The mission of Smart Cookie Education is to help 3^rd through 12^th grade students who have ADD/​ADHD succeed in school and in life. Most such students are very intelligent and capable, yet struggle to work up to their ability levels in school. The key to these students’ success is their learning strategies and techniques that will allow them to address their specific needs and difficulties while still being able to learn the same content and complete the same assignments as all other students with whom they attend school.

Smart Cookie Education specializes in ADD/​ADHD tutoring, including help with study skills and organization and academic area help. We help students learn self-​regulation strategies designed to help improve their executive functioning skills. In the spring/​summer of 2016, we will add ADD/​ADHD coaching to our service offerings.

Meet the Business Owner

Larkyn S.

Business Owner

Larkyn founded Smart Cookie Education in May of 2015. She has 12 years of experience teaching students from preK through eighth grade, and is a certified teacher in Georgia. Her areas of certification include early childhood education, special education, ESOL, and art. Larkyn has a Master of Education degree in early childhood education, and has seven years of experience teaching students who have learning disabilities and ADHD. Her specialty is math, though she can teach students academic content in all subject areas. She also loves to teach students study skills and organizational skills. She has taught in public schools, private schools, and charter schools, and is excited to begin this new venture!

She will begin pursuing certification as an ADHD coach in September 2015, and will complete this designation in May of 2016. Larkyn also holds an MBA from Brenau University with a concentration in project management.
