Monday Night Brewing

Going for my friends birthday ‘party’, it was immediately recognized by the staff, upon display of his ID, that it was his birthday and he granted free entry as expected but more than that, a commemoratory birthday glass, which differed from the one everyone else had in possession.
For $ 12 (shouldn’t be different– I had gone on Dec 21, a Monday), you are given 6 tickets. One for each beer. There are if I recall, 9 – 12 options and per ticket you get 6 fl. oz. so by the end of it you’ve had equivalent to 3 cans of beer. The alcohol content varies from above 5% (didn’t see one less than 5%) to high 8’s (8.7% if I’m not mistaken).
The experience was simple and straight forward. You are in a warehouse setting where the main floor is where people converse, drink and wait in line for more. Towards the back is the actual brewing ‘factory’ itself– you can get tours (I did not go on this tour).
It was awesome in the sense that, maybe it was extra packed cuz it was a Monday, but it felt lively and as a first-​timer it beat my expectations. First time to a brewery so I didn’t really have expectations either haha
I would say that I would definitely go again– its definitely worth the price if you want to drink and talk to a few friends (while standing mainly– there are seats but limited especially on a Monday). I went when it opened at 5:30 pm (closes at 7:30 pm., only open for 2 hours) but the two hours go by quick if you have a couple of buddies/​you meet people while waiting in line and chit chatting.
Awesome place to start the night at but I’m sure it can be an event as well for many occasions, from a first-​time outing, to a meetup place, to many other possibilities: D
Finally, at the time I went– if you take a tie to be put on the «Wall of Ties», you get a dollar off– also, they have shuffleboard as a drinking game in the main area as well!

Just finished the tour at Monday Night Brewing with Carmen Funk and it was outstanding! I’ve been homebrewing for 30 years and toured at least 50 breweries. I’m not sure if it was the best tour I’ve seen but hers is definitely in the top 2!

$ 12 gets your 6 pours and they always have some good stuff on tap. Take a tour, if anything it’s one of the funniest tours you’ll get at a brewery… unless you’re really insecure or don’t like being put on the spot :)
Pretty cool venue, check out the ties… get there early because parking can get a big backed up down Trabert Ave.

Well out of the three breweries we toured last Saturday I must this one had the best vibe and the liveliest crowd. They also had the most unique décor like all the ties on the wall behind the neon light that says tie one on ! All the beers we had were great and one of the owners happened to be out having a pint with the regulars in the crowd. Getting here was pretty easy and plenty of parking was to be had. Just wished I could have bought some beer here to go from the brewery itself not the grocery store down the road.

When in Rome, you find a place to drink with the Romans… Errr, Atlantians? Anyway, after having tried a couple different Monday Night Brewing beverages around town, I knew I needed to stop in here and grab a beverage.
I enjoyed that is was in a «warehouse». It gave a relaxes vibe that screams come as you are. When you arrive, make sure you stop at the front and grab your souvenir pint glass and drink tickets ($ 12 price tag for 36 ounces of beer, not too shabby). This was new to me, as San Diego breweries that I frequent don’t have this, but nothing wrong with it. They have 10 – 12 great beers on tap in addition to a non-​alcoholic ginger soda!
The staff was very polite and attentive.
They also had a food truck with great BBQ nibbles the day I was there. I did not have any (as I just smashed lunch before arrival), but it smelled great.
If you are planning a day of brewery action, keep in mind this brewery is only open for about 2.5 hours.

Such a fun place! Brought folks who like craft beer and they loved it — outside space is just awesome! Will bring folks back again!

By far my favorite brewery in Atlanta. I love beer and I love coffee, and I was blown away by their Bed Head — Imperial Coffee IPA. It was the perfect amount of hoppy fruitiness and rich coffee aroma. So yeah, definitely give it a try!
I think Monday Night has the best indoor and outdoor spaces for people to enjoy their beers too. Cool decoration and lots of seating, and they even allow your pooches to come and enjoy the outdoor area!
I bring any of my friends and family who are from out of town here and they’ve loved it!

What’s not to like? Great beer with enough variety, spacious location, big outdoor seating area and a couple of games. I think breweries are a great, inexpensive way to hang out for a couple of hours and this is a good one to go to. I think it’s probably the second largest brewery in Atlanta after Sweetwater (?), and I love coming here. It can get crowded of course on the weekends, but on the weekdays it’s not too bad. If you go early you can grab a table. I
Also they allow dogs out on the porch! Drinking beer outside and petting happy dogs is the best.

This place is a lot of fun. It is a great place to come on a lazy Saturday. They have a great selection of beers… I am a fairly picky beer drinker but I liked most of the ones that I tried. I have been here a few times and each time it has been a great experience. I learned recently that they allow dogs there. Big plus in my book. They allow them inside as well as outside which is great especially for super sunny or rainy days.
They recently have been allowed to sell their beers to take home. New law recently enacted. This is great for them, but with that they decided to raise the price of their admission tickets… It is now $ 12 for your 6 tickets. It is not a crazy price as you get essentially 3 – 4 beers… so they would be about $ 3 – 4 each, and you get a souvenir glass, but I was just disappointed with the price increase from the past time I had visited… $ 10. Oh well.
Love that they have games outside (and inside). They have cornhole outside as well as shuffleboard inside. Gives you a little something to do or watch while drinking your beers!

Beer! Brewery! Fun!
Breweries are like food buffets. For a set price you get to pick what you want from the selections. Do you get a whole glass? You can if you give up two tickets, but for one ticket you get a pour. Now you may say to yourself, «Just a pour??» Well fellow drinker one pour is just a pour but six of them? You are basically having three beers. And that is nothing to scoff at.
Monday Night gives you six tickets, a nice glass, and you are off. My first time here and although it was packed the lines were not crazy. My favorite from Monday is their Fu Man Brew, a lighter refreshing beer and Drafty Kilt which is their heavier Scotch ale. Nothing they have (at this time which is the cool thing about breweries they are always coming up with new stuff!) is over 10% ABV and I’m an over 10% ABV kind of girl but I was cool with these two choices.
What is interesting to note is there were a bunch of kids here. It was a Thursday evening in the summer, buttttt kids in a brewery? And I’m talking about someone carrying an infant on their back to pre-​teens. They are up in there. So if you want to make it a family outing, Monday Night appears to be the place. They have a ginger soda on tap that helps keep them busy along with some games.
All the ties on the wall are cool and bringing one with you gets you a $ 1 off. Nice outdoor space, parking gets filled up pretty quick, and of course the tour is an option for your beer brewing pleasure.

This is a very cool space… I’m not a beer drinker but I really liked coming here… I was worried about traffic coming to this side of town, so I left Marietta early and was able to find the location easily as the street dead ends into the brewery and there are parking lots across the street with signs pointing the way…
After parking we had to wait outside for a bit before they let us inside, since tours don’t start until 5:30. They check IDs at the door and when you walk in, you purchase your glass and drink tickets… I remembered my tie so I got a dollar off admission. Also there are stickers by the register so usually when I see stickers I’m like yay free stickers, but the lady at the register were like oh those are a dollar… So I’m like oops my bad and put them back… there wasn’t a sign that indicated they cost anything… Might be a good idea to put a 1 $ sign by merchandise, but next time I know when I visit a brewery… ask if they charge for their stickers… So I ended up buying one sticker and later on in the evening when I bought a t-​shirt… I was able to get another sticker since they’re free with your purchase… *sigh* another great piece of info that would be awesome on a sign by the register…
Anyway, we ended up grabbing a quiet spot outside to chill for the UYE. It was cool (not temperature wise, it was still hot) hanging outside, since the inside was louder and rather crowded. I must admit their outside needs some TLC… Like nail down that loose metal board all the kids kept walking on, making it bang loudly… Wipe the tables down after each event, because I was tempted to ask for a wet towel to wipe the bench we were at, but no one seemed to mind the sticky table… Dust off the corn hole games… Just make it a bit more inviting and not just seem like an after thought.
I ended up getting one beer pour… I even asked for half the amount they usually pour as I do not like beer. I got the Nerd Alert because I thought it wouldn’t be super strong… yeah I was wrong. I struggled mightily through my tiny bit of beer and even pour some of mine in a friend’s glass.
So after getting over my initial shock of beer consumption… I went back and got the ginger soda, which was pretty darn good. It was a nice light sweet refreshing ginger soda… I think I used enough adjectives… I had two glasses of soda and was happy. I tried a sip of some more beer from some friend’s glasses, but I knew I wouldn’t be able to drink even 3oz of beer on my own.
Overall I had fun, would I come back… sure why now. I’d probably try a small sample of beer again and then drink soda. But I think it’s a great idea to hang with coworkers after work or meet a few friends here. I did not take the tour because well I pretty much know how beer is made… Why it’s made I can’t explain lol. But other than that, I may not always drink beer, but when I do… I’ll give you the rest!!!

This is my favorite brewery to visit in Atlanta right now. I love almost all of their beers (and if I liked stouts, I’d probably like them all!), and the environment is really enjoyable. They have a very large indoor space scattered with chairs and couches as well as a great outdoor area complete with fire pits, benches, and cornhole in the back. They have indoor AND outdoor bars, and even when it’s almost at capacity the lines move really quickly.
I also like how they have partnered up with the other westside breweries for fun running and other social events, as well as throwing their own charitable functions. Great work!

This is your typical brewery and tour. They have a great vibe going on and a great set up. They offer a large patio (not covered so if it rains you get wet). with games and a bar serving beers. Inside is like a large warehouse with a large bar where you can also get your beer (expect longer lines here).
You pay $ 10 and get 6 drink tickets. They serve the glasses very generously but you can’t go back and buy more tickets. If you don’t want to drink but just want to hang, you can just walk in (I was DD) or just buy the tks and give them away.
You get to keep the souvenir cup, I got all my friend’s cup and have a new set for my kitchen (love beer glasses).
They need to work on one minor thing: Get hooks on all bathroom doors in the girls restroom. You don’t know how crucial these are.

I arrived at Monday Night with fresh eyes. Over the past 15 years, Georgia has built a quality craft brewing scene. I’ve enjoyed Sweetwater, Red Hare, and Terrapin immensely, MNB delivers its own unique rapport with guests.
Upon entering the building, I felt at ease and excited at Monday Night. The employees were genuine and sincerely communicated their passion for their beer and brand.
The brews were cold, corn hole games a plenty.
It truly felt like I walked into a friends apartment for a guys night. Check out the Tie Wall! The tour is a must. My favorite beer is the Eye Patch IPA. It’s crisp, bitter and filling. Don’t leave Atlanta without visiting MNB. «Weekends are Overrated»!

I have a special affinity for Monday Night because it’s the first brewery I checked out in Atlanta. So I guess a little nostalgia there along with some great memories. It also helps that it’s located quite close to where I live so is easy to get to for tastings.
I really love the space here, half is a nice outdoor patio, and half is an air conditioned interior. There are tables scattered about both inside and out, so if you’re able to snag one to sit at, that’s really convenient. Inside is really nicely themed and they hae the tie wall, a fireplace mantle, just a neat «loft» type space.
As far as beers go, I’d say they are pretty average for the craft experience in Atlanta. Nothing is really a standout, but nothing is truly terrible either. The Fu Man Brew is apparently quite polarizing — either you love it or you hate it. This last trip a friend recommended it mixed with the ginger soda and that was a nice refreshing taste that took some of the bite off of the ginger taste. I’d say my favorite is the Eye Patch Ale IPA, but it’s your standard IPA. Their Nerd Alert pils is also pretty good for a pilsner, in my opinion.
As usual for the area, $ 10 gets you the pint glass and six tastings. The pours are generous and I sometimes can’t even use all six tickets!

The brewery itself was quite awesome. It was packed when we went and actually we had to wait in a long line just to get through the door! The wait time for a beer was also quite long.
The ties on the wall is very clever and made me wish I was wearing a tie just so I could add it to the wall, even though I’m not sure that’s a thing you can do. Awesome outside area, unless it downpours.
You get drink tickets that you use to get your beers. Each ticket is a taster and it was about 3 tickets for a full pint. Apparently, there’s some weird Georgia law about selling beer, so this is a work around. That and you purchase your glass at the door. Awesome souvenir!

Monday Night Brewing is located off of Howell Mill Rd above 17^th Street and the water treatment plant. It’s tucked away in a bit of an industrial appearing area at the end of Trabert — parking is a bit haphazard but there’s a lot across the street where you can usually find parking. It’s only open on Monday and Thursday evenings from 5:30 to 7:30 PM and Saturday from 2:00 to 4:00 PM. Attire is casual to the extreme with many visitors and regular scheduled events.
When you pull-​up to the street you may think you’ve taken a wrong turn, however Google Maps is your friend (in this instance) and is steering you right. You’ll start to see signs with direction arrows in yellow and the familiar logo. The building itself looks like a warehouse with a huge «Weekends Are Overrated.» sign above some parking. When you walk in, typical of most brewers, they don’t see the beer — seems there’s some dumb Georgia law that prevents that, however at the counter you purchase a custom glass and get 6 tickets for $ 10. You redeem the tickets (each is good for ¹⁄₃^rd pour, but it’s more like half the glass) from the employees pouring at the main counter. The space is huge and there’s usually some fairly long lines, especially when there’s an event going on, which is frequent. If you’re there during a nice clear evening, you’ll find many fans outside in a patio area.
You can view the vats and brewing equipment via windows-​in-​doors past a huge wall of ties — if you haven’t gotten it yet the theme is «take off your tie and kick back» — there are tie displays and many a bearded hipster lounging around with their buddies. It’s also a great place for IT folk to hang, I recognized many faces and the first time I went there was an IT contracting agency set up with food.
Monday Night Brewing is a great purveyor of fine Atlanta-​produced craft beer, producing something that’s distinctly more bitter, more flavorful and with much more kick. The brews at Monday Night definitely have that, with all that I’ve tried coming in above 6% ABV.
Drafty Kilt Scotch Ale — this is my favorite so far — a very robust ale darker than most with a bit of red tint. Very malty with hints of molasses and lots of buttery caramelization and aromas. It also comes in at 7.2% ABV — a solid and delicious beer good with anything from casual drinking, through most meals and into dessert. AND you can get your buzz on with this delicious brew. If they’re pouring the Bourbon Barrel go with that at 8.5% ABV — all the goodness of the regular with intensified flavors (I haven’t seen it poured here, only had it in bottles)
Eye Patch Ale — this is an American IPA with your typical hoppy flavors, a bit downplayed but enhanced with citrus and some floral aromas. I find it interesting as you get both the bitterness of the hops and some sweetness from the malt — not your typical ale and a good intro if you’re not into the heavy flavors of some of the alternatives — at 6.2 ABV it wont knock you back as much as the Drafty.
Blind Pirate Double IPA — wow, this one will get your buzz on quickly at 8.2% ABV. Lots of aroma and similar to the Eye Patch, but much intensified. You’ll get a lot more pine from the hops in this one an it comes in as my second favorite.
In any case, this is a place well worth visiting — I had quite a good time. My only complaint is that the hours are a bit short — just long enough to sample a few but not long enough to complete out an evening. Luckily there are plenty of place nearby to get food and more to drink.

When did brewery tours become popular? I don’t know and I don’t care. Beer beer beer :)
Parking is pretty simple, there will be people directing you to empty parking spots. Once you park, walk to the line where they WILL card you, and wait to pay $ 10 upfront for a souvenir beer glass and 6 drink tickets. Designated drivers get a small plastic shot cup and six tickets as well, but for free! Get to know which pourers are more generous pourers to get your $ 10 worth.
I’ve been here twice in various weather conditions, and I’ve always had a good time.
When the weather is nice, you can basically set up camp outside. King of Pops makes an appearance for you to purchase unique Popsicles. Corn hole is available for free play. Tables and benches are open for casual lounging. So hipster I can’t even.
Inside is a little stuffy for me, but still very cool. The wall of ties on the side is pretty freaking awesome. That’s all I can say on that. I believe if you bring a tie in to «tie one on» on Monday nights, you receive a discounted souvenir glass and drink tickets, although I haven’t tried it. So try it and let me know how it goes! There are multiple shuffle board tables for you to play, with a line to play with new friends once the victor emerges.
Also take advantage of the tours! They’re a lot of fun, against contrary belief, where you get to learn about how the brewery was started and the direction it’s taking now. Our tour guide, Duck, was very transparent with us and encouraged us to take it easy and be chill about life. He also give us a little background about beer brewing, which is always good trivia knowledge to tuck away for later.
There are two counters to refill your beer. They are adjoining counters, but one side is indoors and the other is outdoors. At each counter there are maybe 4 – 6 people serving you beer. There are always seasonal options, as well as their staple beers like Fu Man Brew and their IPA’s. I tried the Gun Show once, and couldn’t stop asking for refills, so I was disappointed when they did not have it the second time I went.
I really enjoy Monday Night Brewing, and hope to be here more when the weather lightens up!

This is a great brewery! Coming from California, I am used to a different type of brewery scene. Usually we have Brewery/​Pubs where you eat and drink, but this was very cool!
The 411 for my California Buds:
In GA breweries can’t sell their beer to the public. So, you purchase a glass in order to get a tour of the brewery where they give you free drink tickets. My wife and I got 6 a piece. So we shared them and were able to sample everything on tap. Now, in order to not get wasted we had to pour some out, because they give you 6 – 8 oz pours!!!
So, about the actual place:
Bring an old tie from your closet! If you give them an old tie to nail to their wall, you get $ 1 off of your «glass price»! Check out my photo of their wall of ties. It’s pretty cool. The ambiance is hipster industrial and the crowd definitely matches. The tour was very enjoyable. The guide had a very dry sense of humor with a little sarcasm with a slight touch of self deprecation which just made it even funnier.
On to the beers:
When we were there, they had 10 beers on tap. Many were surprising with notes of ginger and floral notes that I have never tasted in beers before. Out of 10 there was only one that I didn’t enjoy. It’s been a few weeks so I don’t remember which was which, but it was a very enjoyable experience and if I find myself in the Atlanta area again, I will make a point of going back!

Monday Night Brewing is the best brewery in town. I might be a tad bit biased since their Fu ManBrew is the only beer I really like to drink. I’m more of a cider drinker than a beer drinker. I also like that this place doesn’t get as crazy as Sweetwater during drinking hours.
For $ 10 you get a glass and 6 drink tickets. Their glasses are my favorite to collect and use at home. You can get a pour (¹⁄₃ of a glass) for 1 ticket and a full glass for 3 tickets. The pours are generous so I’d go with the 1 ticket at a time as opposed to 3. Just my 2 cents.
The patio outside is great. It offers plenty of seating and is shaded on the hot Saturday afternoons. They have a fairly decent-​sized lot across Trabert. Make sure you don’t park at other businesses that say no brewery parking.
Monday Night is close to lots of other things on the Westside so you can easily move your party on to the next venue.
