These are definitely some of the best gyro’s i’ve had in the south! And the owners are so nice! I also tried one of the baked chicken entrees and it was really good as well… but the gyros are the reason to go to this place. Some tips: this is a take out place that takes cash only!

So the outside of the restaurant leaves something to be desired, but what I found on the inside made up for any reservations I had. I went in for a takeout gyro plate to test the waters at this establishment, and I was pleasantly pleased by my experience. While I did not get very adventurous in my takeout selections, I took the time to speak with the gentleman behind the counter, and he was a wonderful host for my short stay. A quick takeout order turned into a very pleasant conversation where Jimahl(forgive me sir if I have already forgotten your name) took the time to brew some mint tea for me as a unexpected treat. While what I ordered was nothing extravagant, the gyro, rice, and salad were all fixed with more care than your average takeout experience. The food was better than I expected, and I will be returning. Just a very pleasant experience.

My friend brought me here a couple of weeks ago and I’m glad he did! I just got back from my second visit and once again, great work Oasis! I haven’t tried the wraps yet, but yes the gyros are simply the best. Also the woman that works there, Houda(sp?), was the nicest person. She also made me some tea that was out of this world. Thanks!

My review may change. This is more for info for others. I just went there hoping to find a close, nice hole in the wall gyro place. Walked in asked for a gyro. It was Sunday. They don’t sell gyros on Sunday, they only have Indian food. I was already there so I figured I would at least give it a try. It wasn’t very good. It also wasn’t what I wanted. If you want a gyro don’t go on Sundays. I’ll still give a gyro a try when I get a chance an I’ll report back then. If you do go on sundays, don’t get the catfish curry, the catfish stew, or the beef curry.. .. I guess that leaves you with eggplant curry?(they had 4 entrees). There wasn’t much selection at all. Blarch. The guy behind the counter that others have mentioned is a nice guy. None of the prepared sides looked appealing(I told him I just wanted the beef curry — no sides). He went back at made a side salad, and gave me a side of rice. I ate more of the rice than the beef curry(around a 7 oz serving — 3.5 of which was bone).

This place is a hole in the wall, I will not rate it on atmosphere or ambiance, or on appearance. I will only rate it on the gyro which I ate there. I went in this past Saturday, and there’s an old man somewhere behind the counter dilly dallying, and you don’t expect much. At least I didn’t. The old man asked me if I was familiar with their menu, I said I was not, then he said they had gyro, and then showed me some catfish. The catfish didn’t look especially appetizing so I went with the gyro. The old man went and cut down some gyro meat form the vertical spit. He asked me if I wanted my gyro spicy so I said sure, he put on some jalapeño yogurt/tatziki sauce, and some feta cheese. He took his time preparing the gyro. I did not have cash, and he doesn’t take credit card, so I had to run to the Kroger across the street to get some cash. He felt bad about me having to go get cash, and he prepared some tea for my wife(no charge). So, now, to the gyro. The Gyro was pretty amazing. I don’t know what else to say, it was loaded with meat, the jalapeño sauce was absolutely money, combined with the feta, my mouth is watering thinking about it. I can’t speak for any of their other dishes, but if you want an amazing gyro experience here in Atlanta, just get past the exterior of the place and let this sweet, kind kind man prepare for you one of the best gyro’s you’ll ever have.

A crazy thing happened. I was on BuHi and was not in the mood for Asian or Mexican food. Scandalous! What to do? I remember driving past this place a while back, and decided to check it out. It pained me to be that close to Lee’s and not get a sandie and iced coffee, but like I said, needed something different. It is a funky little corner spot off Piedmont run by a kind-eyed man who made one of the best gyros I’ve had. He gives you a choice of whole wheat bread(that seemed homemade), heats the bread and meat on the grill, gently crumbles goat cheese and veggies and sauces over the grilled bread and then piles on TONS of MMmmmeat. It seemed to be an Eritrean hangout where men are greeted with«salaam» and hang out drinking tea. And listening to Aretha Franklin, no less. OH, and NOCREDITCARDS. Cheers~

It was a hella-cold day in Atlanta today, in the 20s outside when my friends and I entered this place, feeling adventurous and willing to give it a shot for dinner based on the two 5-star reviews here on Unilocal.Either the heat was low or the insulation was bad, but it was freezing inside as well. Kinda made it tough to enjoy the food while wearing my puffy winter coat. This place is the epitome of a hole in the wall — four or five small tables, not much ambiance, just a view of the kitchen in one direction or the parking lot of Kroger in the other. But as Lee said in her review, the man behind the counter was very friendly and seemed to take a lot of pride in his cooking. I wouldn’t call the gyro the best one in Atlanta, however. Maybe it was an off day, the cold weather messing with the aura of gyro goodness or something. The whole wheat pita was dry, almost crumbly and busted apart as I tried to eat it. The meat had good flavor though and seemed to be a generous portion. It was just okay. Had the fries as a side and they were over-cooked. I wanted this place to be a really good find, but unfortunately I wasn’t feeling it tonight.

I love eating here! The staff is very friendly and the food is extremely good. They serve gyros, fish, salads, chicken wings, and several different side dishes. My favorite is the baked salmon with beans, rice and a freshly prepared salad. The owner takes great care in preparing the meals and often times will prepare you a nice cup of tea while you wait for your food. The tea is made with fresh mint leaves! You won’t find this type of service or food at any chain restaurant! I go here as often as I possibly can when I don’t cook myself. Great food and a friendly environment. Its great!!!

The gyros here are the BEST I have ever had in Atlanta and the prices are very much reasonable. I was very pleasantly surprised at the taste and freshness of the food here. I always get the gyro with the rice and salad. It’s soooo good! Also popular is the fish, falafel, and favre beans. The falafel is made from scratch and delicious. They make a jalapeño sauce from scratch which is very unique and tasty! It’s not spicy for me, but then again I am accustomed to spicy food, but you should try it. My brother told me about this place. The ONLY way that people hear about this place is by word of mouth. The exterior is somewhat modest but it is in no way an indication of the quality of the food within. The owner is very friendly and old school! He doesn’t do ANY advertising and I think more people need to know about this place. They don’t accept credit cards so you must bring cash. It is located across from the Kroger and in the same lot as the dollar store facing Clairmont Rd.
