Mark is a crazy. He’s one of the most talented photographers in Atlanta whether he’s doing weddings or headshots or family portraits. He works amazingly hard and it shows in his photos. They’re beautiful.
His work is always beautiful and there are few photographers that I allow to photograph me for my job. I also recommend Mark to anyone who asks. He’s made amazing photos for me and lots of my friends as well and we’ve never been disappointed!

The service and photographs you get from Mark are outstanding and beyond expectations. Our wedding photos were very important to us (as it is to every couple when choosing such a key vendor). We knew from seeing Marks impressive work that we were in good hands. Mark was patient and invisible throughout our wedding day. He has a great personality and is dedicated to doing his absolute best! He made sure to keep everyone on track and made sure to get every shot (even the small details!) Our final pictures arrived extremely fast which was impressive especially for a peak season wedding. The collection of photos captured our special day so perfectly that it’s like reliving it each time we look at them. Mark truly has such a unique and creative eye when it comes to photography and we are beyond happy to have had a chance to work with him. When my husband and I were planning our wedding last January, I knew right away who I wanted as our wedding photographer. I had been following Leah and Mark on a blog called A Practical Wedding for years now. I was living in Charlotte NC at the time but really admired their photojournalistic approach to photography. Their photos tell a tale!
Leah and Mark were the first vendors I booked for my small wedding in November. I booked them before I even had a venue because to me it doesn’t matter where I was getting married, I knew I was still going to have the best wedding photos if I went with Leah and Mark.
My husband and I met Mark at his downtown atlanta office space in January and after signing the contract and graciously accommodating our small budget we parted ways until November. Being an amateur photo enthusiast myself, I knew what kind of photos I wanted from my special day. I had a small budget to work with but I wanted certain photos that I knew I wouldn’t be able to take myself from my camera. So I worked with Mark to come up with a negotiated rate and plan. He was very accommodating. I was over the moon because I got his artistic vision in print for within my budget.
I was able to fill the rest of my wedding album with «fluff» photos I took from my own camera. Yes, I.. . the bride.. . was behind a camera on my wedding day. It had very little to do with me wanting to be in control and more to do with me wanting to capture the photos and memories as best as I could. Our small wedding of 30 people in the small sleepy town of Woodstock was everything I had wanted.
Fast forward to a few weeks ago, I received my thumb drive with the processed photos. I’ve never seen myself look better in photos. Everyone raved about how good we look in the photos and I have to agree. We looked like movie stars!
So book Leah and Mark. You won’t regret it when you finally get to see your photos.

Leah and Mark lost many pictures from our wedding. All of the brides portraits with her wedding party and ALL of the family pictures are gone. They told us in a handwritten note in the mail with no explanation except that they’re just gone. Although Mark keeps saying he’ll make some amends, he has yet to act. Also, he seems to be responding to emails and calls when he knows we’re not available. Our wedding was in July and it has yet to be resolved.
He forgot what portraits we wanted at the wedding. Although some pictures were amazing, many posed pictures were blown out and out of focus. Little mistakes like that can be forgivable, but overall he seemed stretched too thin and it impacted our wedding. I’m still heartbroken that he lost all portrait pictures with grandparents, etc. Things like that are bound to happen from time to time but it has been handled in an extremely unprofessional way.
Use at your own peril.

When my (now) husband and I began our wedding planning we knew that perhaps the most important parts were the food, music, and photography. We got Divine Event for food (amazing, see other review), Spectrum Entertainment for music (same), and Leah & Mark for our photography.
Now it is important to note that we browsed for quite a while before selecting. We oogled over photos, deliberated over contracts, but when we saw Leah & Mark — a lightbulb went off. This was for us. This lightbulb became a glowing ball of light as soon as I had the pleasure of speaking to Mark via the phone the day after I requested the quote. He called me from Phoenix and worked with my time schedule — even going as far as to get up before dawn in order to accommodate me. He is very funny and knowledgable and we just clicked. This was emphasized even greater when we received our contract and it was entitled «The Ravenclaw». My husband about passed out from enjoyment and we signed that day.
We both met with Mark in person about a month before the wedding, just to talk and feel each other out. We ended up having a great time and really got a great sense for who Mark is as a person and the work ethic he possesses. Mark was at the venue on the big day before I was and brought a second photographer, whose name I don’t recall, but who was also excellent. They were around all the time and simultaneously unobtrusive. He was efficient with all of our family photos and danced around my family’s less-​than-​desirable dynamics with finesse. He joked with us and felt more like a friend than a hire.
My husband and I were married on 12÷12÷15 and we received our photos on January 6^th 2016. Bonkers, right? And not just any pictures — about twenty of them were professionally printed and packaged beautifully along with a USB drive full of pictures. We have ~600 beautiful color photos and then duplicate ~600 in HD B&W. His quality and talent far exceeds his price point.
We cannot thank Mark enough for our photos and being a wonderful addition to our wedding. I am sure that we will work together again in the future.

Their contact list asked to rate them before I even meet the photographer or go over their works. So to remain neutral I choose 7.5 since I’m unsure, but they email me back saying they don’t want to work with me because «I’m not excited enough». What a bunch of jerks! I can see being selective since I inquired about price friendly rates, but it’s a NORMAL request to ask about fair pricing. Or even pricing at ALL.
Horrible customer service, if you are in it for the money that is okay but learn how to talk to people.

I don’t know where to begin. SO GATHER ‘ROUND, UnilocalERS. I have a story to share.
Three years ago, I wanted to get some family portraits done. But I wanted REAL pictures and not just lame Walmart Portrait Studio pictures. I had a set idea in mind of what I wanted, too. Something classic and vintage that would look nice on my wall.
During my search, a friend of mine mentioned LeahandMark. So I took a look at their work. Man, I was impressed. They captured exactly the type of photographs I wanted. Real, natural, lifestyle images without the weird tight posing and fake «cheese» smiles.
When I emailed Mark, his response time was flawless. I mean like … within ten minutes flawless. Polite, friendly, FUNNY, and a super energetic guy! Like he really goes out of his way to make you feel like you’re amazing for even considering him. I think that’s why I was sold and hired him. I hired him AND paid the travel fee for him to fly out to Philadelphia and photograph my family. It was worth it. How many people pay a photographer to travel out of his area for FAMILY SESSIONS? Uh, not many. Just this weirdo. But it was so worth it.
When the session was done, we received a preview three weeks later and then the actual prints two weeks after that. TONS of pictures. I mean tons. All top quality and edited to perfection. I could not have been happier. I was thrilled and the envy of my extended family. «Where did you get your pictures done?» was all I heard.
There was a problem with the DVD when it refused to copy pictures onto the harddrive, but Mark QUICKLY resolved the issue and sent us zip files within a week. I mean quickly. He was very prompt about resolving the issue.
Now here we are in 2013, three years later, and who did I go to get new pictures done with my new son?
Walmart.
NO I kid, I kid. Of course LeahAndMark!
This time the session was much shorter (because it was our fault due to tardiness with my family) but he still was able to pump out a lot of pictures at an excellent price. And dare I say he’s gotten even BETTER with his editing and visionary skills? Because the pictures from two years ago can’t even compare to now. Sharp, clear, creative, and beautiful. So I paid the same price for even BETTER quality work. Awesome. He provided a set of b&w and color both in print and WEB format. So I have images to use for Facebook and another set to use for printing. I don’t need to explain how awesome that is.
And delivery time? EVEN BETTER. Instead of waiting close to a month and a half three years ago, we got our pictures in less than TWO WEEKS.
Yes. You read right.
Two. WEEKS.
Most photographers get work out within a span of 8-​weeks or more. But Mark was able to edit all 180+ images and ship it off in TWO WEEKS!
Now that he has a studio, Mark is able to work at an even faster rate than before. This made my mother incredibly happy because she couldn’t wait to see the pictures.
OH, and he made several DVD copies of the images for myself and my family members who were also in the pictures. I DIDN’T EVEN ASK! So I didn’t have to make extra copies like we were planning, he did the work all on his own! I think it’s because he heard me tell my sister that I would make her a copy when it got here. So the man either knows multiple copies is handy or he’s a really, really good listener about his customers. Either way, it definitely saved me a lot of time. And the disks work so there were no issues this time.
I am back to being the envy of my family again and I love it. People want to know where I got my pictures done and I just point them to the Facebook page. Of course the problem is that the people asking are not local to Atlanta, lol. I don’t know if anyone is crazy enough to pay for a photog to fly out to their area for just a family session buuuuuuut if you do it, believe me you are not wasting your money. You WILL get your money’s worth!
Yes, he does weddings. But he also does family sessions and SO WORTH it! I can’t stress that enough. So if my review doesn’t finalize that decision for you, then I don’t know what will.

TL;DR — You’re getting your money’s worth when you hire Mark.

From our very first meeting with Leah and Mark, we knew that we had found the right photographer for our wedding — very responsive and professional, with a great approach.
Despite the high volume of work they are doing, we found it very easy to schedule both our initial meeting and our engagement session — making us feel that we were the focus and priority.
This team (Mark, Joy and Intern Andre) not only evoked a sense of confidence in the caliber of their work, but were also a team that we would enjoy grabbing a beer with — genuine, awesome people even without a camera in sight.
It wasn’t just us that was impressed — Our guests continue to express to us how much they loved our photographer, and that the photobooth they provided was a highlight of their evening.
Our confidence was delivered against as we received a stunning set of photos well in advance of the timeline we expected — showcasing how Leah and Mark & Co. are focused on quality of experience and output, over-​delivering on both.

This review comes in 2 pieces. The easy going nature of the photography was MUCH appreciated as well as the creativity/​quality of photos. Mark was fun to work with and very on top of everything the day of the wedding. We’re quite happy with the actual product.
Unfortunately the delivery of the photos took much longer than expected (~2 months) and the purchased video is claimed to have been corrupted and lost. There very well may have been reasonable circumstances leading to both these but this was not communicated in a timely manner and still goes unresolved as of today. Many of our communication attempts remain unanswered.
I’d recommend using them only with a tighter written contract or specific riders accounting for this possible lapse in service. Hard to give a positive rating when not delivering a significant portion (the video!) of the product. Obviously, this does not sit well on our side and has been very hard to accept for such an important life event, from such a respected photographer. :(

I have known Leah and Mark for years, before the marriage, before leahandmark, and before BabyRox. They are wonderful people who love life and each other. They are a wonderful couple who truly care about their business and how their customers are treated. They care about the world they live in, and give proceeds to a nonprofit that assists women in 3^rd world countries startup their own business. I’m here to review their work, but I truly believe their work reflects them and the positive energy they have for life.
Mark is truly a wonderful photographer that captured my engagement photos and wedding day and incidentally created a theme for our marriage. Trung and I got engaged under a tree on December 25^th 2011, for our engagement session6 5 months later, we took photos in a wooded area. Mark took took beautiful photos under a trees for us, and Leah & BabyRox came to help us smile and keep our dog focuse on some photos .
For our wedding day Mark captured a beautiful artistic moment of us from a down view angle of us, with branches coming out in all directions. That Picture will one day be a huge canvas in our home. Through out the wedding, Mark and his team we non-​stop working. With that hard work resulted in more then 1500+ photos.
We are an easy going couple, but I knew what I wanted and shared this with Mark, and he executed it without a beat. What is even more amazing is because Leahandmark are such an amazing and positive company, they attract wonderful interns! The entire crew worked from my rehearsal dinner the day before the wedding, up to waking up at 6am on day of wedding to take photos on getting ready (both bride and groom in different locations), to manning a photo-​booth and capturing photos throughout until midnight! If that is not superman work don’t know what is !
Leah handles the business end of leahandmark, and kept this worry-​wart bride carefree, she verified dates, locations, and was just a wonderful! She and BabyRox also started people dancing on the dance floor by being the first to boogie it down on the dance floor !!
Love leahandmark and will be using them for all our future fancy photos!

If you are looking for someone to photograph your wedding, you should look no further. You will spend A LOT of time with your wedding photographer (if they are any good) and you will keep these photos for the rest.of.your.(married)life. Mark of
photographed our wedding last month. We got married in June 2012 at the High Museum in Atlanta, GA. Mark, Niki Malek (their former intern and star in her own right; she will get her own rave review), and one of Mark’s current interns, Madeleine were with us the whole day. And it was a LONG day. We started with yoga at 7am and ended with a send off at 11:30pm. We changed locations three times. We had a large wedding party and a huge guest list. Part of why we chose Leah and Mark is that we fell in love with their personalities. We’ve seen them work events before and they have a fun and yet calm aura about them. The other reason we chose them is that we have confidence in their work. They have not disappointed.
We shared the preview of wedding photos with our friends and family. The true testament to their skills is that people who saw the photos described the wedding in the same words as those that were there. So much of the energy of the day was captured in just a few photos. We are so proud of the work Mark’s team did. I will update this review once we get the full set, but I can say now that spending our «Big Day» with Mark and his crew put us at complete ease and seeing what they’ve captured thus far confirms that we picked the best photographers in town. period.
Oh yeah – their prices are totally decent too. BONUS.

LeahAndMark, and also Leah & Mark, are fantastic. I was an intern during the 3^rd season of the 3-​month long internship they provide, and I wouldn’t trade my time with them FOR THE WORLD.
I learned so much, generally became a better person and a much better artist, and gained so many awesome new friends. Definitely an experience I recommend to others.

I cannot say enough about Mark and +Raven. They came all the way from Atlanta to be AWESOME and take pictures at our wedding. From the moment we met (actually, from the moment we started talking online last year) they felt like friends.
They are super professional and proficient, directing people with clarity and elegance, quickly and cleanly getting formal shots. But where they really shine is in their ninja-​like ability to get pictures of things that no one would think of or expect, and to be completely stealthy even when they’re literally inches from your face taking a picture.
They also provided emotional support during a slightly stressful hair and makeup session (bonus!). Not to mention, the week before the wedding, when I thought I might want a photobooth, they totally made it happen (which means lugging extra heavy (and extra-​heavy) equipment through airport security). And it was awesome.
I would recommend them without hesitation for anything — wedding, bat mitzvah, party, new baby, or just a super normal day that you want documented. You will have new best friends. And the pictures will be the most amazing you’ve ever seen, I promise.

I’d like to quote Zack E, who stated it so perfectly, «Having seen the photo shoots that Leah and Mark had done in the past, there wasn’t much debate as to who was going to do our portraits once the latest addition to our family arrived.» As a matter of fact, it was some of the shots of Zack’s newest addition that made me want
even more.
Mark was nice enough to do a 2-​part shoot since we had struggle scheduling the first part for a time when my husband could also be around. For the first part, it was Mark as a solo shooter, taking shots of me and the little one. I love! love! love!!! all the ways that Mark plays with light. And the pictures on my desk get so many compliments (not just because I have the world’s cutest baby).
It just so happened that the weekend we agreed on for the second shoot was the weekend when my entire family (parents, brother’s family) was coming to Atlanta. Since it’s a once-​a-​year event for my whole family to get together, I took this as a happy sign for the universe. Since there were 6 adults, a toddler, and an infant, we got the skills of Leah and Mark and Marj. For whatever reason, my 2yo nephew wasn’t interested in being photographed, but the team worked their magic. They convinced him to jump and have fun and made it work for him (Marj even put it on her blog:
). To be perfectly honest, I’m not sure my very traditional parents understood what was going on, since they usually prefer a lot of direction and stiff, formal poses, but they warmed up as they saw how well the team worked with Clay. And the best part of having the 3 of them for the family was that they were always taking shots. Their candids are great, and with so many of us in different combinations, there was plenty of time for candids.
I do recognize what Juan M said about wanting to pick the shots, but considering how amazing the shots are that I got, I can’t believe that I would have done a better job with that. After all, they’re the artists, and I’m an engineer, so I’ll leave that to them.

Talk about a dynamic duo!
I’ve always been a fan of the vintage look and feel of old photographs and admire those who can recreate that throwback look using modern digital means. Mark and Leah have that down to a T, but there’s more to this husband and wife team than that.
You see, Mark has a great eye. He tries multiple angles, different looks, smiling and not, weird props (why hello there, abandoned bulldozer!), unique spots, and excellent lighting. He’s very good at creating a well-​rounded composition and knows exactly what to do. If it’s not working from one angle, you better believe he’s going to try another.
Couple all this with the fact that these two are ultra sweet and you’ve got yourself a very pleasant and completely stress-​free shoot. I thought I would be tense, but Mark’s no-​nonsense approach actually helped bring out the spark my boyfriend and I were wanting to have captured. This isn’t to say Mark was all business; we had plenty of laughs and jokes, talking about our week and nibbling on ice cream. No photographer wants you to be tense, and Mark made sure we both felt at ease the entire shoot. Leah wasn’t on our particular shoot, but having seen some of her shots from weddings as well as the gorgeous packaging job she does, it’s safe to say that she’s every bit as talented as Mark.
If you’re in the market for photos and you want something a little different, do look into these two. With a team of interns and armed with extensive knowledge and talent, you’re guaranteed some excellent memories.

I can’t say enough good things about Leah and Mark not only as amazing photographers and business people, but as just plain ol’ awesome people. As a person that prefers to be behind a camera rather than in front of it, I was a little iffy about having pictures taken, but I was in dire need. The boyfriend and I hadn’t had any good pictures taken in pretty much the entire 5 years we have been dating, and the families were starting to get antsy.
We chose Piedmont Park (which I know, is pretty cliché for a couple’s photo shoot, but I knew Mark and Leah would make it awesome and creative no matter where we were.) It was 20 degrees with a wind chill, and I just didn’t think we could do it. Not only did Mark and Leah take the most amazing pictures I’ve ever had, they made us feel awesome too! «Put your hand here, look this way, chin down, left leg forward…» It was soooo nice not to have to worry about posing. I knew Mark and Leah would tell us what looked best.
I couldn’t be happier with our pictures. The families went crazy and couldn’t stop telling us how beautiful we were. I said it was Mark and Leah’s magic because I never look that good in real life. I will certainly be booking them for future photography needs be it a wedding, a party, or even a product shoot. They do it all, and they do it the best.

Combo review — we purchased a package of photos for our daughter who was graduating from high school and was dissatisfied with the usual exercise that you go through at that age. This is my daughter’s feedback:
4 stars — they were great and I really liked how flexible and encouraging they were in the shooting. It brought down my anxiety level and was great! Why not 5 stars? I wish that I could have had a chance to have reviewed the pictures and selected the final ones — other than that, it was a real 5 star experience
Mine was more along the 5 stars track; as a parent, I appreciated the normalcy of Mark! He totally put us ALL at ease and we enjoyed his banter and easygoing manner. We definitely recommend him and I understand that he is offering a special Unilocalers discount.

Simply put, Lean and Mark are excellent photographers with fantastic service that I’d recommend to anyone looking to get fantastic shots. We had them do a photoshoot for our newborn son and the results were absolutely amazing.
If there’s anything I can add to this discussion, it’s that Leah and Mark compliment each other well in performing the photoshoots. Mark’s a bit more technically inclined and Leah a little more customer service inclined. What you end up getting is an awesome team that makes the entire process a breeze and very fun. I agree with Rachel E that Leah & Mark really listen to their customers and go out of their way to get some creative shots.
I’ve already booked several more photoshoots with them as their schedule gets filled pretty quickly. I highly recommend this double duo to anyone looking for great photographers. I even have friends who live in Korea and California that have asked if they can book them for a photoshoot! Do yourself a favor and get in touch with these guys. I’m considering them to do a video shooting session as well. I’ll probably update my review once I finish my planned photosessions with them.
Price wise they are very affordable & reasonable. They provide you with prints of all the shots plus a DVD with all the high quality digital prints and rights to reprint as often as you’d like. This is saying a lot considering I was about to go to Target to do photoshoots for my son and they do not provide nearly as much service nor flexibility. Pricewise too, Target would certainly be more expensive to get what you do with Mark & Leah.

Leah and Mark took pictures of our newborn when he was 10 days old. The two most important things that we wanted was to have pictures that would capture the essence of our family but also would reflect our style and demeanor. They did this with such ease.
Leah and Mark are both exceptionally creative. But, their best asset I’d say is their ability to really listen to what their clients want and to translate that into their own photography done in their own artistic style.
We could not have asked for anything more for our baby’s pictures. We constantly have people ask us who did these pictures for us and I gladly recommend LeahAndMark. It is pretty special when people tell you that your baby’s pictures belong in a magazine, museum, or calendar. They are just that good.

I should preface this review by stating LeahAndMark haven’t actually taken any photos for us YET but I feel I can review them based on other factors.
They will be the photographers for our wedding in October and we recently hired them for a family photo session for my new nephew as well, born just a few days ago.
They are exceptionally easy to work with through emails, ease of payment with paypal options, have a great website showcasing their portfolio, and were a pleasure to meet to arrange the initial contract for the wedding. And they are a wonderful couple as well (as it seems many people on Unilocal already know.)
My fiancée and I look forward to working with them in the future and have no qualms recommending them based on our interactions with them thus far. They are truly a class act. Book them now before they get even more popular, they already have been featured on offbeatbride.
