Pretty sure it’s closed :-(A different bakery is at the address and the phone number doesn’t work. And I was so excited for a vegan deli

My boyfriend and I stopped in this past Sunday on a whim. We were delightfully surprised by how amazing this deli/bakery ended up being that we ordered a ton of food! We first had the special, which was a «turkey» bacon ranch sandwich and a double decker chipotle«turkey» sandwich… SOGOOD thus we had to try more(of course). So we ended up getting the pesto pasta, ice cream, two cookies and a scone for later(we are not shy eaters). If you are vegan or vegetarian, this place is a must! We were shocked that it didn’t have a higher rating on Unilocal so we decided to input! Thank y’all for your awesome food and service! :)

Just amazing. I got the Dagwood with the curry ham on wheat, which was really great. The food was awesome and the staff was very friendly. Also, you can order absolutely anything they have without having to ask if it’s vegan. From the outside, you might not know that Gutenfleischers is inside.

Today we were searching for vegan food in Inman Park and found Gutenfleischers. Unilocal’s reviews for this place were unanimously great, so we went there with high expectations. First, I would like to praise the staff, who prepared our take out order quickly and cheerfully, despite the fact that we walked in 10 minutes before closing.(They close at 3PM on Sunday.) Next, I would like to praise the beauty and the construction of the deli sandwiches we ordered, which had a nice-sized stack of 3 types of Italian-style deli«meats» thinly sliced, and dressed with mustard, vegan mayo, fresh lettuce, thinly-sliced tomato, peppers and onions. All on whole wheat bread, which, since Gutenfleischers is in a bakery, we assumed would be something special. Good bakery bread should have a nice crust. On the inside the bread should be slightly dense and chewy, neither too moist nor too dry. Unfortunately, the sandwiches did not taste as good as they looked. One problem was that the bread was too dry. The texture was too open, kind of like bad supermarket French bread, and it didn’t have much of a crust, also like bad supermarket French bread. In addition to its dry, open texture, the bread was way too thick for the sandwich. It was a bit of a chore to chew and swallow. It was also too salty, which did not help. The other problem was that the deli«meats» on our sandwiches, while tasty enough, were too oily and salty for our taste. Eight hours later I am still thirsty from eating this sandwich. Along with our sandwiches we ordered sides of kale salad and potato salad. They were both spot-on delicious! Each sandwich came neatly wrapped in two sheets of deli paper, and some pickle spears wrapped in paper were also included. I think this place is worth returning to. It is wonderful to have a vegan deli in town, and I want them to know we appreciate them being here! That said, next time I come here I will try other«meats» and other breads. Some reviewers have praised the«roast beef», the«turkey», and the baguettes, so I will try those as well as some of the other items they liked. But I personally will avoid the Italian-style«meats» and the whole wheat bread.

My guy and I came here after church today because we are on the Daniel Fast(no meat, sweets or sweeteners, leavened bread, or extremely processed food) and we are sick and tired of salads. Tired of them, I say! I looked up a couple of places earlier this week, and Gutenfleischers definitely caught my eye due to it’s high ratings and, hello, it’s a deli. Delis are awesome. First, it was a little hard to find, but because I remembered that it was connected to Dough Bakery, we found it eventually. We walked up to the counter and spoke with a couple of the employees, explaining that we are on a fast and had a very restricted diet. They were very nice and exceptionally helpful, consulting their recipes and the kitchen employees to make sure that what we ordered was in line with the fast. We ordered the kale and carrot salad, potato salad, a couple of «roast beef» slices, vegan gumbo, and I had a salad with«genoa salami» slices on top. Everything was sooooooo good, and that is coming from a self-confessed carnivore. The kale and carrot salad and the potato salad, made with tofu mayo, were the highlights. All it needed was a little salt and pepper, and we were in business! They have a refrigerator case full of goodies, as well as the bakery which is in the same building. I can’t wait to try their biscuits with veggie sausage and their other baked goods. I am really excited about coming back to try a true sandwich, as they also bake their bread. Oh! Also, we ordered a pound of the«roast beef», and the salads to go and it came up to…$ 33. That’s it. Amazing.

Wowowowowow — thank you for making all of my sandwich dreams come true. Gutenfleishcers is a little counter inside of Dough bakery, and there’s no sign outside so don’t feel weird walking into Dough… it exists! They have lots of options and the sandwiches are delicious. My non vegan friend loved her turkey sandwich… so THERE. And of course buy something from Dough while you’re there. Everything is vegan, everything is tasty and fresh.

Vegan deli. Say what?! This vegan deli is joined together in the same place as Dough’s bakery. Servers were extremely friendly and patient with me as it was my first time in Dough’s/Glutenfleischer’s. So basically you can make your own sandwich by choosing the bread of your choice, meat, toppings, and sauce. I had no idea what to choose. there were so many options! With my wandering eyes, I looked up and there was a dry erase board with their daily specials on it! — Thank you vegan goddess for making my decision so easy! Of course being me, Ms. Indecisive, I went with the special, a Philly«cheese steak» on a wheat roll and a side of their banh mi(Vietnamese po boy) cold PASTA. The po-boy was so hardy and the pasta. oh mylanta. that pasta though. It hit savory, spicy, & yummy! As for dessert on the bakery side, I went with a slice of their king cake. SOGOOD. it had a cream cheese icing and was not any cream cheese I ever had! To top that off… I got the baby! Oh joy. The po-boy, pasta, and dessert all totalled up to only 12 $ !. So worth every penny. So yum! I believe everything you get in here is going to be delish. I would probably come here everyday for a treat/bite if I lived in Atlanta. I Def. Recommend!

OMG, this vegan deli is amazing. No frills as others pointed out, located inside a bakery called Dough(or is it the same business? not sure but the desserts there are also vegan and extremely delish). Ive gone 3 weekends in a row and am afraid I’m becoming a little obsessed. I wish I could camp on the front door and eat there 3 times a day(but then I would lose my job and not be able to afford anything). I’ve had a «turkey» sandwich on white baguette that was to die for about $ 6. Vegan peanut milkshake. Bread pudding. German Chocolate Cake. Spicy VEGANQUESO. Pepperoni(that type that you cut from a long roll like when I was a kid… and I’ve eaten half the roll in one sitting). I mean, last week I was at a vegan restaurant in New York city called Candle 79 and paid $ 50 +tip for 1 person and this food is at the same level if not better. The nice thing as a true deli, you can buy all sorts of items to continue your veganisn/health kick at home. The service is a little slow sometimes but it is because they take their time to prepare things right. Please go, and support this business,…this is not Oregon or California, it is lame-lanta after all and hopefully we can have this business around for a long while. i need it. We all need it.

Pretty fascinating concept(a vegan butcher shop), with tasty sandwiches. Definitely a no-frills kind of place, and I wasn’t in love with every one of the vegan meats but a) the sandwich was great, b) it was cheap, c) watching them slice off the«meat» with a meat slicer totally made my day. The buffalo turkey style was really good. I brought an omnivore friend and she had a good time with it too, partly for the novelty and partly because she really liked the side salads.

I was impressed with this place. It’s all vegan through and through and it’s unlike anything I’ve ever seen before; It’s an all vegan bakery and a vegan deli. They make fresh sandwiches and picnic-like salads, like chicken, pasta, potato and so on. There’s lot of space inside and they have cute decorations without questioning the cleanliness of too many knick-knacks and novelties on the walls. We had the«riblet» sandwich with pasta and«chicken» salad and everything tasted real fresh and satisfying. I hope they grow and prosper even in this economic climate.

LOVEIT. Had the roast«beef» and«cheddar sandwich on an onion roll with vegan horseradish and a side of vegan pasta salad. Excellent food. Was just so tasty and satisfying. I might have to go back today for it again. Great great food, dependable service, cheap($ 7 for the special sandwich which is rather big) and cute. Doesn’t hurt that you can partake in a baked good galore too. The deli sandwiches here are really satisfying and worth your time of day!

A lot of choices: from cookies to scones to cakes. I tried the cake with peanut butter, don’t remember the name. It taste really good. A bit too sweet for me if I eat the whole wedge, but the first few bites are really good. The place is barely decorated but very welcoming.

Amazing!!! Best sandwich not made at home I have ever witnessed. These people are serious, and you should approach with your game face on! The cashew spread, turkey, house made mayo, spicy chips etc etc… Please visit, even if you are not a vegan, just do it! P. S. They are on Hurt Street now.
