Primal

Went on a Thursday night: Ladies night, International night, College night and all that. Paid only 10 bucks for the which was reasonable. Parking there is $ 15 so I said «[exp] that noise» and took it to the side street. Nice little lounge area in the front (that one prankster guy, Isaac, from the Real World Sydney cast works the bar) and a pretty spacious dance area that actually had seating for general admin. folks.
Using the Redbull standard, which were $ 5 there, I can only imagine that drinks would have been fairly expensive.
I swear every club has the same soundtrack. They always play that DJ Kool track at the same time in every friggin club I’ve been to. And Soulja Boy and
«Back dat ass up». However, there was a DJ in the front room playing some Latin tracks but since the front area is more narrow it’s kind of like –nah playa.

Kolloborations was holding a mixer here at Primal so it was an event night. Lots of people were here in result of it. Patrons were getting crunk and girls were dancing on the bar that would’ve made their mom turn red… LOL
Primal is very spacious. They have an outdoor patio, Sky bar, and three different rooms.
Only thing that bothered me is that the go-​go dancers didn’t seem like they wanted to dance or they didn’t know how to dance. The girls dancing on the bar danced better. Maybe the go-​go dancers need to take lessons from them… LOL

So I know I’ve been out of Atlanta for a good amount of time (hitting on 2 years now) but I’m SURE this was a Gay club when I left… Sorry i just had to put that out there at first.
When I come back to Atlanta on infrequent business trips I have to hit up all my friends that still live there. They practically assure me that Primal is the place to go. Unfortunately I had to meet them there at 2am because I got caught up but they only charged me $ 20 to get in. Now if this was NY or anywhere else I’m almost positive it would have been in the 40 – 60 range so I’ll eat the cover. PACKED AND LOUD. That’s all I can say about the place. Everything else was a complete blur. Good amount of mixed patrons and the drinks were good enough to get me pretty gone by the sound of the bell at 3:30. All in all a pretty good time but nothing that blew me away.

No fun

My ears are still ringing almost two days after visiting this joint. The normal cover charge for this place is $ 60 for men and $ 40 for women. Coats can be checked at the door for $ 5. Valet parking is $ 20. Not the safest option, but most people just choose to park on some of the neighboring streets. The only reason I went is because one of my friends works as a hostess and she got us in for free.
The club has a very diverse mix of people. The crowd is mostly mid-​20-​somethings. There are two levels to this place. The first level has a main dance area, with VIP sections roped off, and another area with a bar in the center. The second level has the «Sky Bar» with an outdoor patio.
I went on a Saturday night and this place got wild. I’m not a big club goer, but Primal definitely has the loudest speakers of any club I’ve been in. The special guest DJ the night I went was Taryn Manning. Girls were dancing on the bar, passing out drunk on the couches, one guy got a beer bottle smashed right into his face, face and shirt bloodied, cops came and cuffed two assailants, one girl was puking her guts out on the carpet at the entrance, while another guy was on his knees begging his girlfriend to forgive him. All in all, a very entertaining night.

The most disorganized ridiculous place I’ve ever been. The people handling the door at the front have NO idea what is actually happening inside… Once inside the people at the cash register have no idea what the people at the door are saying…
DJ’s were awful.
There was literally, I kid you not, a «fern-​gully rave» for 17 year olds going on when we were there. «What does that mean?», you ask… a bunch of 12 year olds running around with glo-​sticks and fairy wings… Ummm… 1991 called and they want their «rave» back.
Oh, in another room their was the Atlanta’s Swingers Party going on. That’s fine — whatever floats your boat… but we were all literally being hit on by swingers all night.
Awful — never ever again.
