Not bad… Can’t seem to wrap my head around the Super Spicy margaritas and beware they do not warn you! My husband was caught way off guard and he HATES spicy … Anyhow, the food is good, and service was just«ok». Hubby got the stuffed chicken kabobs and I kept it safe with beef and shrimp tacos w/rice and black beans. Can’t say we’d necessarily go out of our way to go back but if in the neighborhood it’s a possibility.

The $ 10 taco plate(2 tacos, rice and beans) was awesome. Lots of selection for the tacos which is to be commended. I had the steak and fried chicken tacos. Both had great flavor. The rice was green, which was new for me but tasted great. Expect to come in here paying more than $ 10 for a decent size/amount of margarita if that’s your thing. Our waitress was training someone and was really nice, but also seemed to totally disappear after she interacted with us when we had key things missing/running low like silverware and drinks or picking up the check.

Not much to say but just blah. My flautas were really greasy, seriously greasy. I ordered a side of plantains but the waiter totally ignored me — never even refilled my water. I was there on a very quiet Sunday evening so I don’t know why the lack of attentiveness from the waitstaff. Nice décor and patio but not much else worth returning for. The food is very overpriced for its quality.

Either location. Awesome quality food for a fair price. The staff rocks and atmosphere good. My favorite.

Service — Great. We sat down and three servers came over right away. The restaurant was somewhat busy and our food and drinks came out right away. Food — Very good. I ordered the tamales and my dinner date ordered shrimp tacos everything was great.

Had a greatbtime during lunch with co-workets. Great $ 2:00 taco’s! Atmosphere was nice, laid and simple. Our waiter could have been a tad more attentive, but other wise a nice spot.

Food and drinks was delicious! Outside it doesn’t look like much but inside was awesome. Allyson was very nice and attentive. When I checked in Unilocal gave me 2 free shots to try their devil’s water. It was so spicy but it was fun to try something new.

I hate leaving them two stars, especially since they do have a Unilocal check in special(Devil’s water, don’t ask just drink it) but I have to rate them a 2 on service and food. Service — slow as heck. The restaurant wasn’t even that busy and it took a long time to get our food, drinks, and our server just wasn’t feeling it when we went. She was a bit crass about a few things and it rubbed me the wrong way. I ordered a quesadilla, she heard enchiladas, took a bit of negotiating to get the right dish. Seems like I shouldn’t have t barter to get the correct dish I ordered. Food — not very good. For an appetizer we had chips, salsa, guac, and chorizzo queso. All were bland with the exception of the guac which really just tasted like a fresh avocado. No seasoning, just avocado. I guess that’s the whole point of guac, but still.. . mehh. My chicken quesadilla was pretty nasty. I’m not sure what seasoning combination they used for the chicken but it was overly seasoned with no particular blend in mind. Nothing meshed well, just a bunch of goo on chicken. Blekkk. And it was super soggy and made me skin crawl. Speaking of food, if you’re goingt o charge for chips and salsa, and for chip refills, you should give a bigger serving portion of chips. Even aft ordering 3 chip refills at $ 2.00 each, we still have a lot of salsa, guac, and queso left over. Which is a plus I guess considering the food was bland. I’m sorry, with other great places like Tin Lizzie’s within walking distance, I have a really hard time recommending this place. To be honest, based on the food I’m not sure if I will go back. I just wasn’t impressed with the taste, pairing, and quality of the dishes.

Thanks, Unilocal, for finding up this hidden spot. We’ve lived in the neighborhood for more than 3 years, but Mezcalito’s is hidden away on a sidestreet, between Memorial and Woodward. Terrific Margaritas, and very fresh, unique options for vegetarians and carnivores alike!

When I go I always enjoy myself. Food is always great. I always start with the plantain cakes, a little sweet but I dig em. Great margaritas, everything I’ve had there has been good. I am in love with their brunch menu though. I’m eager to eventually try them all. Great service, awesome atmosphere, neighborhoody… Alls I’m saying is, it’s definitely worth checking out!

The food was ok, nothing amazing. I ordered the steak and goat cheese enchiladas and I didn’t really care for them too much. The drinks were great! Very strong especially the Devils water shot. Our waiter was very nice so kudos to him, I can’t remember his name though. When I went I used the scoutmob handpicked deal which was a great deal the only thing I didn’t like was the 17% gratuity that was added to our check without a warning. Our $ 22 tab ended up $ 40 so that was my only complaint.

I came here because Unilocal had a check-in promo for free«devils water». What is that you ask? Jalapeño infused tequila. Whatever that was, our whole table became instantly drunk off of one shot. Like, holyyyyyy cow drunk. I am not sure if the peppers increase the speed of alcohol absorption or not, but wowsa. As a shot, it BURNED. I added it to my margarita and it made a nice spicy marg. Now the venue and food. Pros: no wait, plenty of seating, friendly staff Cons: they charge for chips and salsa and chip refills, small portions and SLOW service. Once seated I ordered another margarita and took an hour to get it. Not the servers fault, bar was SLOW. Our server Sofia was AMAZING, patient and fun and we would come back again just to see her!

This was our first time trying the place, and after about 20 – 25 minutes of waiting for the waiter to the come back and take our order, we asked for our check and left. The cheese dip was cool, I guess. It was $ 5, which seemed a little expensive. Super disappointing that between 3 staff members, an empty bar, and 7 tables we couldn’t order any food in a reasonable time.

This isn’t a place I’d recommend or revisit, especially with Mi Barrio and Tin Lizzy’s within walking distance. The ambiance is great, so if that’s what you’re looking for, it beats the others mentioned above. The margaritas are nothing worth bragging about, when you don’t order a second one, it’s a problem. Chips and guacamole — don’t waste your money, had to add salt and hot sauce to the guac to give it flavor and the chips are bland. Chicken kabob — tasty, but can you really mess up chicken kabobs? Chilled relleno — didn’t have much taste, wouldn’t order again Service was good and again the place was nice, but not worth visiting… hit the others on memorial or go to Nuevo Laredo for the best Mexican in town.

I’ve only been to Mezcalito’s Cocina once thus far. They have an extensive selection of tequila(woo hoo!). The food was good as well. I had the chicken enchiladas and my husband ordered a quesadilla. Of course, we shared a pitcher of the Mezcalito’s Margarita. The wait wasn’t too long for a Friday night. And I enjoyed the ambiance as well.

Fantastic tequila and margaritas, delicious enchiladas and chilaquiles, family and singles friendly. What more could you ask for in a local Mexican restaurant? There are a lot of Mexican restaurant options in Grant Park, East Atlanta, and Cabbagetown. This one is our best. I only wish we had discovered it earlier.

I wasn’t the biggest fan of Mezcalitos the first time I went. The migas just didn’t hit the right spot if you know what I’m saying… I’m not sure I know what I’m saying. I have been back numerous times since and have enjoyed this americanized mexican spot more than any other near me. Things that taste good: –Gazpacho(it pisses me off that it’s no longer on the menu) –Poblano Rings(fried poblano slices with two amazingly good sauces to dip… a red sauce and an avocado lime sauce) –Maduros(sweet plantains, so good) –Poblano enchiladas with chicken(I normally hate enchiladas and that nasty red sauce they are smothered in, but these are smothered in a slightly spicy green sauce and are cheesy as can be) — Pescado Mezcalitos(grilled tilapia with roasted red pepper sauce, poblano mashed potatoes, and one of the best tasting side salads around) ^^^Spot hit again and again.
