J Patrick Posey, DDS

I had an awesome experience on my last visit to Dr. Posey’s office! Dr. Posey and his staff were very friendly and extremely professional. I’m actually looking forward to my next visits to the dentist, and I know that has to be shocking because no one ever says that! #HappyPatient

I’ve been a patient of Dr. Posey for at least 15 years. He’s in my office complex, so it’s so convenient to walk next door to see my dentist. The convenience is great but Dr. Posey and his team are what keeps me coming back. They are all just wonderful. They make you feel comfortable and take really good care of my teeth. My husband drives all the way from Lithonia to Buckhead for his dental care.

Dr. Posey has been my dentist for most of 20 years. His staff is on top of things. I have had crowns, teeth filled and he also referred me to a pareodontest that I also am happy with. I have never had any issues with him or his office staff. I am a little baby when it comes to a dentist, but always leave happy that I went. IVe also needed to call him whilehe was on vacation. He answered his phone and took care of me from there.

Dr. Posey and his staff are discourteous and often condescending. Additionally, the doctor rather suspiciously found 9 cavities after the hygienist suspected only 2 to 3. A second opinion determined that there were indeed only 3.

I’ve been a patient of Dr. Posey’s practice for almost 10 years and have never been disappointed. The hygienists are caring and lovely ladies, the office staff is courteous and respectful and Dr. Posey himself is kind and caring. The staff takes a personal interest not only in my teeth but in my life outside of their office as well.
I have never felt pressured to get procedures that are unnecessary, and have even been talked out of optional procedures that I was thinking about. Billing has always been thoughtless, and scheduling a snap. In fact, I have a pretty insane work schedule and I have numerous times called to move appointments around (sometimes several times!), and the staff is always pleasant and happy to do so.
Overall I have to highly recommend Dr. Posey and the crew over there. If a dentist in the Buckhead area would be convenient to you, and, honestly, even if it wouldn’t, taking your chompers to Dr. Posey’s office is going to be worth it.
To comment on one of the other reviews, while Dr. Posey may always be searching for cavities… that’s kind of the job of a dentist. And, in fact, when Dr. Posey found a soft spot on my tooth during my last visit, they looked at the x-​rays and the tooth carefully and opted to not do anything about it until after my next visit. I am hoping that I won’t need to get it filled. If I do, I have no worries about having Dr. Posey perform the procedure.

I first started going to Dr. Posey about 7 years ago when I lived out of state and would schedule my appointments for when I was visiting Atlanta. (Yes, he’s THAT good that it was worth it.) I eventually moved down here and can’t imagine ever going to another dentist.
Dr. Posey and the entire staff (Misty, Kim, etc.,) are wonderful beyond words. They go out of their way to make sure I am comfortable and happy. They are considerate, compassionate and always take care with what they are doing. They make me feel like a friend, rather than a patient, every time I walk in the door.
I can honestly say that I genuinely look forward to my visits. Most people cringe at the thought of going to the dentist, but at Dr. Posey’s, it’s so enjoyable that it’s actually a highlight of my week! Give them a try and you definitely won’t be disappointed! :)

Left Dr. Posey a few years back after many years. Some of the staff is still the old Gene Willis staff who were wonderful but the entire office culture has taken a turn for the worse in recent years. I don’t doubt Posey is a good dentist, but can be cold, pessimistic, unfriendly, and seems to be always searching for cavities.

I have been going here for about 8 years and absolutely love it. I have never felt this comfortable with a dentist before. He is so patient and gentle. The staff is friendly and helpful.
