Went today-closed for good. Note on the door stating something to the affect: Due to unforeseen circumstances, and the current economic climate, we are closed. Thanks for the business. Sad I never got to try it.

Wow, despite being pretty new, Lydle Bros is a serious contender. I went here at lunch on my informal quest for great barbeque. The area southwest of the Dome is pretty unfamiliar to me, but luckily this place is close enough to work and easy to get to. The restaurant is pretty no-frills, but it’s a barbeque place so what do you expect? The food, however, is great. It reminded me of Fox Brothers — similar style of mac & cheese, baked beans, ribs, pork, and sauce. The mac & cheese was fantastic and better than FB’s(a great achievement!). Baked beans were dark, tangy and spicy and tasted almost exactly like the sauce. The beans were great, but a little thick and I wish they had at least a slightly different flavor than the sauce. I had the Brunswick stew as well which was excellent. The ribs were St. Louis-style in terms of the dry rub and the cut of the ribs, but the flavor and sauce didn’t really strike me as St. Louis. That is preferable for me though since I’m not a huge fan of the flavor of the St. Louis ribs I’ve had in the past. They were similar to FB’s but not quite as good. The pork sandwich was pretty tasty, but the meat I got was just a little bit on the dry side and not quite as good as FB’s. I think I may have just gotten a little unlucky with that though. The smokiness of the meats was pretty decent as well. Everything struck me as being pretty solid and well-seasoned with strong flavors. The staff was really nice and welcoming. Catering seems to be an emphasis for them so I definitely would recommend them for that. All in all, this was a great discovery and I hope people make a point to go here since it’s not an ideal location. I still like Fox Brothers better, but this place is new and has room to grow and improve. Also, it is closer to work than FBs and a bit cheaper as well so that is just going to make future decisions between the two very tough. 4

This is BBQ as good as it gets! Their ribs are also phenomenal, and their mac-n-cheese is decadent. I’ve eaten in their restaurant and used their catering for parties — I highly recommend them. Everyone at the party raved about how good everything was.

Echoing the prior review, this may be the best BBQ I’ve found in Atlanta. These guys do a great job on everything. Emphasis on the word«great». Pulled pork is good, ribs are good and the sides are solid, with the exception of the mac & cheese. The mac & cheese belongs in a whole new category of excellence. They could easily have built their entire restaurant around the creamy deliciousness of the mac & cheese. Good sized portions combined with friendly, attentive service is the icing on the cake, allowing Lydle Brothers to earn that oh-so-rare 5-star ranking from this Unilocaler.

The best BBQ I have had in the 21⁄2 yrs. I’ve been in Atlanta! Chris Lydle catered our 2nd annual Gemini party this year and totally rocked the house with his awesome pulled pork. His pork is so flavorful and moist that it didn’t even need the bbq sauce, although that was pretty awesome too. He tells me his Brunswick stew is «to die for», but sadly, that was not part of our menu for the day. What a great company… reliable, reasonable, punctual, and a pleasure to deal with. Lydle Brothers BBQ is used to catering much bigger events than our small 45 person party, but Chris took on our pool party with just as much enthusiasm and professionalism as he would have with a much bigger event. Thank you, Chris, for a super BBQ catering experience!
