Le Macaron

Flavored were very unusual and unappealing. Éclair tasted like a rubber tire. To top it all off, $ 20 for 6 little macaroons and a terrible stick that tasted like a flat tire? Yuk.

I passed by this place on my way trying to find a nail salon. Once I left the salon this place was still on my mind. I walked in and was surprised to see gelato and chocolates. I ended up buying the Belgian Chocolate, Madagascar Black Vanilla, Salted Caramel, Raspberry, Lemon Cream and Lavander White Chocolate macarons. I also bought a purple piece of pineapple chipotle chocolate that was really good and half price. Overall I was really impressed with this place. I didn’t really care for the belgian chocolate macaron. I’ll be back to try more flavors.

I’ve never had macaroons but I’ve been wanting to try them. I just so happened to be at happy hour across the street at Gordon Biersch and looked over and saw the macaron place and realized that I had it bookmarked on Unilocal (perfect!).
There are so many different flavors when you walk in but I settled on the Rose and the Lavender White Chocolate. I sat outside at one of their tables to enjoy the beautiful evening and see what the macaroon hype was about. I didn’t know what to expect but they both were pretty good. I probably liked the white chocolate a little better though. They also had samples of the coffee macaroons and that one was ok. I spent $ 5 on 2 so it’s not a cheap sweet tooth fix lol.

Stopped in today for the first time after walking and driving past this place all the time. I’m glad I stopped in. I like the fact that they offer interesting flavor combinations that you don’t find in a typical macaron outfit.
They sell other treats, but I only tried the macarons (3 macarons @ $ 2.50 each). The flavors I tried were: Basil White Chocolate, Gingerbread, and Chocolate Praline. They were all very tasty and the flavors were wonderful. I thought the actual cookies were well-​executed. There’s another bakery just a few doors down that offer similar products, but their flavor combinations are not as interesting. I’d recommend popping into Le Macaron if you’re in the market for a sweet little treat.
The shop itself is incredibly cute and clean. It has outdoor seating as well. I’m glad I gave this place a try since my curiosity was getting the better of me. However, I’ll probably stick my other go-​to spot for macarons since they have better prices.

My friends and I came here last night and was so blown away. Olan was so amazing and so helpful.

Le Macaron is probably my second favorite macaron shop in Atlanta for me. Even though these are imported from Florida, the texture is perfect — crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside, with the right amount of filling to balance everything out. They offer more than just chocolate and vanilla flavors — for example, try a more savory one like basil white chocolate. These are pretty pricey at $ 2.50 a pop and even more if you want your treats to be packed in the black boxes. If I’m in the area, I’m likely to stop by but I wouldn’t go out of my way. They don’t have their own parking area, so look for street parking or the garage a few blocks down.

Nice place for some really good deserts. The staff took the time to explain the different flavors and was knowledgeable about the ingredients in each. We got a dozen for the four of us and they were gone in 24 hours, everyone enjoyed having their own flavors. I do wish they would not use artificial colors as I have a child who is allergic to Red 40 and was unable to have a couple of her favorite flavors.

I stopped by today with a major sweet tooth. I sampled the coconut chocolate gelato– excellent and creamy! I’m not a coconut fan at all but this was really good. No chunks of coconut. Blended. I also got two of the specialty chocolates– mint chocolate chip and guava cheesecake. The mint chocolate chip was my favorite. Then I loved onto macaroons. Mint White Chocolate, Lavender White Chocolate, and Sicilian Pistachio. All delicious and made fresh.

Can’t even explain how badly I WANTED to like this place. I seriously did. It’s designed keeping in mind the amusement, the childish experience of eating a macaroon. Beautiful design, especially for such a small space. They’ve done a phenomenal job with the designers across the chain.
Here is where things fell apart. It was the actual macaroons! After eating Ladauree in Paris and many other Macaroon spots across the world, these were just not good. They weren’t even the level of Macaroons you get as room service at Atlanta St Regis. I don’t mean not good as a matter of taste, I wouldn’t have given it two stars. These were not fresh! They don’t make macaroons in house and it was very noticeable. Freshness was mixed between flavors, some were slightly better than others, but generally not fresh.
Texture was also disappointing. It was too bready, not enough moisture. It was a pathetic attempt to be frank.
Back to the positives, they have Marie Antoinette tea from Paris. A rare and exquisite tea, thus an absolute must, after all how many times in your life will you drink tea made with rose petals from Marie Antoinette’s garden in Versailles? It’s even served in nice tea cups and staff were awesome. However, given that one would come here to macaroon and macaroons themselves were just so disappointing, I can’t give any higher rating than 2 stars.

I’ve moved away from Atlanta already, but love to swing by here whenever I’m in town :) For true serious macs lovers who’s very particular about the taste and texture, I would say, this place is one of the best in Atlanta IF you catch them on the day when they Just put the new ones out. Because they are shipped from Tampa, I feel like after a few days of it sitting out on display that the texture is not the same anymore and true macs lovers can tell it’s not as fresh anymore. But the variety in flavors and the taste of them are great. My favorite is the Lychee Rose, Lavender White Chocolate & Raspberry. The Mademoiselle tea is my favorite there. And as for coffee, I’ve fallen in love with the Rose Cappuccino! Must try!

Very unique concept and one that you don’t see very often in Atlanta! Truly enjoyed my visit and the gelato was good.
Prices: on the expensive side so dig deep in your wallet. The small candies are $ 2.50 each and the macaroons are also $ 2.50 each!!! But because it was my first visit and I wanted to taste as many things as possible we got 2 gelato’s (one in a cone and one in the medium cup). The cone with the Gelato was around $ 9 and the medium cup with the Gelato was around $ 7.
Grand total spent on 4 macaroons, 5 candies and two Gelato’s $ 34!!!
Décor: Very nice Parisian theme, pinks and pastel colors everywhere and just makes you want to stay there and enjoy your treats.
Selection: Was going to go to Paolos Gelato Italiano but they were closed today (very strange, said their only open Thursday — Sunday). So Le’ Macaroon was it! Worked out good because they also sell Gelato. However they had about 6 flavors so not much of a selection. But of course they mainly focus on macaroon’s so that is to be expected.
Flavor: The Gelato was very good but then again this was my first time having it so I have nothing else to compare it to. A very wide selection of macaroon flavors in pretty colors but there was no flavor on any of the one’s that I tried.
Repeat visit: Yes definitely but will not be spending $ 34! :-)
Recommended: Yes I would recommend that you try it just don’t be surprised at the prices!

We were visiting ATL and decided to get some macarons for our friend’s birthday. Unilocal helped me find 2 shops so we did a head-​to-​head comparison. Sadly, Le Macaron left me feeling underwhelmed.
PRO: The shop is conveniently located in midtown with some metered parking around the corner. It is VERY cheery inside, brightly lit with a lot of pink. Besides macarons they sell chocolates, gelato, and a few small pastries. The staff was pretty friendly and offered tips on the most popular flavors.
CON: The flavors do not come through very strongly on some varieties. The vanilla, salted caramel, and raspberry had mere hints of those flavors (cappuccino, lemon, and chocolate were much better in comparison). Also the amount of filling is inconsistent. One macaron only had a tiny spot of filling that covered maybe a third of the cookie!
For the price ($ 2.50) and size (petite), I was expecting more. I would suggest going to Amelie’s near GT for larger and more flavorful macarons.

the hype and sweet cravings brought us here. just like the bubble tea craze, macaron shops have been popping up left & right as well.
sadly, I can’t vouch for the hype for «le macaron»; which my friend agrees. not sure if we came on a bad day or perhaps it’s still too early for them. but after tasting 4 macarons, we concluded that the pattern was consistent. all the macarons were slightly undercooked. some of the cookie part of the macaron were rested decently and some were just mushy to the touch. as we bit into the cookie, we even noticed the texture inside the cookie was worse. if you thought the outside was undercooked, the inside was a tad worse. you can tell it was still wet and doughy-​like.
certain flavors were decent-​to-​good, while others were just mediocre. the flavor combinations here are definitely unique to an extent and beautifully presented. I can’t say that their flavors pop out as their names. or example, the lychee-​rose-​raspberry macaron was evidently only rose. the lychee and raspberry flavor were non-​existent with this macaron.
I do admit this has got to be the softest macarons I’ve has in atlanta thus far. it could have been better — had they baked them for a just slight minute or so and let it rest for a bit. they just need to work on perfecting their timing/​monitering and ratios for their flavors.

Popped in here for a sweet treat after a day-​long conference. The interior of the shop was tres cute — a girly, clean look with a lot of hot pink (waaaay better than pastel. When I come to eat macarons, I don’t need to feel like I’m in an eight year-old’s bedroom).
On to the macarons! I tried the vanilla, Belgian chocolate, and pistachio because I like to compare the «standard» flavors among others I’ve tried. The vanilla is one of the best vanillas I’ve had anywhere, rich without being too perfume-​y. Pistachio was my favorite — a classic, well-​executed. Also tried the gingerbread, salted caramel, and Colombian coffee. Gingerbread — not recommended: tasted of actual fresh ginger which was off-​putting in a macaron. Salted caramel wasn’t very salty or caramel-​y. Colombian coffee: dreamy! Get one!
Service was friendly and efficient. Would definitely return!

I’m pretty picky about my macarons and still struggle to find ones in Atlanta that are just right. I’ve had Ladurée in NYC and Paris which are the standard by which Macarons are judged.
This place is very convenient, located in midtown right on Peachtree, and I can walk there from work which is a plus. It’s bright, clean, and the bright colored macarons are displayed in a nice glass case.
I tried the Salted Caramel, Raspberry, Walnut, and Lemon. The Walnut and Lemon were my favorites. They’re pretty good, although the outside was a little too papery/​crispy for me vs the crisp/​chewy that I prefer. The flavors were pretty good. Macarons were $ 2.50 each.
I’m disappointed they don’t make the macarons locally, but overall it’s a nice place to have in midtown — I hope they do well!

Super cute interior, delicious cookies, AMAZING gelato, awesome service, and great location all combine to make this one of my favorite new places in Midtown!

This is a beautiful little cookie/​chocolate/​gelato spot. All their macarons ($ 2.50) and chocolates ($ 2) look absolutely gorgeous and are tasty too! I’m happy something so unique is in midtown.
They have about 6 flavors of gelato and Nespresso coffee as well.
I have some concerns with their ability to stay open with Sweet Hut so close and macarons/​chocolates not being something people buy with a lot of frequency. I hope their gelato and coffee sales add to their macaron/​chocolate sales to allow them to stay open.
With a lack of ice cream or gelato in midtown I think I’ll end up being here a bunch.

Besides a gloomy, haze overcast. There were still a good amount of people out and about. While taking some photos, I would noticed that people would walk by the store at first. Until they noticed all the scrumptious macarons in the display window with the vanity lights. The hot pink chairs outside really didn’t stop them in their tracks. Most patron’s also seem to just grab a box of macarons to go vs enjoying it there.
As for the store, there are a couple of chairs and tables scattered outside. A temporary banner hangs outside for the store sign.
Inside, feels like modern, minimalist. Not counting the mini Eiffel towers full of plates of macarons in the window. Seating inside is about 4 – 5 tables with a booth like seating running one side of the wall, with chairs coupled up.
[Service]:
We were greeted right away, and allowed to just glance around at all the flavors and other treats they sold. Which I like as we weren’t feeling rushed or obligated to actually buy anything. One of the employees grabbed a belgian chocolate macaron kept in the mini fridge and cut it into fours for us and others to sample. They also waited until we asked, which flavors they liked before trying to make any suggestions. The flavors of gelato /​yogurt /​sorbet in front are limited to the amount of selection, but looks very tempting and they were glad to hand out samples. Even though they sell bottled water, each employee was happily willing to give us a cup of water. As well as asking if we would like ice.
Similar to my trip to LA, it’s cool to know that some shop’s such as this are current with the times and understands social media. They playfully requested that I tag them when I posted the pics I took. As well as even making some room to move out a display so that I could take a better pic of all the macaron’s.
[Food Highlights]:
Disclosure — I am no way a macaron expert or connoisseur.
Rose Lychee Raspberry Macaron — Subtle on the front end and middle, but you taste a hint of the lychee on the back end. This one is ok.
Rose Macaron — A milder tone of flavor throughout. Also ok.
Lavender White Chocolate Macaron — Smells like lavender. The taste is subtle at first, then carried a bit more throughout to the end. I liked this one.
Basil White Chocolate Macaron — One of the cashiers hinted that this one is borderline «weed» on the smell LOL. The taste isn’t something I can really pin though. It’s not bad.
For all the macaron’s there, none were overwhelming on taste via richness or overly sweet. You taste the actual flavors, though subtle.
Viktoria Richards chocolates:
Guava marscapone — hmm, didn’t really taste anything distinctive with this one. Pass.
Pumpkin Blood Orange Caramel — I would describe this as, eating a slice of pumpkin pie, between sheets of chocolate. Mmm. Though, I didn’t taste any caramel. Good to try.
{Summary}:
The whole appeal of the macarons being gluten free, is a plus but not something I really worry myself. But taste wise, I would have to say these are the best that I’ve had so far in Atlanta. Yes, beating out Mac Lab. And edging out Macaron Queen, just due to these aren’t tasting overly sweet. But, if you like yours to accompany sweetness and the macaron flavor, Macaron Queen might be up your alley. Now if only they could use the gelato they have and make a macaron gelato sandwich, mmmm. 5 stars.

This store was so cute! I had to go in and buy some! All the flavors I had were fantastic and the service was really good too.
It’s definitely worth going into when you’re wandering and having a sugar craving. XD

This place opened up in my building and I was very excited to check it out.
It’s simply gorgeous and the desserts are amazing. A great was to get started is with the tarts and then move up to the macaroons and chocolates.
It’s a little pricey but for sure worth it.
