No Mas! Cantina

Jordan was pretty cool and was over all a good server must come again. I had three drinks and they were all great.

My daughters and I enjoyed our dining experience and received excellent service from Jordan.

Great food, fun atmosphere and great staff. Also, everyone gets a prayer bracelet after dinner.

Went here on Saturday, we were seated upstairs and our server stopped by about 15 mins after we were seated. We came in for Brunch and I was less than impressed by their Brunch menu as it was heavy on breakfast items and not many lunch options. In fact if you wanted lunch you needed to order off their lunch menu.
I ordered the Mocha Tamarindo to which the server replied «that’s gonna take a while» ummmm ok so should I not get it? It was as if she wanted me to order something else or nothing at all. We ordered the breakfast quesadilla and a bacon, cheese, and avocado omelet. My husband asked about the home fries to which our server responded «its like waffle house» so if you like those you will be fine. OK
My drink came about 10 mins after I ordered it, the person dropping it off said to me «mocha» and I said no the «mocha tamarindo?» he then said «oh yeah that’s it I made it right but I forgot what is was called», OK
It was hot and in a dirty mug when I tasted it there was nothing life changing or different about this drink… it was a mocha.
Once the food arrived the omelet had little to no cheese and old avocados. We waited and waited for our server to return and she never came by to check in and see if we needed anything. In fact my husband wanted ketchup and I wanted some butter for my biscuit which was dry and hard, I have had better biscuits at Bojangles.
We asked another server (after waiting about 20 mins for our server to come back) to bring us some ketchup. She was working with a large party and was so sweet and apologetic about our service being less than stellar. In fact she is the reason I gave them one star (well its the minimum I could give them).
Our server came by after we were done eating and asked if we needed anything. This place is a fake me out Mexican place that relies on its décor to symbolize Mexico. The food is not worth the trek downtown and the service will not allow me to come back to this restaurant! Spend your $$$ for better Mexican food elsewhere.

No Mas! is a fun part of Atlanta’s Castleberry Hill neighborhood, a place I often overlooked when I lived in ATL, but that I wish I had frequented now that I’m gone. What this place has no shortage of is character, ambiance, and the thrill of feeling like you’re in a cool architectural splendor that meshes Old Mexico with an über-​cool industrial/​city vibe. However, I can see how others mention No Mas! as growing very cacophonous as the day turns to night. During a weekday lunch, however, the decibel levels were acceptable, and conversation with a normal voice was not an issue.
There was a nice garden variety of Mexican and Tex-​Mex items on the menu. Although nothing blew my socks off in terms of spice or outstanding flavor, it was a well-​rounded dining experience that would certainly please the masses. I definitely recommend starting your meal with some of their excellent queso dip! One thing I miss about GA is the queso blanco that permeates seemingly all of the Mexican restaurants. The queso pairs wonderfully with the sturdy chips, and you can have it made spicy (or do the peppers on the side) if you wish.
Our waiter was VERY nice and took the time to listen, offer suggestions, and definitely worked hard for his gratuity. Our order was delivered really quickly, showing they know how to turn the lunch crowd.
They do have a lunch-​specific menu with nice prices — we opted for a massive lunch burrito with half beef/​half chicken for only $ 8.99; the chicken and beef were both a bit dry and over-​cooked, but the tortilla was fresh and the rice-​to-​bean ratio was well-​executed. We also had the Lunch Combo and chose a steak taco and a pork tamale, along with two sauces (Verde and Guajillo) for only $ 9.99 ($ 1 upcharge for the steak). Again, the steak was a bit over-​cooked, and although the Verde and Guajillo sauces were nice complements to the meats, they could have packed more spice. The tamale was pretty darn good, though.
Parking was easy for us in their large, private surface lot. It also appears as though they have a lively area for nightlife, as well as a good deal of merchandise to purchase, plus a breakfast café. Lots to do here at No Mas!

I normally don’t write bad reviews, but No Mas is very lack luster and the food is not good. Don’t waste your time at this cantina, there are so many other great Mexican restaurants in Atlanta. The price of the food and the taste are not equivalent.

I recently visited Atlanta, GA this week and was refered by my hotel shuttle driver. My driver raved about this place so i desided to give it a try. I tried the stake fajitas. I must say the food lacked flavor. No seasoning on the stake and the only vegetables in the fajitas were onions. The home made flower tortillas were delicious but a little thick. The rice had a nice flavor but the beans were terrible! They had a can food quality to them. The salsa lacked spice… zero kick and no salt… sorry, Im Mexico so i know what good Mexican food is supposed to taste like and what i had was just ok… i guess I’m pretty spoiled being from Southern California. The restaurant itself was beautiful, very cool vib… they just need to step it up with the flavor.

My very first time coming here and had the great Pleasure of meeting Chester Barbozoa, who was extremely friendly had excellent customer service his interpersonal skill are awsome as well he made me and my friends feel at home. Chester Barboza should train the new employees at no mas. he really exemplifies what it means to provide great customer service.

I loathe this place. Whenever friends suggest this is where they are going I politely decline the invitation. It’s loud which I can deal with somewhat but the drinks are weak, very weak. This is clear that is the practice as on our two only visits I sent drinks back due to the heavily priced item. In addition, the food is meh yet ridiculously expensive. Last but not least, the wait staff is a train wreck

I went to No Mas Cantina to visit with local childhood friends. I did like the vibe of the restaurant. I also enjoyed the ample parking. The food was OK, but then again I am not big on Mexican food. The neighborhood can be a bit sketch if you wander a bit too far. I thought I knew my way back home, but apparently not so much. Just across the highway, I was in a not so nice neighborhood and was getting approached to buy drugs. Yikes! Got out of there pretty darn quick. Stay close to the restaurant!

Amazing food, service, and drinks! Johnny was our waiter at the bar and he was impeccable, as was every other employee we encountered. We got the special of the day (blackened shrimp tacos) and they were amazing. We will definitely be back. Out experience could not have been better! Tip: if there is a wait, sit at the bar.

Staff was very friendly.
I ordered a fajita veggie taco on a soft corn tortilla. The spring mix lettuce was pretty brown, the veggies were sparse, and the tortilla tasted like it was never heated. I took one bite and didn’t eat any more. I also ordered a side of refried beans, these were not at all good. Again, I ate only one bite. I won’t be going back.
I would have rated No Mas one star, but the staff was friendly and helpful.
Restrooms smelled quite bad.

It gets 2 stars because the ambiance is so live and festive. But the food below mediocre. We were very disappointed.

Good drinks. Mediocre food that’s overpriced. Good service though. I’d definitely return for drinks, chips, salsa and queso. Probably would pass on the entrees. Either way I’d try them out again.
For clarification: Money isn’t the issue. The quality of what is offered in conjunction with the price is what I do not agree with. For the prices I expect a better quality of food. The size of the restaurant as well as the parking lot is great. I have no qualms with that.

For years, my partner and I had heard about this restaurant. So when we had the opportunity (this past Saturday) to take the Atlanta Movie Tour, we wanted to hop over and see what everyone was talking about. This day was in celebration of my other half’s birthday and I wanted something out of the norm and special.
Well, to start with, it’s a bit of a confusing set up. From best I can tell, it’s three separate dining spaces and a shop. We arrived about 1:30pm. When we arrived, I needed to use the restroom. I was unsure where it was, and I asked a staff member. He simply pointed into the shop. (Not a lot of help.) We walked into the the first restaurant off Walker St. The sign said to «seat yourself.» I’m certain we looked puzzled but no one came up and asked to assist. So we walked to the patio and took a seat. Again, no one came up to assist. So we went into the first dining spot and asked the bar tender if they were open for service. He said that they were doing brunch on their side and full service in the other dining room. So we went to the full service location.
The setting and the decore were nice. It seemed to be going well and we were seated promptly. The Hostess greeted us and seated us promptly. Our waiter came and took our order. I had the Enchiladas De Espinaca and my partner had Pollo Relleno. Both were certainly good. My Carne Asada was tough and chewy. Now mind you, I never expect Carne Asada to be an «amazing» cut of meat, but I do expect it to be tender. It was not tender and was not nearly as flavorful as the Pablano Chicken. At this price point, I would expect both dishes to be something a bit more special. Again, they were not. The rice and the beans were probably the most special part of my meal.
Where they seem to drop the ball is service. My partner (at one point) dropped his fork. He stopped the Host as he came by and let him know. Another fork never arrived. In fact, the Host disappeared to the Host station. My partner went off and took one from the servers station. Our waiter was friendly and polite. He conversed and was great when he was there. But it was far from attentive. There were huge swaths of time where we saw no one. I don’t like to have servers to trip over you while you’re eating, but it would have been nice to have your water cup filled at least once.
So … we came, we tried and we likely will not be back. That’s not to say that it was a «horrible» experience but here are simply to many places in the Atlanta Area that specialize in Mexican and Mexican Fusion. No Mas was simply OK…

Today was the day of the dead so they celebrated with a band, face painting, a photo booth, tarot readings, and sugar skull painting. The restaurant décor is amazing. Along with comfortable booth seating. I had the fajita feast and the horchata brought to me by an amazing waitress (I forget her name.
The horchata is a nectar so water it down if your not used to it being sweet like me. Also the queso dip that comes with the check in offer is a good size and you can add jalapeños. This is my new favorite for Mexican food in Atlanta. Can’t wait to try the drinks.

Had a wonderful Sunday brunch here last week. In ATL to celebrate our anniversary, I wanted a delicious, unpretentious meal on and picked No Mas Cantina. It couldn’t have been better!
We arrived at 12:15 to find hardly any diners yet — always a plus when so many Atlanta establishments have long brunch waits! We ate outside on the quiet deck and the landscaped grounds feel like a mini Mexican oasis in the middle of the city. The décor was spot on for a Mexican hacienda; comfy equipale leather-​crafted chairs, stained glass tiles and hanging lights made from woven fishing baskets added to the charm.
Our server was chill and helpful and our food delicious. I had the blue corn hotcakes with passion fruit butter — ask for extra, that stuff is amazing! — and I had a big mug of Mexican hot chocolate too, with delicious cinnamon and vanilla accents! My husband enjoyed asada y huevos — a perfectly seasoned skirt steak and eggs and a steaming mug of café de olla, Mexican coffee with cinnamon and cocoa.
Don’t go in hurry. The Sunday vibe is relaxed and a slower pace. Exactly what we were looking for. Now I want to return to try their dinners!

So I’ve been here a few times now as I work and go to school right down the street and my most recent visit was even more pleasant than the last.
The staff here really takes care of you here and I respect that as a successful business. As we walked up the doors swung open like we were celebrities and we got our happy hour spots right away. The bartender and a few other gals were tending to us for several hours and they were just awesome.
She kept our chips full and our drinks on point. She recommended and even made special drinks for us. I had a regular mojito that had a hint of cranberry in it and a coconut mojito after it. We also ordered the hot queso dip, twice. It was that good.
When my buddy hinted towards her that the happy hour drinks were a little small, she even brought us extra. So awesome. She definitely got a nice tip because she earned it

I discovered No Mas Cantina in the winter of 2007 – 2008. None of my friends had any idea about the Castleberry Hill neighborhood, let alone about this restaurant. I don’t know how I discovered it, or why I decided to go to brunch, but from that moment on it became a frequent stop for me and my friends. We went plenty of times, usually just for a good hearty breakfast but we also held a bridal shower here and I even took my Mom here when she was visiting for Mother’s Day one year! Many of my best memories in Atlanta take place at No Mas, so I decided this was the perfect place to go with a group of girls for brunch over my bachelorette weekend.
The restaurant is exactly as I had remembered it. It’s a huge, huge space and it’s never crowded. We always wondered how they stay open, and I think it must be that it’s much more popular for dinner. But the space is GORGEOUS! You walk in and are immediately blown away by the bright colors, authentic décor, beautiful paintings and intricately designed wood furniture. It does not at ALL feel like you are in downtown Atlanta; it feels like you are at a Latin American getaway. The Mexican brunch menu is pretty much what you would imagine — the dish options are heavy on the salsa, crema and chorizo. I ordered the chilaquiles without beans (it comes with corn tortillas cooked in salsa verde, topped with 2 eggs, queso fresco and crema Mexicana), which I don’t think I had ever ordered in the past (I usually stuck with the Southwest omelette). I so totally regret straying from what I know, because I was so underwhelmed by this dish that I was served at a place that I hold so dear to my heart. There were way too many chips compared to the other components of the dish, and it felt overly salty. I kick myself for that. We also checked in on Unilocal and got a free appetizer of the queso blanco, which is big and delicious, as always. (They give you complimentary salsa and chips for brunch, too, and the salsa is pretty great… not overly spicy and has quite a lot of smokiness to it, which is somewhat unusual.) My sister ordered the No Mas! Original Capirotada French Toast, which she loved. It’s a bread pudding that is made with cinnamon, apples and raisins, that is then sliced and prepared as French toast and is topped with honey and whipped cream. It is obviously quite decadent, and it was presented beautifully on the plate. If you have a sweet tooth, you would probably really dig this… it’s basically dessert for breakfast. And, finally, the drinks! They have a lot of cool coffees and hot chocolates, and also a few good choices for mimosa flavors. I got a mango mimosa, and it was very good.
They have a store in the back of the restaurant called No Mas Hacienda which is really, really cool. I know they have their own Unilocal review page, but I feel like I should just mention it here because it makes coming to No Mas more of an event, rather than just a place to grab some grub. They sell everything and it’s all really cool — jewelry, purses, furniture, barware, arts and crafts, etc. The vast majority of it is homemade, and most of it looks distinctly Mexican /​Latin. I purchased some really cool homemade Frida Kahlo earrings there many years ago that I still wear to this day, and, I discovered, that they still sell! And finally, the garden area. This didn’t exist when I used to be a regular, not that I did any gardening back then, anyway. They sell all kinds of handmade terra cotta pots and planters that are just gorgeous and SO inexpensive!!! They have every size, including some pots that were literally just a smidge smaller than I am. And they look very well made. One of my friends tried everything she could think of to get some back to her apartment in NYC but shipping costs a flat rate of $ 200, which is steep for pots that are very much not that expensive. If you are looking for any type of pots or planters and you live in the area or can drive the stuff home, you should probably go here immediately.
I know I’ll be back to No Mas, and I encourage this big olé beautiful restaurant to keep on keepin on. I’m going to throw it out there that this is probably the best brunch in downtown Atlanta, so it’s a great spot for tourists who leave and thereafter go to some of the big tourist attractions. And also Mexican brunch is so legit — so much delicious flavor! Just skip the chilaquiles like I should have. *Smacks forehead*

No mas no mas!!! Literally! Maaannn… this has to be the worse Mexican restaurant I’ve ever been to. My enchiladas were so BLAND! Left much to be desired. I was with a party of about 50 and many complained about their food. Also, don’t get their shrimp, they don’t devein them… unless you like them that way. I’m allergic but the server told someone in our party to not get them because of that.
Two stars because our server, Chester, was very good. He did a great job handling our large party!

Tuve el burrito de pollo grande que era tan deliciosa. Llegó con arroz, frijoles y cebollas y tomates picados. La comida es fresca y abundante degustación. ¿O fue que el llenado de la margarita?
Yo estaba con un grupo de 7 en el patio y nos quedamos allí durante horas. Pegado! Las linternas en el techo se encendieron como nos estábamos riendo y pasando un buen rato. Random Viernes Night Lights. Me gusta este lugar y frecuente que cuando en la zona .
El servicio es generalmente bastante bueno. He tenido algunos contratiempos pero ehh. No les importa conseguir que borracho a desperdiciada. Todo su vidrio soplado están y vienen en diferentes formas y tamaños. No te van a engañar a su bebida, aunque, a veces, incluso dándole más .
En pocas palabras, usted debe salir diciendo: No Mas! Camine si fuera poco en la galería cerámica de barro adjunto. O bailar fuera en el paito a la música de estilo salsa.

Delicious! Everything was on point, food was fresh and flavorful, service was fast and friendly and drinks were great! We would definitely come back for more.
The calamari was amazing! And beware the pitchers are LARGE!

I feel a bit schizophrenic about No Mas, or maybe more like the nursery rhyme about the girl with curl– «when she was good, she was very good, but when she was bad, she was horrid.» There are some things about this place that I really like, then some things… not so much. It’s actually even hard to give it a star rating as I feel polarizingly different about the service (crappy!) and the décor (cool), as well as the food (tasty) and the drinks (lacking).
The pros:
The décor and atmosphere of the restaurant are actually quite bright and colorful. The restaurant itself is huge, with lots of multi-​sized tables… mind you, I’ve been here as a party of two and most recently, with 16 people, and have always been comfortable. Additionally, they have an ice cream/​coffeeshop and an art gallery/​shop on the property, and stylish. the food has always been pretty good, though definitely not the best Mexican food I’ve ever had. However, the service has always been a bit questionable.
The cons:
Oh, the service. Last time I was there as part of a celebratory work party, planned at the last minute. Unsure of how many people would be attending, we told the host we probably needed room for at least ten. It was way early and the restaurant was practically empty but the host said he «wouldn’t seat us until the whole party was there.» As we didn’t know how many and when the rest of our party would arrive, we decided that we’d just have to take our business elsewhere. And then magically, there was room for 12 and another 4 top that we could grow into if needed. So weird. And the drinks are just as awkward… they’ve obviously invested in the presentation of their pricey margaritas (as they’re served in these beautiful tall carafes), but not their contents. They taste like tequila mixed with kool-​aid and cheap sour mix. Ick.
As much as I love my after work drink and value good service, I’m not sure the «good» things are enough to outweigh the «horrid.»

Fun décor and lively atmosphere, but arranged well enough to have a good conversation. Excellent food, but sub par service. Waiter rolled eyes and took an incredible amount of time to take orders.
Shrimp enchiladas and fish tacos were very good and reasonably priced. Guacamole was very fresh!

No Mas! Must be referring to their Classico Margaritas because they are so potent (and tasty) you can only drink one!!!
The restaurant is spacious with indoor, bar and patio seating which my friends and I enjoyed. Lively music played as we sat amongst an energetic, chatty crowd.
Staff was pleasant and attentive. We were a large party with lots of questions and our waitress was very helpful.
Chips, salsa and Queso for starters and then we dug into enchiladas verde, enchiladas mole, tacos, veggie fajitas and salad topped with grilled salmon. All of our dishes were excellent! It was so appetizing we forgot to take pics.
I will definitely be back and will brings more friends and family.
Valet parking available on site $ 2. Not sure about street parking.

I had Adiós Café bookmarked for a while and didn’t realize the actual restaurant was No Mas! Cantina. Walk through the café to get into the restaurant.
The interior of the restaurant is awesome. From other reviews, much of the décor was from Mexico. It’s very unique and hard not to be completely entranced by.
Weekend brunch ends at 2, and our group was seated at 1:55. By the time our server came to us, it was 1:57, but she let us order from the brunch menu anyway!
The normal lunch menu was filled with so many options, but it reminded me of an overpriced Tex-​Mex restaurant. I decided against ordering from this menu because of the prices.
I ended up ordering the Huevos Nortenos, which is basically two eggs on top of cheese quesadillas with beans and rice on the side. Both eggs were thankfully cooked medium as per my request. However it was nothing special.
I also checked in on Unilocal to get a free queso dip appetizer, then went along nicely with our complimentary chips and salsa! We also got an order of guacamole, which was alright but once again nothing special: it really lacked a kick.
Overall a hearty meal but nothing out of the ordinary. If I’m ever here again, though, I would love to give their margaritas a try.

Eat here! I love this place. The décor is all kinds of interesting. The food is delicious. My only critique is that the drinks are pricy comparatively. My colleague and I ordered a pitcher of Texas style margaritas and it was fifty bucks. It was served in a handblown tower of a pitcher, but pricy nonetheless. That colleague I mentioned is Puerto Rican and commented that the food was as close to authentic as she’s seen in a restaurant in quite some time. I didn’t take pictures and can’t recall what we ordered that first trip, so you’ll just have to take my word for it!
I suggest you sit on the second floor so you can take in the decorations hanging from the ceiling without straining your neck!

We did not make reservations here so we opted for the bar seating. The chairs that are at the bar tables are thin with a tall back that forces you sit up, way up … Not the most comfortable
We had a queso dip and a guacamole for appetizers — they were very fresh and tasty
The salsa was spicy and well puréed, not chunky
I ordered the spinach enchiladas — which were creamed with goat cheese– delicious!
The margarita was expensive and not too strong, but still good — I chose a dos Equis draft lager for the second drink and that was a better choice
Our server was Angel and he was so much fun! Filled with suggestions and he even let us test our Spanish (or lack thereof) on him … Very chill personality and attentive but not pushy … Ask for him in the bar seating!
All in all, I had a great meal here and the store was filled with good finds mostly imported from Mexico
I would definitely return to seek out new menu items — I was very pleased with my food
