Loop Salon

After eyeing Loop Salon’s IG for a hot minute, I decided to finally go and check it out! Their booking page online is a bit funny but I ended up setting an appointment for a style and trim! I was really impressed when I walked in and felt welcomed upon entering. My stylist was fantastic but I don’t believe she was well versed in the particular style that I envisioned. My trim came out well but my style left much to be desired. A woman who happened to have her hair done at the exact time was given a fabulous twist out by Dee Carrington and was asked to pose for several pictures while all I received was the bill. I was not happy with the final product and wished the stylist would have pushed me in another direction and suggested a style that would be more flattering :-(

This is my regular salon-​my stylist is Shannon. I have had various hairstyles (medium length natural, short tapered fro, shaved sides) and I am so very happy with all of them.
They have a great referral program of $ 20 off, so I have referred 5 or 6 of my friends (all with different hair textures, types and styles) and they have all been please as well.

I enjoyed my experience at Loop Salon. I have been there twice and each time I was seen by Jameela, which is a wonderful and knowledgeable stylist. She is very personable as well. The salon is well lit, clean, and has a lot of open space. I was turned on to this salon by a soror and ATL makeup artist who posted her journey there on FB and IG. I have only gotten a rod set known as the «loop set» during my two visits. My hair turned out well each time and it lasted me 2 ½ weeks, but I know I am unique to that because my hair styles last a long time generally.
I know that one customer/​reviewer noted that the stylist didn’t remember her from her first appointment to the second one, and that happened to me as well. But it was no big deal because I know they gets lots and lots of customers, and I was a new customer, so after a few key conversational reminders, she remembered me.
I gave it 4 stars instead of 5, because I had a few issues with booking my appointment. The first time I tried to schedule my appointment, I called several times and left a couple of voicemail messages, and I never received a call back regarding my appointment. I ended up catching them while calling back again. Then for my second appointment, I called and ended up having to leave a couple a messages again without a call back. I called back again the third time and tried to schedule an appointment with Jameela, but I was told she didn’t have any openings that day I requested, so I scheduled with another stylist. The next day (the day before my appointment) I received a call back concerning scheduling an appointment with Jameela, and apparently she did have an opening the day I had inquired about. So when the receptionist scheduled my appointment she saw that I was already scheduled. And so the salon manager got on the phone to explain that canceling with one stylist is typically not done or one is charged a fee due to it being past the 24 hour window. I explained that I had called to schedule an appointment earlier in the week and I was told that the stylist I wanted didn’t have any availability, so I scheduled with someone else, and I received a call back from the salon about scheduling with Jameela. It turns out that the receptionist was just returning my call from a voice message I made days ago. That is where the confusion happen. All that to say that there needs to be a bette appointment system, but perhaps now that they have launched an online appointment booking, perhaps this will rectify future appointment and scheduling issues.
I really adore this salon and Jameela. I would recommend that you check her and the salon out. You won’t be disappointed! I will be back very soon, but I think for a crochet braiding style or Senegalese twists!

I went to Loop salon on 06÷27÷15. I had a wonderful experience. Shannon was my stylist and is a very nice person and great at what she does. Very clean, professional, and great time management. I have short natural hair and wanted a natural style that didn’t look like an Afro. Shannon did some flat twists and comb twists for the shorter parts and I love it! The products she used were really good. I would definitely refer a friend!

After my initial visit to Loop Salon with Kim I was not completely satisfied with how my hair turned out. HOWEVER the atmosphere and customer service was excellent. Kim is actually very sweet, I just did not leave with what I had hoped for. The owner of Loop, Lindsey, found out and called me personally to invite me back and get my hair done the way I wanted free of charge. She kindly set me up with the lead stylist Codie, who took excellent care of my hair.
Every employee I interacted with at Loop from the front-​desk receptionist to the stylists were very professional and accommodating including Kim. I personally find the services to be slightly overpriced. However, the fact that they were reached out to me to make sure I got exactly what I wanted speaks volumes about the kind of business Lindsey runs.

I just went in for a trim, and to scope the place out, and I enjoyed my experience. The stylist cut my hair wet after washing and conditioning, and she «trimmed» about .5″ all around. It was a bit more than I wanted but it’s okay. The products smelled good and were moisturizing.
The salon is clean and in a nice location. The parking, however is almost none existent. Go ahead to then back (from the left) to find a space.
When I made my appointment, I asked the receptionist if my hair would be cut wet or dry, and she said dry. Turns out they only do dry trims on relaxed/​straight hair. The receptionist even asked if I was natural, so I’m not sure why I got the wrong answer. I was looking forward to a dry curly cut, but the wet cut was fine.
I do intend to return to this salon.

Amazing experience! The salon was clean with a very relaxing atmosphere. It’s evident that delivering outstanding hair care and customer service are their main priorities! Shannon took the time to really understand my hair during our consultation, by inquiring about my goals for my hair, my lifestyle, hair routine, staple products, and challenges. She thoroughly explained the objective for my appointment, the products she intended to use and why, as well as care for my hair and maintenance of the style at home… not to mention she was extremely down to earth — we laughed non-​stop! This place is everything I expect in a hair salon and I’m SO happy to have been referred. I can’t wait for my next appointment!

This is was first visit to the salon. I went to get my hair cut by Danielle. GREAT service! From the time I walked in I felt welcomed. My appointment was at 10 and I arrived 30 minutes early. I was able to get right into the chair upon arrival. One of my pet peeves is having to sit and wait at a salon for extended amount of time, however the loop salon exceeded my expectations. Danielle did a awesome job and I love my hair cut! I will definitely go back…

I was very impressed by the professionalism of the staff and quality of my hairstyle. The salon was modern, clean, and comfortable. My hairstylist was Jameela and she gave me a beautiful color, fly cut, and a sexy style. I was concerned about parking because the area is very busy, but there was a parking lot in the rear. Even though I usually do my own hair, I will return in the future to have it styled.

The first time I got my hair done here I saw Dee Carrington whom I discovered via Instagram as she was featured on Carols Daughter page once for her work. I was adamant about having my husband drive me from NC to ATL to try her as s stylist as I had been unsuccessful in finding a stylist in NC for natural hair being new to the state.
My first visit was awesome, I LOVED my hair it was perfect and I had a great time getting to know D.Carrington. My favorite part was the start of my appointment where D came to the fabulous waiting area to get to know more about me and my desires for my hair. From there she created a hair plan after working on my hair which included her observations and some suggested products which I purchased. I was also given cards to give out and if people booked they would get $ 20 off and I would get $ 20 off my return visit. Here is the reason why it’s 4 stars, I have out my cards and my girlfriend went to see D. Carrington and let her know that I referred her and D acted as if she had no clue who I was and we talked so much and I like to think I’m memorable. I just really felt that she would remember me because of the processes they have in place and all the pretalk. Ooh well.
My next several visits were with Codie and she is AMAZING. She has done my hair multiple times and each time it was a HIT and guess what? She remembered me and is very personable and professional.

I love this place! I just moved to Atlanta and had been looking for a new place to go to coming from Cali. OMGGG Jameela is amazing! I adore her and her skills are on point. I was nervous. The first salon to get my hair done since I moved… I was on edge, but all was good!
I had an install that was dyed first (the day before) and my experience was quite pleasant! I will be back for sure!
The music was jammin on the one! They were quite accommodating to me and very on par from LA salons that I have frequented…

I called two weeks ago and left a message for an appointment. I haven’t received a call back. I back called the following day and got the answering service. I called during business hours on a day the shop was open, per the answering service. I still haven’t received a call back.
Grateful to Lindsay for helping me setup an appointment for next week. Definitely not trying to be an a_​_​hole. I’ve seen the work of Loop Salon on Instagram and I’m excited to for my style.

This salon is cute and has great stylists, but not so great management. I agree that there are definitely some areas for improvement (see the other comment about the hard-​sell, etc.). Be careful if you decide to try the salon for one of their specials, which may not be easy to use after you get there. For example, any specials cannot be combined with their cut and style package, which they consider a «special» even though it is listed on their price sheet under «classic» services. I wish there was a stronger commitment to customer service as they work these kinks out. I will not return since there are other salons committed to getting it right. However, if their stylists decide to go out on their own, I would happily follow!

This was my first time getting my hair done by a natural hairstylist since I went natural 3 yrs ago and I am glad I chose this salon. My stylist was Jameela and she was very sweet and gave me a really great hair cut and style. Everyone was super professional and nice and I felt so welcome. I love the décor and space. The parking is very small in the front and that’s my only complaint. I have already made my next appointment.

This salon is in my neighborhood and I never noticed it until today. I called to make a same day appointment and was warmly greeted and given an appointment for that afternoon. Upon entering the salon, I was very impressed with the atmosphere, vintage couches with colorful flairs. I was immediately offered water or tea. My stylist, Shannon, was very knowledgeable and friendly. She did a great consultation and then I was taken back to the shampoo bowl. The shampoo and hair dryer area was much larger than I had anticipated and equally chic but more minimalist than the reception area. I had a very long wait between my hydration treatment and blow dry because Shannon was working on another client’s hair. Otherwise, I was very happy with my hair, especially my trim. Shannon was very meticulous and did not get scissor happy (when a trim turns into a cut).
Areas for improvement:
There are no published prices at the salon or on the website and the prices are slightly higher than other more established high-​end natural hair salons like Too Groovy. My hydration, trim, and silk press was $ 125. Only after I asked for an itemization of the prices was I informed that they do not print receipts. I was then shown a sliver of paper that the stylist provided to the front desk. $ 70 for the silk press. $ 25 for the hydration. $ 30 for the trim. I am all for being green, but the prices are not even on their website and there is no option to receive an email confirmation. I was also surprised to learn that I could not add the tip to my credit card charge. There is no sign anywhere indicating that policy. I would have loved to have known that in advance. Most spas and salons allow gratuity on cards. But, if Loop chooses not to, it should be clearly stated beforehand as to prevent embarrassment for the client and a loss of an adequate tip to the stylist. I asked to put a $ 25 tip on my card and when I was informed of the tip policy, I only had $ 13 on cash. The front desk also advised that I could walk to a bank up the street to get cash. Not exactly the end experience I was anticipating.
Lastly, the hard sell on their products is too much. First, you are walked through the series of products planned to be used on your hair. While your hair is being done, there are again constant references to the products for sale. They were actually placed in front of me while I was in the salon chair and again explained in detail. When you checkout, a basket of those same products is placed in front of you with some statement from the front desk «and, your stylists wants you to use these products at home.» It was too much. I purchase a lot of high end hair products and most stylists let the product speak for itself.
I will likely return to the salon because I love to support local businesses and I was very happy with my hair. I hope the few areas for improvement are addressed because Loop has the potential to be a great addition to the Atlanta market.

I love Loop Salon! The staff were super friendly and knowledgeable. My stylist (Codie) worked quickly, but was very thorough in her work and explanation of each step and products. I wasn’t exactly sure what I wanted when I came in, but Codie worked with me to find the perfect cut and style. Plus the vibe and décor is fabulous. This is by far the best natural hair salon I’ve been to in Atl. I will be a regular.

The interior lay out of this place is superb! When you walk in it’s nice and cozy but with a modern, vintage touch; and when you walk to the back, the size of the space will surely impress you! I got my hair done for a wedding and my hair is naturally curly so I stayed with the natural feel but added a little spice with a red hue! When I left the salon, I had never had so many shiny, defined, healthy looking coils in my life! They were a little tight for my liking but after they loosened up a bit, it was beautiful! (The bigger the better honey!) The stylists were great and even taught me a few things or two about my hair! Couple of tricks that I now use myself! Next time I’m in Atlanta I will surely return to the LOOP! Oh and you can sometimes find the owner there too! She’s
pretty great! If you’re looking for products, they got ‘em! Ouidad and phyto for natural and colored hair! And if you’re hair isn’t the only thing a little parched, they offer water and tea to keep you hydrated while under the dryer! Great spot for sure!

The vibe, the décor, the music, the chai tea, the soft spoken stylist extraordinaire Dee Carrington is the best! She explained every single step and product used on my tresses. I thought I was coming for a Ouidad cut and I’m now leaving with the flyest stacked natural bob styled in a sexy shiny rod set. I’m so sure to be back sooner than later.
