Business Owner

John Polstein has played a primary management role in Kaplan’s transformation into the $ 2.3 billion educational services company it is today. Specifically, he has spearheaded the strong growth of the test prep division, managing the diversification of its offerings into new areas including admissions consulting and online programs, establishing the company as a leader in providing educational services to K12 schools, expanding Kaplan’s book and software publishing division, and initiating Kaplan’s growth overseas.

Since joining Kaplan in 1992, and through all his efforts at Kaplan, Polstein has dedicated himself to helping students meet and exceed their goals and enhance their opportunities for success.

Polstein is an active member of the board of directors of Reading Is Fundamental, a national non-​profit literacy organization. He received his B.A. from Amherst College and his M.B.A. from Harvard Business School.
