moving to Atlanta, but have been a loyal customer since my first visit. I actually like my Highlights and Cut soooo much — glad I took Krystal’s advice and tried something new. I’m even

Morgan Romine is my colorist/​stylist at The Colour Bar. I am a «mature» client with very fine hair that gets finer every year and Morgan has changed it completely. We’ve let it grow longer and she introduced me to some incredible thickening products and I am now actually getting compliments on my hair! Everyone loves the longer length. The salon is decorated so cute and it is very clean and everyone is so friendly… a very welcoming atmosphere. I love the actual colour bar where all the color is done. It is very high tech. My hair looks better than it has looked in a very long time and I could not be more pleased. I am headed there now for my appointment!

This is a great salon with reasonable prices. My sister and I both go to Morgan. She is amazing! Both my sister’s and my hair look better than it has for years! It is a very beautiful salon and the shampoo chairs are the most comfortable I have ever experienced!

Let me start off this review by saying that I am VERY picky about who I let touch my hair. Torrie blows me away EVERY time! I’m high maintenance about my hair and she gets the cut and color right every time! She already knows what I want but always asks if I want to switch it up just to make sure! I will never go to another hair stylist again! All of the other stylists are super friendly and professional! The décor is beautiful as well. You instantly feel relaxed when you walk in! Ask for Torrie at The Colour Bar Salon; I can assure that you will be in good hands! I always leave with a smile on my face!

I love Morgan! She is the absolute best. I was desperate to find a salon that could fit me in on the fly one night and she was willing to stay late to help me out. That was back in the fall and I have gone back every time since. The atmosphere is great, the team is very outgoing and friendly. They help each other out all the time. One day I was on a tight schedule and the owner offered to wash my hair before my stylist came in so that the process would go quicker! Talk about GREAT hospitality and service! I have gotten color and a cut twice but I have gone to Morgan for 5+ blow-​outs! Never disappointed!

I love how Krystel Nicole took the time to understand my hair and talk to me about what I wanted. She’s a true example of customer service — it was all about me.

Krystal cut my hair and she did a good job. She was really friendly and personable as was all the employees there. The shop is clean and nicely maintained. The only thing that bothered me a little was that at some point Krystal told me the cut was $ 60 and when I went to check out she said she misquoted me it is actually $ 70. I thought that was odd that she didn’t know the price of a cut. Other than that great place.

This salon is wonderful, and Krystal is awesome! I found this place after doing extensive research on Unilocal.My hair needed serious color touch ups and a cut… my roots were not cute. I wanted to try something new, and Krystal was attentive and offered her expertise to help me find a color and cut that I was happy with. I love my haircut and I will definitely be returning to The Colour Bar! The entire staff is friendly, and once again Krystal is a true professional whose passion for hair is evident. I highly recommend! I just moved here and have trust issues with hair salons. I trust Krystal completely!

Moved to Atlanta a year ago and needed a new hair salon, among other things. I found the Colour Bar Salon online and decided to try it out and am so glad I did! The salon is top notch. Everyone is accommodating and friendly. My stylist Melissa is awesome. She knows her stuff and does exactly what I ask. She listens to what I ask for and gives feedback. I appreciate her honesty and advice, because sometimes what I may want is not necessarily what works for me. One year later, still very happy and have regular appointments. Check it out, you won’t be sorry!

I came in here early on a Saturday for a bang cut and what grabbed me was the professionalism. I was asked exactly ever I wanted. I didn’t have to wait. The salon is clean! I have been to some dirty salons in Atlanta. I will totally be back for a full cut and possibly blow out. When it’s not crazy hot like it’s been lately.

I have had my hair cut and highlighted here several times. I love the atmosphere and Melissa is great!

found out about «the colour bar salon» through randomly browsing groupon for deals.
the salon is very easy to miss at first visit. they’re somewhat hidden within the big, tall condos,“serano”, which is right off of abernathy road. it’s literally right next to the 400 S ramp.
I like that they use the «vagaro» system. for those who have never heard of it, it’s basically a site to book appointments for salons and spas. thus making it easier and convenient than having to call and schedule via phone. also, with vagaro. you receive both text & email confirmations and reminders.
my experience here has always been friendly and welcoming. there are a total of 5 hairdressers, including the owner. therefore, the salon feels very intimate and personal. for the most part, I’ve had good experiences here, but let’s just break down some of the pros and cons…
[ PROS ]
— I love the concept of how clients can choose how their receipts are given to them. you can «go green» by having the receipt emailed to you OR getting a physical copy printed for you
— complimentary beverages are offered for clients
— there are fashion magazines and a fashion show on the their tv for viewing, while you’re waiting
— there’s background music playing so it’s not just dead silence in the salon
— the hair products and equipment are high-​quality
— environment has a nice color scheme and gives a very relaxing feel
— staff really listens to your ideas/​visions for your hair
— they have their own parking level in the garage for clients
— they offer «olaplex» for hair bleaching = huge thumbs up
[ CONS ]
— salon is considered «luxury”/“upscale» and so are the prices
— the high prices are not only limited to services, but the products they have out for sale
— coupons and certain special offers are only for first-​time clients. there’s none for the returning clients aside from referrals

Disappointed.
Well, the first time I went in, I got a great haircut and perfect highlights. Naturally, I returned.
The second time she really didn’t listen to what I wanted. At all. The highlights were too dense (specifically asked them not to be) so it looks like my hair is dyed rather than highlighted. The haircut was a disaster. She angled the hair forward instead of tapering from front to back, like I had asked. The layers are uneven and not blended well from the back layers to the front layers. I returned for a correction and while they were friendly, she just still didn’t listen and seemed impatient. Then she tried to explain by saying that a lot of people like their hair angled forward. Well… that’s the opposite of what I asked for. The layers are still not blended well, so I will have to pay someone else to fix it (love paying twice for a haircut). Some of the layers are almost an inch off from each other when you look on either side of my face.
Maybe she had an off day? I wish she had taken the time to listen and to understand the hair cut and color that I wanted especially if I took the time to return for a correction.
