So relaxing and peaceful! Absolutely enjoyed my first flot and will be back for more. Although I wish the water was a bit warmer, I still thoroughly enjoyed from start to finish

I was searching around for the floating service to gift to my boyfriend and was referred to Flöt by their yoga teacher Kelsey. First, she is amazing in spirit and in practice. I absolutely loved her class and the fact that she is at Flöt made me feel like I absolutely needed to try it. I called in and left a message which was very promptly returned by their staff and I was able to speak with Ryan and he was absolutely fantastic. He was warm and welcoming went above and beyond to help me find a perfect gift package for him. I ended up getting him the option of 2 floating services or a floating service and a massage. I loved being able to give him the option on services. I asked if I could come by and pick up a physical gift certificate before they closed and I ended up being there 10 minutes later and Ryan had already filled out the certificate and had it waiting. I had a few moments to spare and Ryan offered to give me a tour of the spa because I had never visited. It is a beautiful, calm, clean, comfortable space that really made me feel at ease and instantly relaxed even though I wasn’t getting a treatment. The space felt very balanced and I wasn’t overwhelmed with any aromatherapy and it didn’t feel too sterile. The floating rooms are amazing. I left feeling so excited for my boyfriends visit and found myself wishing I could stay and float for a while. I can’t wait to see how he likes the floating experience and I can’t wait to try it myself also. GREAT experience!

I loved Flot! The staff were friendly. The waiting area was tranquil. It was affordable and the massage therapist was top notch. When I am back in Atlanta, I will certainly go back.

My wife and I went in, each for a massage and facial. Elaina gave the facials and Gina gave us our massages. They are both sweet, professional, knowledgeable and they listen carefully to what we wanted.
When we were done, I told my wife I was leaving her for two women!
Incidentally, my wife is a former esthetician and says the facial from Elaina was the best she’s had in 27 years.

My boyfriend and I had a wonderful time at flot. We both ‘floted,’ and it was an incredibly relaxing, soothing experience. Neither of us had done one before, and Ryan was very helfpul and mindful as he led us through the process. The flot spa was beautiful, and the dressing rooms had lots of nice Aveda products available to sample. I will definitely be returning to flot for another flot experience and maybe a massage next time too!

So, had never had a flot session before… and it was quite cool. The sensation of effortless floating on top of the water is both wild and liberating and, ultimately, relaxing.
Probably next time, I’d combine a massage or facial with the flot to get the fullest relaxing, therapeutic effect, but, in a pinch, and particularly when you just want some alone, down-​time, this is a great escape.
The flot capsule and room are spotlessly cool, by the way. And the facilities are modern and funky and with nice amenities.

I just visited this spa on Valentine’s Day. It was my gift to my boyfriend and myself and let me just say, there was no disappointment. First let me start with the very beginning of the process. Booking an appointment was exceptionally easy. You just fill out a form on their website and then they give you a phone call to inform you if your date and time is available. BOOM! Your appointment for a peaceful oasis is finalized and now you have time to worry about how good the services will be and read others Unilocal reviews in fear.
Okay so first let me say that Natalie, the clerk I spoke with over the phone was so sweet and nice. Very soft-​spoken which fits with the atmosphere. She was helpful and answered all of my questions without exhaustion. They informed me to call them when I got on the street of the spa so that they could open the private parking deck which was refreshing, as all of the fellow Atlanta residers know how bad finding parking can be.
I signed my boyfriend and I up for a Flöting session + Massage therapy each. There was a V-​Day special where I saved $ 60 in total. As soon as we walked in, we sat down at the quaint reception area and were offered hot tea or water immediately. we both had an automatic yes to the tea and it was very delicious. Natalie then handed us each forms to sign that covered the basics. Age, safety info, etc. Then we were lead to the waiting area which was the definition of tranquility. The lighting was a dim yellow and we were again offered water, tea, and CHAMPAGNE! Yes you heard me, alcohol. lol. Well there was also brownies, chocolates (the good kind), full bags of peanuts and cashews and more. Obviously I threw a few items in my bag due to the fact that I am a diagnosed snacker! As we waited, my boyfriend was escorted to the male changing room and then I was escorted to the female changing room. I was handed a warmed robe and slippers, given a locker with a key for my personal items, and welcomed to use all of the amazing Aveda products.
After changing I made my way back to the lounging area and my boyfriend decided to get his massage first while I decided to flöt first. I was escorted into a beautiful white room with the pod in the center, a rain shower on my left, ear plugs, goggles, petroleum jelly (for cuts) and towels. I was informed on the signal for 2 min. left until my flöt was over, that I could leave the pod door open or closed, how to turn the blue light on the inside off, and if I wanted music during the beginning, end, or entire time. I opted for music the entire time and I am really glad I did. She left and I rinsed in the beautiful shower and made my way to the pod. I cannot lie, I was nervous. I had read one bad review and it had me nervous even though there were many amazing reviews. Let me break down the one bad review I saw and I am sure you may see and tell you my version of it.
1. The pod water is warm. The longer inside with door open, the colder it becomes but when you have the pod door closed, the water stays about the same temperature.
2. When the goggles are put on, they cancel out the blue light, yes but goggles are optional. When flöting correctly, your eyes should never be in contact with water.
3. The idea is to meditate and relax. Let your body carry itself.
4. The ear plugs did just what they should have. I find that many people are not sure how deep to insert plugs which causes the water to enter their ear but unless they upgraded their products, I had no issue.
5. Flöting is not for everyone but it was truly an amazing experience to say you have had, even if it is just once.
After my flöting was complete, I rinsed off again, shampooed my hair, and went back to the lounge room where I waited with my boyfriend. He raved about the massage and how nice the therapist, Jeana, was. This automatically made me excited. Natalie then came and asked me what essential oil set scent I wanted. I tried Rose and was not disappointed. Jeana was amazing. So nice and welcoming to a newbie in the spa world. She made me feel comfortable and we talked my entire massage. And not that annoying talking, she spoke when I spoke so I felt I had complete control over whether it was silent or not. HER HANDS ARE GOD GIVEN. What she did to my back and neck can only be described as incredible. I will definitely become a regular of her, and ONLY HER. Overall, my experience was amazing, affordable, and comfortable. After the massage I was back in the changing room and I was able to blow dry my hair, use more Aveda products, and more. They had everything you could imagine needing. Dry shampoo, moisturizing face wash, hand lotion, foot lotion, body lotion, bobby pins, Q-​tips, ear cleaner, blow dryer, towels etc.
I WILL BE BACK!

I went to Flot Spa for a Hydra Facial and Elana, the esthetician did an impeccable job. You get to change into spa attire and get under the covers of a massage-​esque bed. she massages your hands, coats them in lotion, puts bags over them and places them into heating pads and then the facial starts.
Her massage techniques are amazing– you can tell she really knows what she is doing– she covers your eyes with serum soaked towel so that your eyes are not bothered by the bright light she uses to observe and feel your skin for congestion.
She immediately knew my trouble areas, skin type, and what products to use.
She asked if I wanted her to explain each step or just allow me to close my eyes and relax. I had my eyes closed the entire time taking in the spa music and relaxing atmosphere, and listened to her explain each time she did a different step.
Getting a hydrafacial is amazing anywhere, but getting it at a spa is well worth the few extra dollars– you aren’t in a room that looks like the dentist with bright florescent lights — you’re in a room made for relaxation.
She even massaged my neck and shoulders. Overall, an amazing experience.
The parking kind of stinks but when I left I sure as heck wasn’t stressing it.

After all the positive reviews and cool pictures I thought I would splurge $ 90 (the groupons are done & the receptionist said there are no deals) and take a much-​needed spa day. I decided to try a flöt (pronounced float) for the first time. Unfortunately, this place is only aesthetically appealing, as to be a façade to the actual experience.
It looks cool, it really does, but a jacuzzi or sauna is much more relaxing than a flöt and a heck of a lot cheaper. After I put on goggles and earbuds I got into the pod. The goggles made everything dark so the lights inside are just for looks. My belly and chest remained above the water the entire time getting very dry, but the uncomfortable part was my neck. The more I tried to relax and «let go» my neck stiffed up (which is unusual for my body). When I tried to ease back in the float, the salt water attacked the goggles and immediately burned my eyes.
So I laid there in darkness, eyes shut tight and neck stiff. Buoying in the water and bumping into the sides of the pod. The earbuds got uncomfortable after about 20 minutes underwater so if you insist on learning for yourself I suggest you buy your own. Maybe some better goggles too? My meditation failed because I was so uncomfortable and I wanted the 60 minutes to be over quickly.
Oh, I didn’t even mention how the water was a little colder than room temperature even though I had the pod closed the whole time. I would take a hot bath over this any day. Overall this is just not a smart investment… relaxing-​wise, body-​wise, and definitely not money-​wise.
SAVE your money and go get a massage or a facial at a nice spa! Atlanta spas have great weekly deals and especially deals for first time guests BUT AVOID THIS PLACE.

My favorite place for relaxation in the ATL. Jeana is a great masseuse… very professional and skilled. The pod was truly a unique experience, facilitating relaxation beyond all senses. I’ll be back for sure! Thanks Flot!

I visited this spa after reading some previous reviews and thinking «WOW, I have never done anything like this before!!» When I looked on their website, I saw they had a special for first time customers. I promptly called to schedule an appointment. The young lady (I think her name is Brooke), was super sweet over the phone and explained the Flot experience and also Reiki to me.
When I walked in, I was pleasantly surprised how amazing this place smelled. All of the Aveda products are sold in the spa and are available to try during your time there. This was a major plus! Brooke greeted me at the front desk and gave me a short tour of the spa. The changing room is small enough for one person and has a ton of Aveda products to put on.
The Flot session was AMAZING! I was so relaxed and opted to keep the music on throughout the entire session. My «pod» was very clean. There is a shower area next to the pod with shower gel, shampoo, and conditioner. They gave me ear plugs, ample towels, and even some tea (the tea was offered when I first walked in!). I was so relaxed, it was unbelievable!
The Reiki session was… well…different. I wasn’t sure what to think actually. It was very calming, but I am not sure what I was feeling. I actually fell asleep and was told that is quite common. I will say that I was much more relaxed and had a better sense of peace afterward. The session is really hard to explain, but I say try it if you’ve never done reikki before. Its quite interesting.
I will most certainly be back :)

After some hectic work things finally settled, I decided to celebrate with a spa day. I did the intro rate– a flot and a massage.
The staff here is fantastic. They were very attentive without being overbearing, and talked me through everything (a relief for me, since I was about 75% certain I’d be on the news as «that girl who drowned in the isolation pod»). I also love the facilities; very well decorated, and a thousand and one Aveda products for you to use.
The flot was totally new to me and very, very cool. It’s amazing how buoyant the salt water makes you. It was incredibly relaxing. There were two downsides, though– one, I don’t believe there’s actually a heater IN the pod; while the water pumped in is hot, over the course of the hour it cools off. I was never cold, by any means, but I would have liked it to be a little toastier. Secondly, I noticed that the pod had a ring around it, the same way your bathtub gets when it needs a cleaning. I also noticed that a little bit of red soap scum had formed in certain spots in the pod (I get this at home too– just Atlanta water, I think). It wasn’t terrible or gross, even, but when you go for the spa experience, you want everything sparkling!
The massage was wonderful– Vitali was excellent, and it was perhaps one of the best massages I’ve had.
All in all, I really enjoyed Flot and am glad I tried it out.

Flöting is amazing! I did an hour flöt followed by an hour massage and as a frequent visitor of spas all around the country I was blown away by this experience! The owner Ryan is amazing at helping explain the whole process and making sure you stay totally relaxed! Hands down this was the best massage I have ever had– and I mean EVER. The flöt pod is the perfect escape from the busy Atlanta lifestyle. The spa is set us as one of the nicest that I have ever been to in Atlanta. It’s clean and user friendly which if you have visited other spas in the area you know is few and far in between. I can’t wait to go back for another flöt and massage! They offer facials as well– I may add that next time and make it a whole spa day!

You must whisper if you are reading this aloud. That’s how calming the Flot Spa experience is. I write as a two-​time floater and just a few moments after my full body massage. I’d rather take a nap right now than write this. I feel so relaxed, tense muscles soothed, skin smelling of woodsy Aveda chakra oil, stomach full of Ghiridelli peppermint bark chocolates and tea. Still I need to give many thanks to the staff! You step in and are greeted by pretty& very soft spoken young ladies who calmly and thoroughly guide you through the space and how not to drown in the pod. The Masseuse (a lovely gentleman from Ukraine who studied Mechanical Engineering) is quite good with his hands, and is super patient and warm, really wish I’d remembered his name but I’m too relaxed now to worry about it.
Use the Scoutmob or Flot Spa’s first time offer on the site: you will need to do at least 2 Flots to really get the hang of it. I don’t miss the crowded saunas or naked jacuzzis of JeJu in Duluth. The solitude and warmth of The Pods and the dark calm of the lounge space is tempting me to make a third appointment. Can’t beat the location, though. If i didn’t already live across the street, I would call ahead and have the staff guide me to where to park ahead if time. Wonder if they will add body scrubs or mani-​pedi services to the mix in the future? Until then, I will Flot on!

An awesome staff, relaxing environment, and amazing float. I’ve been several times and it never disappoints. I highly recommend getting a massage and experiencing a float.

Wow — I don’t even know where to begin. This was my first time experiencing a Flot and it was the most unique spa experience I’ve ever had. Freeing yourself from gravity, suspended in water for some time (with or without music, with or without lights) was incredibly relaxing. You’re given ear plugs to allow your head to fall back and become buoyant — the buoyancy of the water keeps your mouth, nose and eyes out of the water so not to worry! The entire spa uses Aveda products (major plus) so you can wash up after your Flot. The women’s changing room was exceptionally clean, petite and loaded with great Aveda products to finish off your treatment at your leisure.
I will absolutely be back to Flot again. Next time I would combine a Flot + massage or Reiki to maximize the benefits of this natural healing. The owner, Ryan, is amazing. He made sure I had everything I needed — including chocolates while I was waiting for my pod. The facility is super clean, really modern and relaxing — just the right amount of ‘ahhhh’ without being too over the top. Very convenient location for anyone who lives in Midtown.
This place is a MUST GO!

I went for an hour long Flöt followed by an hour long massage. The flöt was an incredibly unique and relaxing experience. One I will certainly do again. The massage was also great all topped off by a beautiful facility and friendly staff.

You owe it to yourself to go to this Spa. The flot pod is amazing, freeing you from gravity, centering you, clearing you… wonderful facility run by wonderful people.
