Horrible service. Wanted to order steak fajitas and they said they stopped preparing steak 40 minutes before close. They also didn’t have fish. Salsa was bland. Chips were stale. Food was average at best. Will not be coming back.

We ate lunch at Lime on Cinco de Mayo and were shocked there weren’t more people there. In fact, at one point we were the only ones there. Employees stood on the street trying to hustle up business. Maybe it was too early or maybe it was the mediocre food. Lime has a cool look, but the food is pretty common. It was hard to resist the $ 2 Cinco de Mayo taco special. I chose two beef and one chicken taco. They were surprisingly devoid of flavor, except for the overly salted ground beef. Everything was bleh, even some of the salsas on the salsa bar. I’ve visited twice and I’m sure I’ll be back again just because it’s convenient and appeals to groups, but not because of the food. Hint: There’s another terrific Mexican restaurant about a block away, tucked down a side street.

Decided to come here since I left my ID at home and couldn’t get into Vortex. Since I had my heart set on eating a burger, the idea of eating a burrito was pretty depressing. I got the queso steak burrito, without beans, and it was alright. Reminded me of one of the burritos I like from Taco Bell. Although, a whole lot more expensive. Checked in and got free chips! :] The salsa bar isn’t too impressive since they don’ t have a lot of options, but it’s still cool that they have a salsa bar. The food is pretty ehh, but the staff is pretty good company, and the service was excellent.

We were headed somewhere else in the neighborhood, but it didn’t work out, so we saw Lime and decided to give it a try. The décor is fresh and modern. The hot sauce bar at the front counter has you thinking this is some tasty stuff. The menu is pretty basic — tacos, burritos, salads, dips and chips. I ordered the guacamole and chips and the La Paz salad with grilled fish. With a 2 year old in tow, I headed to the small room in the back that had a couple of booths and short tables. A server arrived to help us get situated, offering to get our water and our salsa from the salsa bar. He also offered a high chair for the little guy. But the food was unimpressive. The chips were thick and slightly stale. The guacamole was meh. The La Paz salad was a mound of shredded iceberg lettuce with cold black bean salsa, tortilla strips, and the fish. I will say the fish was decently well-cooked. I can’t remember the dressing, but the creaminess of it was much needed on an otherwise bland salad. I only ate about half of it. The people were friendly and attentive, so I might be back to try something else in the future, but I definintely won’t request it or make a special trip.

I loooove this place. I can never get enough of the salsa bar or beeritas! The service is pretty awesome too.

Yum, I got the chicken and bacon quisadilla. It was really good, had a great taste. I added the avacado-ranch sauce to it, im glad I did but i think it would have been good without it. Its a lot like Willies/Moes, better than Moes. It was fresh, I liked that. Salsa bar is nice, but nothing more than what willies and moes has except they have cilantro without you having to ask for it. Good spot.

This is directly across the street so it was only a matter of time before we ate there. The food, like other reviews say, is just ‘meh’. I’ve had tacos and nachos, guac, and cheese dip. I think my main complaint is that the cheese dip is really not good at all. So sad. The taco I had was good(fish taco), my nachos were ok but a little dry. The staff is wonderful. They are super friendly and attentive. They always say hello and help out with ordering.

I really wish I could go back in time and not eat here. I have seriously had better food from the Taco Bell on Ponce. I ordered the classic quesadilla with steak and my wife ordered the queso burrito with chicken. She had been here once before when this location first opened and said the food wasn’t great… but she was willing to give it another shot. She regrets that decision. My quesadilla was soggy and I could barely see or taste any steak. There really wasn’t very much cheese and the«organic refried beans» were gross. To top it all off I think the sour cream was a little old. My wife said her burrito had zero taste and was just not good at all. This is my first one star review and I hope not to have to do another one. I will definitely not be back here.

The major complaint is that the food was ‘meh’. I ordered the fish tacos and there was no flavor in the fish or the ‘special sauce’. The chips were so stale that it took effort to bite into them. I suggest when a restaurant is called«Lime», then you should serve every dish with a wedge of lime. Especially a fish taco… where was the lime??? The staff was very nice though and made sure we had everything we needed. Maybe they can get it together and add some spice to the food, but I have seen at least three different restaurants in this space and they have all failed. Sad, really.

Store was dirty and the food was below average. I should of known not to go in there because we were the only people in the store. Drive down the road and go to willy’s. Instead of cleaning the staff were actually dancing to bad music. That was a one and out! I will say the staff was friendly.

As many of the other reviews have noted, ‘bland’ is the keyword here. The burrito list is filled with a half dozen options that are nearly indistinguishable – beans, cheese, meat, and pretty much no interesting filling options. I had a veggie skinny burrito, which turned out to be basically half a can of refried beans, shredded iceberg lettuce, rice, beans, and a bit of guac. It had barely any flavor, and the chips were equally lame. Even their salsa selection left something to be desired… there were many choices, but none of them tasted all that good. I hope Lime gets its act together and does something to distinguish itself, because right now it is just not worth it.

Fool me twice, shame on me. I don’t often give 1 stars, but it deserves it. We went again to give them a second try, but it was so bland. I tried covering my food in the salsa, so I could choke down the tasteless dinner. I don’t understand how I paid 3X the prices as Quodoba, chipolte, or Moes, and was so unsatisfied. I’m unsuccessful finding their ingredient list online, because I want to know if their $ 6 Guac is just green sour cream– tastes/texture seems like it is. Beware!

I was okay but not blown away with my first experience at Lime. Had some kind of fish tacos. The ingredients tasted fresh and such, but there was just something missing. No real flavor. I decided to give them a second chance before writing a review. I ate there again last week. It was a similar experience, though further marred by the fact that I did not get my food as ordered(two chicken and one beef taco arrived as three chicken tacos). I know what Lime is going for… something kind of fresh and healthy. But in the absence of all the drippy cheeses and sauces that one craves with Mexican food, you want to at least be able to savor well-seasoned, flavorful meats and salsas. Nothing of the kind. Bland food. And an overabundant selection of salsas — flavorless to the very last one. Don’t waste your money.

Yea, I don’t understand all the negative reviews either. Perhaps Lime really changed their game from when they first opened but I really enjoyed it! I’ve been before in Miami and this location was no different. I like the fish tacos and my husband swears by the Big Cali(which is definitely your best value burrito). I’d like to try the«Nudie» which is a burrito bowl to see how the serving size compares. Service was super fast, there was plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, and the staff comes by to fill up your water from lime infused pitchers which I thought was nice. We had plenty of chips and I could have sat and ate chips and pico de gallo from the salsa bar all day long!

I am very confused by the toxic reviews of this very satisfying spot. From the welcome to my departure, Lime’s served up great service, fantastic food, and a hip, authentic atmosphere. Pebbles — the eatery’s tall, gorgeous green-eyed greeter at the front door — gave me a cheery welcome and made some menu recommendation since this was my first time to the restaurant. She handed me a menu and suggested two items from the menu choices, one being her favorite. Her model-like good looks, friendliness and charm alone would want to make me return for lunch again and again. The burrito combo I ordered was delicious — hot and ready within 8 minutes of putting in my order. The cherry smoothie I ordered topped off my tasty time at this place. While I was eating, several staff members greeted me with a smile, asked how my meal tasted, and offered to take my trash when they saw I was wrapping up. People who work here are young, social, know how deliver service with a smile, and great a memorable customer experience. The prices are moderately high(my bean/rice beef burrito con queso + my fancy beverage) cost about $ 14; but it was well worth the money considering the hardy portion size and hospitable vibe created in this place. This is definitely Midtown’s new hot spot for a trendy lunch in a familiar place.

I would rather gnaw off my own leg and feed it to a pool of ravenous piranhas than return to this monstrous disaster of a restaurant. The food is horrendous, the service is glacially slow, and the atmosphere makes a three ring circus look like a Quaker gathering. Anyone who considers this place to be an acceptable addition to the Midtown restaurant scene needs to check for a pulse or stop spending the weekend home alone with the cats. Food: Reprehensively foul. Although I did like the concept of the salsa bar, the offerings were flavorless and appeared as if they had been festering there for an eternity. I started with the chicken nachos, which were cold, stale, and bland; there were also only three dime-sized flakes of chicken. I also tried the chicken quesadilla, which was miniscule in portion and among the worst I’ve ever ingested. Service: All orders are placed at the counter, the food is brought out to you when it’s ready, and the staff provides drink refills/trash removal during the meal. This type of service structure is fine if the staff is actually competent. We ultimately waited over 10 minutes for the order to be prepared, only to see it paraded around the restaurant and patio for another five minutes while the staff aimlessly looked for our order number, which was clearly displayed on the table the whole time. Atmosphere: This place is nothing more than a glorified fast food restaurant, which is fine if they would just own it. Instead, they attempt to mask the inadequacies of the food by serving alcohol and littering the walls with faux wood paneling and track lighting. As the old adage goes, you can put lipstick on a pig, but it’s still a pig. Cost: Overpriced. Our total bill for two was nearly $ 30, sans alcohol. An order of queso alone costs nearly $ 6. For this price, you can easily find higher caliber Tex-Mex and full table service elsewhere in the area. Other: The degree of professionalism at Lime was among the worst I’ve observed in a restaurant. During my visit, a manager and employee decided to engage in verbal warfare over the employee’s performance review. Aside from the fact that the argument took place at a dining table while they were both on duty and surrounded by countless customers, the manager was also drinking a beer during the exchange.

Just when I thought the bar for fast Mexican couldn’t be set any lower. The décor is shoddy and bizarre. It consists mainly of limes stuck to the walls. The music is too loud for the acoustics of the room, and the staff is even louder. Evidently, their ticket system consists of the cashier shouting your order at the top of her lungs, in your face, as soon as you speak it. The food is universally bland. Meats are overcooked, dry, flavorless and stingy in portion. The salsa bar might have looked like a fun idea on paper, but as the salsas sit out over time they start to look crusty and unappetizing. The salsas contain little or no salt or seasoning, meaning that despite their apparent freshness they offer heat but no flavor. The chips also lack any noticeable salt. It’s sad when even the chips and salsa are inedible. Maybe Lime is going for a healthy, low-sodium angle, but someone forgot their Cooking 101 that at least some salt is needed to make flavors detectable.(Also, protip: when you serve flautas on a bed of pico de gallo it just makes the bottoms soggy.) This is not what a neighborhood in desperate need of quality hangouts needs. We lost Bakeshop for this?

Let me first say that I would come here just to eat chips and salsa. There are six or seven on ice, along with cilantro(yay, separate) and limes. Some guac, which was ok., some queso(so, so and kinda runny) and all the salsas would be enough lunch for me most days. The rest is kinda down hill from there. The fried fish tacos were the best of our order. Not sure what kind of fish, but it was big and fluffy. Heaps of lettuce and tomatoes watered down the sauce, but with so many salsa choices I could forgive. The grilled fish, along with other proteins, was okay, but so stingy, I had to dig it out to taste it. Fried, is much better. The burrito needed help. Lots of help. Mushy beans and even mushier rice were the dominant players, with an almost decorative strip of pretty tasty beef. No delineation of ingredients… everything was just kinda there. The Ding Dongers do better than that! I know everyone is comparing; I’m thinking Chipoltle, with servers. Not very efficient to have to read the menu before ordering at the counter… the menu isn’t on the wall, ’cause this is NOT fast food, it is Quick Service food. Maybe when all the corporate folks depart, everyone can relax, they’ll stop counting the exact number of chicken bits in every taco and let the vast number of servers actually serve a table… not just rush every dish out one by one, all willy nilly. It took four trips to get our order, each spaced about five minutes apart… just enough time to get caught with your hands full when the next plate arrives. I watched my fish tacos take a scenic stroll thru the outdoor seating before coming to rest at my table inside. Still…when I jones for a single fried fish taco, or fresh salsa and don’t wanna go to BuHi… it’ll do! And it will only get better, right?!

Off to a rough start. It could be opening day jitters but it was not impressive. Black bean soup: watery like a broth and bland and flavorless Original taco: Where’s the beef? There was a little more than a tablespoon of found beef for $ 3.00. Steak and cheese taco: This was decent I’ll give it another try in a few weeks when they get settled but this was disappointing. They seemed to have a lot of staff so they were focused on customer service(and marketing since they pushed foursquare deal check-ins).

Starting with the good! I think the salsa bar makes the meal. I wouldn’t eat anything without adding their yummy salsa to it. The chicken queso burrito(sans beans) is by far my favorite. *If it’s made correctly* Love the way they toast the outside. I dont care for any of the tacos. One taco is around $ 3 and may be finished off in 2 – 3 bites. They had a lot of filler(lettuce, cheese, tomato and pico) and several bites were just lettuce. So in that light, it seems like a waste. Tried the nachos with disappointment. Maybe its just me but I hate nachos where its just shredded cheese melted over the top. What happens(Lime being no exception) is you have 5 – 6 nachos full of toppings then the remaining bottom chips are bare. *annoying* Other tried the queso steak burrito as well as the chicken quesadilla, he said he enjoyed them both. My major problem with this place is their inability to make the items per their menu stated ingredients and/or correctly prepare my order per my request(when I pay to add ingredients.) I have yet to receive an order that is correct the first time out. They mangage to mess it up EVERYTIME. Sometimes it requires a remake but most times I put up with the error. Next, it takes a crazy long time to get our food. You would think with how long it takes to bring the food that they’re taking care to make it right, not the case. Finally, it’s a bit pricy for what you get. I guess its hoping to cash in on the location. I think it comes down to expectation management when visiting this place. It’s more along the lines of Chipole/Moe’s rather than an Escorpion/LaFonda experience. So! dont expect to a frou frou gourmet taco with rich flavors. Its a quick alternative that will satisfy those Mexican cravings without having to make a long drawn out night of it. PS… LOVE the new patio seating but the music is way too loud.
