Absolutely the best Chicken Shawarma wrap that I’ve had in Atlanta. Filling and super delicious. Staff was friendly and welcoming. I’ll definitely be back!

This is authentic Mediterranean food. It was quite tasty, but what really made the experience great was the courteous, friendly staff. They piled as much food on my plate that could fit, and they have fresh lemonade! Very fast.

I went to this for the first time last Thursday and I liked it so much I went again the next day. The first day I had the chicken swarma to go and the 2^nd day I ate order the Steak swarma to dine in. Both were good but I enjoyed the beef version better. However the chicken is probably healthier since it’s not fatty like the beef. I ordered the a side of hummus with the baked crackers and the total for the whole meal was about $ 9 and change. I didn’t really talk to the employees but the man taking orders seems to be the owner or co-​owner. He knew told me the crackers are house made and I heard him telling another customer that the babagonush (excuse me for my spelling) that it was made with the same ingredients as the hummus except they swap chick peas for eggplant. I did order babganous the next day and liked it but I would say I liked the hummus better. The atmosphere is nice, they have a outdoor section too. This place is definitely going to be in my lunch rotation.

While it’s located in a small plaza, Hovan is as authentic and nice as it can get.
The interioris is actually on a fancy side. They have paintings and nice blue lights.
I ordered beef shawarma with one side, soup of the day, which is lentil and chickpea, tomatoes and more. I almost swallowed my tongue for the soup, and overstuffed myself too. It was the best soup of the month. For the shawarma, I liked how soft their beef is, and fresh ingredients that comes with it.
Maybe I should try the restaurants nearby too. All in all, a great experience.

Hovan has excellent food and a very friendly, informative bunch of folks operating the restaurant. Excellent humus, salads and chicken shawarma. Typically there is a daily soup option that is delicious too. Prices are very reasonable and portions are ample. If you like spicy, there is an excellent hot sauce as well. Give Hovan a try!

Hovan Gourmet has the best shwarma I’ve found in Atlanta. Tucked away in a restaurant heavy strip mall in Brookhaven, Hovan used to be located in Perimeter Mall until their lease wasn’t renewed by the mall after 35 years in business… bad for the mall, good for Brookhaven! The new restaurant is nice and simple. Nothing fancy needed here when you have such great food. Try the dates stuffed with almonds for a delicious dessert.

This is the perfect spot to grab lunch! Fresh light food, made fresh, and served by passionate people who take pride in their product. I moved next to this local gem a year ago and find myself frequently craving the food here. Delicious falafels! Crisp, non greasy crust on the outside and tender and flavorful on the inside. I also love the dolmades, tabbouleh, and chicken salad made with Greek yogurt instead of mayonnaise.
The owner is so friendly. The first time I went here I looked like a deer in headlights. He took me under his wing, explained what everything was, gave his recommendations, and filled my hands with taster spoons.
The location is very casual. Come as you are. From people in business suits on their lunch breaks to college students. They have outdoor seating and PBR’s! What more can you ask for on a GA summer day?
I haven’t made it for dinner yet. The dinner menu is different from the lunch menu, so I’m dying to go check it out.

Had the chicken shawarma and Greek salad, both were very good. All the sides look amazing and fresh. The restaurant was small but impeccably clean, which I appreciate. Great customer service.

Fantastic food with remarkable customer service. The owner was at the counter, offering all customers a taste of the various items they had in their deli. We tried the baba ganoush, armenian eggplant salad and their hummus. All outstanding. (We were there at 2 so he has the time to offer tastings, I cant imagine he does this during peak lunch hour.)
For the main dish I opted for the shwarma (beef & lamb mix) while my friend chose the falafel. I thought it was one of the best shwarmas I’ve had in the US, and this is in comparison to doner eaten in Turkey and Germany. The owner explained this has a middle eastern flavor profile. My friend’s falafel was also very good and she recommends getting it the next time. The baba ganoush was smoky and creamy with the perfect amount of garlic and oil. The eggplant salad was surprisingly tasty.
The owner greets all his customers with a smile and a story, a welcome change in fast casual restaurants. Overall I highly recommend going here for a quick lunch.
I wish customers could opt to buy a sandwich and a side or sandwich alone without a combo meal with drinks. (I rarely ever get soda with my meals and it was unnecessary to pay for a drink I wouldn’t have.)

The beef shawarma is so good, don’t be afraid to ask for hot sauce that they pour on it.

Very tasty Mediterranean food at reasonable prices and a very relaxed atmosphere. It has a small, family-​owned feel. No frills, just good quality, delicious food.
They have a fair number of menu items specifically marked as gluten-​free, vegetarian, and vegan, which is very helpful if you have special dietary needs (though be careful: some gluten-​free items like falafel come as a sandwich on the lunch menu, so you would need to specifically order it without the pita).
Overall an excellent local spot.

Great little casual place. Order from the counter and sit and they bring your food out. Food quality was excellent. Portions were generous. Selection was more than adequate. Food is served on plastic plates and with plastic utensils.
Overall, excellent. I WOULD recommend this to a friend and I WILL come back.

Hovan offers a really nice alternative to standard fare and the staff is pleasant, and the gyros fresh! The place is also quite clean, great location.

Falafel sandwich was awesome. The hot sauce was a nice touch. Toubeleh was good and fresh.

My husband and I ate here 1÷6÷16. Our food with tax totaled $ 15.71 (falafel combo @ $ 8.99 + veggie roll @ $ 5.69 + tax @ $ 1.03), which is stated on our receipt that I kept. They had a tip jar, but we did not tip because the service was horrible; they were having an issue with another one of their stores and were more interested in dealing with that than with us. When I checked my credit card statement it stated the charge was $ 20.71, so basically they tipped themselves very nicely, $ 5, about 30%.
When my husband contacted them to complain they did not respond. My credit card refunded the $ 5 because it was not worth their time/​trouble to bother with it. I’m wondering if the people here know that or just hope their customers will not notice.
The food was decent, but if they will add nearly 30% more to your charge card than what your food actually cost, then I wonder what they may do with the food to cut cost.

Holy Hovan!!! I’m at a loss for words for how amazing and fresh and delicious my meal was. By far the best mediterranean food I have experienced, although I’ve never been to Greece. I went in one night and placed a to-​go order about 15 minutes before they closed… yes, I was one of those people. The employees didn’t seem to mind at all though. They were very friendly and helpful.
Okay, back to the food… I got the falafel platter with hummus and greek salad. After the 20 minute drive home, I still couldn’t believe my taste buds! I also had a bite of the beef shwarma, which was delicious too. I only wish I Hovan was closer to home, like in my backyard. My own personal Hovan to eat everyday, could you imagine? I could. Ok, I digress. Love Hovan!

I get the Chicken Shwarma here, it comes with a side and all the sides are pretty good. Great lunch place and don’t be scared if they have a line, it always moves quickly.
Family owned place and they are friendly to everyone. Ask what they recommend but the best deal is the Shwarma combo.

Food is fantastic, but they’re so not generous with their portion for the price. C’mon, if you’re going to charge that much for 3 sides, give me a generous portion, I promise I’ll come back again!!! Can’t scoop a big scoop of chicken salad and then take some back!
Lunch can be a bit crowded and crazy. Their lentil soup is worth coming back for, but they don’t always have it. Make sure you call to check first before coming if that’s all you’re getting. :)

This is the best Mediterranean restaurant I’ve been to in Atlanta so far! I walked in and was quickly greeted by the staff that worked there. It’s a restaurant in which you order at the front counter, pick your seat and your food comes out to you minutes later. They have many different items to choose from besides the normal gyro and hummus. For example, they are known for their famous roll sandwiches which come in a meat or vegetarian version (quite tasty too!). They have a number of vegetarian and vegan choices on the menu as well. Parking is free right in front of the restaurant which makes everything more convenient and they even have a patio area to enjoy your meal outside.
I enjoyed a beef schwarma combo meal. This isn’t the normal processed gyro meat though! This meat is actually real without all the preservatives. I could truly taste the difference! I had a combo meal which came with two sides. I selected the freshly made Cucumber salad and cold soup. I’ve never had cold soup and I was impressed! It was such a delicious and healthy meal. The falafels are even made from scratch. How can you go wrong?
They have a lunch menu and a dinner menu which starts at 5pm. I will definitely be back soon and definitely recommend this restaurant for someone looking for a real authentic Mediterranean dish!

I live right by here so this is always a great option for when I’m working from home and hungry since their shawarma & side combos are always delicious. The husband & wife owners are typically behind the counter taking your order & making the delicious delicious food.
I love the chips that come with the hummus though I haven’t been adventurous enough to try the other sides. I can order, pay & get my food in ~5 minutes so this is perfect for lunch /​dinner on the go. Plus you can feel good about supporting a local restaurant!
The biggest bummer is the fact that they’re closed on Sundays, forcing us to have to pick something else to eat.
