I like it. The service is good and the food taste great. Perhaps the other reviewers are talking about a time in the past when the resturant had a lull in quality. The beef patty are tasty, the prices are fair and I personally think the food is really good. Try it for yourself. edit — This place is good sometimes but not consistent enough

Time has not been kind. A few years ago, when I live in Clarkston, I would drive from there to this location on Old National Highway just to eat their jerk chicken or get a beef pattie, and this place would always be packed. Not so much. I went in this past Saturday, and I was the only person in the entire resturant. In the time that I was there, and ate my food, only one other person came in. They have a menu sign hanging over the register, but it had no pricing, so when the lady handed me a menu from underneath the cash register, I knew something was off. I gave up meat(with the exception of seafood) for Lent, so I asked her for a vegetable pattie. She says they only offer those during the week. It was Saturday, the lady that takes your order informed me they don’t sell lunch plates on Saturday, only during the week. I balked at this, because I was on a lunch break from a seminar I was attending near here, and didn’t want to go back too full, so I asked her if she would be willing to sell me the lunch plate. She agreed and reduced the cost by half. I went with the curry talapia and shrimp with yellow rice, cabbage and carrots. The best part of the entire meal was the yellow rice. It seemed as if they had taken a piece of talapia and cut it into 4 or 5 pieces and the shrimp were so small, they couldn’t even be described as salad shrimp. The cabbage must have been sitting in water for days because it was waterlogged and had no flavor, and the carrots must have been«steamed» in a microwave, because they were hard on one end and mushy on the other end. Total waste of $ 8. Thank goodness I didn’t order a drink. 16 of 100

They have the best Jamaican food on the south side. I always enjoy my meal no matter what I order.

we needed a quick bite to eat after leaving the airport on our journey to south georgia. i’ve stopped at this exit before to grap a subway sandwich and keep on the road. this time, my wife was with me and since we consider ourselves occasional food adventures, we peeked in here to eat. can you say Captain Waits A Long Time Sir? 45 minutes! we wanted to eat inside, but after that wait, we had to take turns driving and eating. my shrimp curry jamaican style was filled to the brim with greasy rice and 4 shrimp, some greasy oversteamed cabbage and carrots, and 2 plantains… which were actually quite tasty. i felt like someone opened my mouth and dumped a pile of soggy wet greasy bricks in my belly. i didn’t poo for 2 days after this meal. i picked at my wifes«steamed» whole red fish. she’s not use to eating whole bone-in fish, so it was a surprise to her to open her to-go box and a whole fish is staring at her… with bones. i attempted to explain, but she only picked at the rice and veggies(same sides). i liked her fish alot more than my shrimp. yes, it’s cooked to order… but so are many of the other places we go to eat out at… and far less wait time with much less oil. i love local flavor but not here again.

We were driving from the airport to South Georgia and initially stopped to get something quick at the Subway which is in this same plaza. This place looked interesting so we decided to give it a try. There was only one other couple inside and the girl behind the counter didn’t know much about the menu. She had to keep going in the back to find out the answers to our questions. I ordered the steamed fish and my husband ordered the curried shrimp. Both came with rice and peas and we got veggies and plantains on the side. I really appreciated that the food was cooked to order right then, so it was fresh and the flavors were terrific. However, we were in quite a hurry and although their sign said the food takes 20 min, it really took more like 45 min. So rather than staying there to eat it and enjoy it, my husband and I had to take turns eating in the darkness of the car. Both meals tasted very good, I especially enjoyed the curried shrimp my husband ordered. I was disappointed in my steamed fish however, in terms of having to pick through all the bones. I was tired, hungry and it was not the meal to eat rushed and in the darkness of the car. We paid about $ 25 for both meals. Worth stopping here if you have the time. NOT a place to grab a quick meal.

Best Authentic Jamaican food that I have tasted in Atlanta!!! Everything is great from the rice and peas to the King fish and I cant forget about my favorite dish which is the sautee shrimp with yellow rice. The location isnt all the great but I hear that some of your best food are in hold in the wall locations. They are a family owned business which I love and they take the time to make friends with there reg customers…
