Park Cleaners

Geez! I should have read the reviews before taking my dress, which I only wore twice to weddings, to this establishment. When I brought it in, I pointed out ONE spot in the left front of dress. But when I picked it up, there were multiple ringed splashes all over the front of the dress. She said that she wouldn’t charge me (how nice was that??) and that I should take it to a speciality cleaner to get these splashes out. Really? The dress is now ruined and she basically dismissed me with a wave of her hand and acted like she didn’t understand the English language. (What a cop out) Don’t bring your dry cleaning to this cleaners!

To make a long review short I agree with Paul H.‘s review, however if you’d like to learn about my experience with Park Cleaners I have detailed it below.
I used Park Cleaners for the first time on Monday, 01.13.2014 to launder and press eight shirts. They told me that the price would be $ 1.75 /​shirt. When I went to pick my shirts up this morning, 01.16.2014, they hit me up with hidden specialty charges claiming that shirts with «special buttons» and «slim fit shirts» require a special pressing procedure.
I challenged the lady that mans the desk that she never explained these fees to me up front, but typical of someone who knows nothing about customer service she reacted by being defensive claiming that their service is superior to all other dry cleaners in the area and that comparing Park Cleaners to other cleaners is «apples to oranges». Apparently we can’t compare a hamburger at McDonald’s to one at Wendy’s nowadays either, right?
I instructed the lady that she needs to inform her customers prior to dropping off their clothing about their price structure to which she looked at me as though I was speaking Klingon… Suffice to say, I will never visit this cleaner again and will be warning all of my fellow residents in our condo building away from this cleaner at our upcoming HOA meeting.

I’ve used these cleaners for 7 years. Until recently they’ve done good work, however of late they seem to be making more and more of my shirts «hand press» shirts — many which really don’t require hand pressing (rather than machine pressing?). To clarify a bit about these shirts — shirts with thicker buttons such as Bugachi require hand pressing. The hand press charge is $ 4.50 per shirt. The hand press charge has crept into my regular shirts to the point that today — a number of shirts that they’ve simply always in the past charged a regular price for — shirts that are simply shirts with white plastic buttons — they charged me with a hand press charge. I had 30 shirts and the price for laundering these shirts was over $ 110.00. There was no one there who had any authority to make any adjustment.
UPDATE: I decided to give these folks one more chance primarily because they’ve been so convenient all these years. I took down a tux shirt to be laundered and specifically requested heavy starch. They DRY CLEANED the shirt. Seriously. The woman at the counter called another clerk/​person and as I explained that a cotton formal shirt is NEVER dry cleaned but always laundered starched and hand pressed, I was told that they have to do whatever the boss tells them to do. Anyone who thinks they have to dry clean a tux shirt should not be in this business. Gotta find a new cleaners.

This business currently has a Better Business Bureau complaint pending against it, and will not offer any reimbursement for items that are damaged there. I suggest you take your business elsewhere. The people who work there are quite nice, but the owner will not budge when it comes to reimbursement for damaged goods — even when the pay out amount is relatively small. This is pretty uncommon. Be sure to always check with your dry cleaner about what they do in the event of damaged or lost goods! And try to find out where the clothes are actually cleaned. This particular establishment uses a facility on Moreland.
