Southern Comfort Movers

DO NOT USE THEM UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES! They are NOT bonded, licensed OR insured! They ruined over 75% of our belongings — NEVER even used the furniture pads! UNPROFESSIONAL! Did not even give us a bill of lading. They BROKE THE LAW! They have SEVERAL complaints if you dig deep enough. We filled out a claim and they went on radio silence, did not return emails, calls and now we were forced to bring in the authorities. AWFUL experience for an already stressful out of state move.

I used Southern Comfort Movers on 7÷31÷15. The office staff and the moving staff couldn’t have been nicer. I moved from a 2 bdrm apartment to a 2 bdrm condo about 3 mi apart. That’s where my only complaint comes in. The move took almost 8 hours. I’ve had an entire house moved in that length that of time, so was a bit dismayed. Yes, they wrapped all the furniture, mirrors, etc and even though that adds to the cost, everything arrived in good condition. I had budgeted approx. 4 hrs for a move this size, so the checkbook took a big hit.

I will start by saying everyone was very nice personable at this company, everyone was nice over the phone and in person.
Southern Comfort movers were not able to finish our move on the original scheduled date which was a Wednesday. We were assured that they have a full afternoon free on the following Friday to come finish the move and we made an appointment for them to come finish the move Friday at 2:00 PM. We agreed on their hourly fee on that Friday with the main mover (Evan). I noted some damage upon the furniture of the couches and dinning table and was assured that once we file a claim they will send someone to fix the damage very quick. Everything was going well by this point.
The moving crew was over EIGHT hours late on Friday. They were scheduled to arrive at 2PM and instead arrived at 10:30 PM. Evan, who was the main mover informed me that they took a last minute job that morning that took them hours and hours and made them late for following appointments. They loaded our furniture to their van that night with the promise of delivering the furniture the next morning by 9:00AM. I had to work the next morning but Evan assured me they can get the furniture to me on time. The next morning they did not arrive until 11:30AM to deliver the furniture. I was willing to overlook all the delays, bad communications and bad business practice of taking new jobs when already booked, since I was relieved to have all my furniture at this point. I paid the movers for the second day’s fees (and tips) and they left.
After the deliveries I filed a claim report and sent it to the email given to me and received a response that they got my claim. However, since that date for 2 months I have made calls, left unanswered voicemails and emails, and empty promises to give me a call back (when I actually got a hold of someone). No one contacted me and my damaged furniture was never attended to. I filed my claim within all the correct parameters set by the moving company and had paid them in full but they never got back to me.
When you contact Southern Comfort movers, they are very very nice and try to help when they can but I would not use them. They charge the same prices as other moving companies around town, I lost 2 days of work due to their delays and now have damaged furniture that was never fixed.

Evan and his team are the best of the best. You can not ask for any better. They are honest, dependable, and treat your home and items like they belonged to them. My industry calls for movers all the time and I always recommend them. I have sent them a ton of moves and no one every has anything but rave reviews.
KUDOS to a great company and people

I have moved a lot and employed my share of movers but I am sure glad I used the services of Southern Comfort Moving Services for my most recent move! I coordinated with them down here in Atlanta and flew 700 miles north to meet them to pick up my belongings to bring down here. They got up north a little later than I would have liked but they got right to work on loading boxes and wrapping furniture. The supervisor was very courteous and made efforts to handle risks (i.e. tightening screws, packing the truck so things didn’t get damaged, reviewing my storage unit prior to moving my things in it, etc.). The laborers were very respectful and efficient. The unload the next day was great and went quickly so I was pleased. I plan on using them again when I take my belongings out of storage.
I was hesitant to use them at first because it took a while to get the paperwork and I was concerned about their physical address but I highly recommend their services especially if you are doing a long distance move like I did.

Wow — these guys are good. I’ve had a number of unfortunate experiences with movers, but this definitely wasn’t one of them.
I scheduled my move for a Thursday afternoon. First off, these guys were quite a bit less expensive than the other quotes I got. I was a little hesitant at first, but after seeing the recent positive reviews from other Unilocalers, I decided to go ahead with these guys. They called to confirm my move ahead of time, which in my experience, a lot of companies fail to do.
They arrived on time and with one more guy than we’d agreed upon. No complaints from me. While I talked with the crew leader about my move, the other guys got to work. No dawdling or wasting time — these guys were efficient. While I’d budgeted for 4 to 5 hours for my move from Kennesaw to Midtown, these guys finished everything in 2.5. I’d call that a win. Nothing was broken and everything made it to the new location.
The only negative that I can think of is when it came time to pay, their credit card machine wasn’t working. So I had to dig through things to locate my checks. A bit of an inconvenience (especially if they knew before we started that they were having credit card issues), but not a deal breaker.
Southern Comfort made this my easiest move to date. They are highly recommended!

Yes I am STILL a fan, just used Southern Comfort for the third time to move and replace my entire bedroom furniture set on Fri April 26^th! The uniformed 2 movers sent out were timely, courteous and very efficient!
They met me at a warehouse to pick up my furniture, packed the truck, followed me home, unpacked my old furniture, unloaded my new stuff and set it all up as I’d requested.
I’d also setup up my moving date with Evan again and he had everything ready, gave me a follow-​up call to tell me time of arrival. This was a simple move for the most part but I keep choosing Southern Comfort because they deliver results. I have also recommended them to friends who’ve recently used them as well and were pleased

Buyers beware! The address listed here isn’t the company address. This company isn’t even registered with the State of GA. I found out the hard way after using this company for cross country move. If you are lucky and have no issues/​damages with your move, then go ahead, but you are in for a load of trouble should you expect them to make right any damaged items. There’s a reason why the contract looks like it was done on someone’s home computer and doesn’t include any language about what they will do if they damage your items. Buyer beware and ask lots of questions up front. You should be wary of any «company» that won’t tell you who owns it or what there actual business address is or how to reach anyone but the front man who’s cell number is listed everywhere. In fact, he wouldn’t even tell me his last name. Go figure. I learned the hard way. You get what you pay for. Better to go with a national company who has a more complex contract but will actually strive to serve you because they are more than 2 – 3 people.
