I have taken both of my children to Dr. Powell for years. He is a wonderful dentist, who does excellent work. Only one cavity between the two of them and that was filled painlessly and expertly. I would not hesitate to recommend him.

Dr. Powell said my son had two cavities and needed fillings. I personally brush my son’s teeth every morning and night and he does not have a high sugar diet, so I took him for a second opinion with my dentist (who also sees pediatric patients). My dentist said he doesn’t like disagreeing with other dentists, but he said he didn’t see any cavities on his x-​ray or with visual inspection. My dentist showed me the x-​rays of a different child (identifiable info hidden) who had a cavity develop over the course of two years. He showed me the early indicator of the cavity on the x-​ray, and next year’s x-​ray showing how the site got larger, it was the third year before the child needed a filling and the child was not complaining of pain during that time and there was no abscess. My son’s x-​ray showed nothing like the early indicator or developing cavity. It only cost me $ 44 for a second opinion (insurance wouldn’t pay), but I saved my child the pain of the unnecessary fillings and exposure to the nitrous oxide and other harmful chemicals involved with the procedure.
