Taqueria Acapulco is in the same strip mall(Sam’s Crossing?) as Bamboo Luau. Their menu is standard taqueria fare: tacos, burritos, tostadas, etc. Tacos are $ 1.49 and they’re generous sized portions, though the tortillas are a bit heavy and can actually overpower the taste of the fillings. The al pastor meat is very good; the grilled chicken is competent, and the barbacoa is a not-so-good version of the real thing that tastes like it was made in a crock pot. Tacos are generally served with a salsa verde and a chipotle red salsa which are very good. The chips and salsa that are complementary are pretty awful, though. Both taste store-bought, Kroger-bought even. Overall, Taqueria Acapulco is a decent spot for quick and cheap Mexican food. It’s worth checking out if you live or work nearby but probably not worth driving out of one’s way for. There are much better options on Buford Highway and elsewhere to satisfy one’s taco cravings.
