Worst Egg Foo Young EVER!
I had been craving egg foo young all morning and when I found my favorite place was closed for the NYE holiday, I decided to give Simon’s a try. Horrible idea. I ordered the food to go and was pleased to see it was ready when I arrived. Once back at my office I was first surprised there was not a cup of delicious gravy packed separately — not a deal breaker. I opened the to go container and inside was a small cup of gravy, fried rice and 2 egg foo young patties — chicken. I should have known something was amiss when I looked at the patty and it was so light.
The rice was flavorless. Again, not a deal breaker because usually I cover the rice and patty with the gravy. Usually, a restaurant will give you gravy in a container that holds soup so there is more than enough. Not so here. The gravy tasted weird and that sucks because the egg foo young was awful. It wasn’t flavored, there were no onions… it was literally eggs and chicken fried. I could have did that myself and saved almost $ 10!
I have had egg foo young from a lot of places and this, by far, was the worst I’ve ever had. EVER. I”m not sure I would give them another chance because this was so bad. I can’t even bring myself to eat the 2^nd patty. Based on this experience alone I’m giving them 1 star.
