I had to get a replacement card and didn’t want to send my passport in the mail, so off to the SSA I went.
This location just opened in June. It’s pretty efficient. Upon entry there is a kiosk where you check in. They spit you out a number. From there you can sit in the cool air condition waiting room til your number is called. Gone are the days of long lines and risk of waiting only to go to the wrong window and having to start all over again.
I printed out the forms I needed online, but I couldn’t figure out where to get forms if you needed them. Also, my wait was still about 40 minutes. Not really an issue since you can sit and wait, but make sure you are not in a hurry. Also, they always close by 3 pm which would pose a problem for many working adults.
