I consider this place the gold standard of vinyl sources in Atlanta. They have a great selection of used and new albums. The prices are good and everything is in great condition. I bought a classic used Fairport Convention album there that had a manufacturer’s defect. They took care of it without an issue. The staff is classy and are truly music lovers recommending everything from Jackson Browne to Father John Misty and everything in between. I buy a lot of vinyl online but when I want the «old school» experience of browsing or need record bags, sleeves or cleaner this is my «go to» place.

Cool music store north of downtown Atlanta, it’s really well organized and has some neat odds and ends stored between the records. Prices are reasonable, and don’t forget to check out the two other rooms at the back filled with even more vinyl

After a few minutes of browsing through the extensive collection of used LPs I found myself asking why I had not come in sooner. They have a huge selection of used LP’s in all sorts of genres and it is very well organized. I have been to several other shops in and outside of Atlanta where you spend hours digging through bins that are barely organized by genre, let alone alphabetically. Not the case at Fantasyland and not only are they organized by genre and alphabetically, all the vinyl records I looked at had been cleaned and were in great condition. The prices were very reasonable too. They have some new records too as well as a ton of used CD’s, cassettes, and posters. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable if you need them to be, but otherwise they leave you alone to browse.
If you love music you have to come check this place out. I will definitely be back very very soon.

Besides that, this place is pretty wonderful. Very clean and organized, and the staff leaves you alone in peace to browse. Huge selection of rock vinyl from the 70s and on, lots of Jazz and new releases as well. Came here to look for Hip-​hop and Dance material so I was initially disappointed by the small selection of those. Ended up leaving with a good haul of some classical and trip-​hop. Overall it was a good experience. Be sure to do a little digging through the $ 5 bins in the back!

Really cool quaint record shop in buckhead! They have records from 50’s to present, and anything from extremely popular bands (Beatles, Zeppelin, Stones) to obscure bands. The owner is really nice and knows what he’s talking about. They also sell posters and little band-​related objects. I’d highly recommend stopping by, even just to browse!

Great store and lovely customer service. Been to many record shops but the cleanliness is outstanding. Talking about records they have heck of collections. Loved the way they keep all those and they even give you the sleeve with those records. really impressed and everyone had got one according to the taste. am gonna be a regular customer here. loved their record collections. if you wanna park there is parking lot in building beside and if you dont wanna take risk of crossing the road there will a park in the right side where you can park and walk to the shop. Definitely a must visit place for all those who love music !!!

My water pipes busted on the 7 of January, 2014 and most of my old record albums I have lugged around from my teenage years (35 years) were ruined. I love this place. It’s massive and the selection is remarkable. From old vinyl to new. You can come in and grab specifically what you’re looking for or you can spend all day in this place just getting lost in the bins. I haven’t had any problems with any of the vinyl I’ve purchased from here and all the prices are completely reasonable for what you get. The gentlemen that run the store are so helpful and kind as well. I called in one day just to check and make sure a specific pretty rare record was there (it was!) and they remembered me when I came in. Also, check out their facebook page they are constantly updating with new inventory on a weekly bases. Can’t say enough good things. OH if you like posters.. . GO HERE. Everything you see on the walls is for sale.

BUYER BEWARE! I bought music here on and off for over 25 years, but never again. I am a CD holdout. While others embrace or re-​embrace vinyl or flock to downloads and streaming, I still prefer CDs and feel they offer more bang for music buck than any other option, especially used. I have over 2,300 discs in my collection. Unfortunately, as my collection has grown and the general public abandons CD, the selection at Fantasyland has grown increasingly static. The CD inventory simply doesn’t turn over like it used to and much of what I find there that I like I all ready own. I get that, but I’ve still enjoyed popping into Fantasyland and hunting for some obscurity or new discovery that I may have overlooked even though I’m buying less and searching harder. I’ve generally ended up picking up about 1 – 2 discs from them per month.
I don’t especially care what a used disc looks like as long as it plays all the way through without skips and I had never, ever had a problem at Fantasyland until my last visit. I bought a fairly obscure solo album by Jon Anderson of Yes and headed to my car with it. My car stereo is nothing fancy, but it does the job. However, the disc had a major skip less than a minute into the first track. I took the disc out and saw a couple of gouges in the playing area that were likely the cause. So less than an hour after purchasing this CD I head back to Fantasyland to ask for my $ 7 back. I felt bad about it, but a disc that skips like that is simply no good to me.
Mark, who has worked there as long as I’ve been going there, cleaned the disc and tried it in the store player and it played OK so I agreed to try it again. However, the flaw was still there in my car so I made an audio recording of the skip on my phone as evidence and went back in again. Mark very graciously gave me my money back.
Unfortunately, Andy, the owner, decided to seize this opportunity to be bitter and snippy. He told me very haughtily not to ever expect a refund again unless it skipped in the store player when this was the first time I’ve EVER brought anything back. I replied that I couldn’t believe he was giving me grief over a $ 7.00 CD I had bought less than an hour ago when I’d been coming there for so long. He tried to give me some sort of lame guilt trip over not buying enough and then told me I needed to get a decent CD player. Words were exchanged that are not suitable for reproduction on a «family» site and I am done with Fantasyland.
I’m sorry to say that Andy’s approach to «customer service» is not that of a canny businessman. It’s not as if I requested special treatment above and beyond what I’d expect from any retail outlet. Why should I accept store credit (as Andy implies I should have done in his comment below) and not my cash back when the defective item had been in my possession for less than an hour? Just be warned because if a music fanatic like me can get treated like that after so many years of shopping there, then the general public probably has absolutely no shot if you happen to have a problem with something you purchase at Fantasyland.
People should also be warned that they sometimes sell burned CD-​Rs as «used» discs and also sell concert recordings burned onto CD-​R for big $$ that are swapped for free on sites like
and offered to members on the condition that they NOT be sold. Sketchy.

I go to this record store fairy often and like its large and varied selections. I almost always find something I want or am looking for. The new vinyl is good but not great and is pretty expensive (I could find most new stuff there for cheaper at Wax N Facts). The used selection is massive and is easily one of my favorites in the city, and their prices are good. Quality varies, but I’ve never bought something used from there that after a good once-​over with a brush didn’t sound pretty darn great. Good selection of cool 45s, posters and DVDs as well, but the gem is the used LPs.

In an age where, at least in a large city, it seems like every store is a chain, Fantasyland is a fun, refreshing place to go if you like independent stores. I was actually in there looking specifically for a poster, and I found exactly what I wanted and had a great time looking through everything. The merchandise is indeed organized, though it can take some hunting if you’re looking for something specific, just because an item could fall under multiple genres/​categories. They had movie posters as well, and (though I didn’t look through them) I did see lots of DVD’s, newer CD’s, and T-​shirts. Really fun place to go, especially if you are of the type who can spend hours looking through these vintage treasures.

Fantasyland is amazing! They have so much stuff it will make your head spin. New and used CDs, Vinyl, DVDs, old comic books, all the posters on the wall are for sale, and I even found some KISS Army action figures in original packaging! Don’t judge me. Spend the day there and you can find so many cool hidden treasures.
It sort of reminds me of the record store I used to go to in college, except without the stereotypically condescending music snobs. That’s right, the guys that work here are actually really nice and extremely helpful. Who would have thought that would be possible at a cool neighborhood record store?
Prices are cheap and there’s a parking garage right next door.
Everyone should lose themselves searching through boxes of Purple Rain and The Cramps and Miles Davis and The Replacements at least once a month or so; it’s good for the soul. If you like music and movies (and I’m guessing you do) then you have to go there. Your soul depends on it.

I went to this location for the first time yesterday and was mostly impressed. The selection was pretty good even though the prices seemed $ 1-​$ 3 dollars high on most things (maybe due to rent in Buckhead? or that he’s a power seller on Ebay) so no «super deals» to be found, but not wildly over priced either.
The store does need a little TLC as some of the table looked like they were about to collapse under the weight of the records and the organization of the records in the categories needs a little work. But yeah, I get it, it’s a record store and that’s what I should expect I guess.
Service was great and we will be going back.

One of the finest record stores in Atlanta. I have been frequenting this establishment longer than I care to admit :-) Always an awesome selection of used vinyl /​CDs, but they also now carry new vinyl as well. If you’re still hunting for that ‘diamond in the rough’ to fill that void in your collection, be sure to check here!

This is what I had in mind when searching for a local record store. I’m still kind of new to Atlanta and always had a hometown record store to go into once a month and buy some new LPs. They had a decent selection, old and new. They had everything from 1950s to now. Everything seemed to be in order, you dont really need to ask where anything is, just go hunt.
I guess they just started selling new vinyl, but most of the stock is all used. I was looking for older stuff, but I still ended up getting a few new ones. My only complaint is that some quasi-​rare LPs are a little pricey. Some I already owned and I know I didn’t pay that when I got it. More often than not, eBay is changing the normal selling price of an LP. But, that isn’t the store’s fault, just the current state of affairs. The fun of hunting down records is finding that deal anyways.
It’s pretty convenient getting there and they have a parking garage next door. I think I will definitely frequent this place. I like to support the local record business as much as I can. I get a good feeling from this one. They aren’t trying to rip off the person that doesn’t know better.

Im just like everyone else who comes here. I can easily spend hours in this shop looking around in all the different crates for the hidden gems that I never planned on finding. Vinyls of course run the shop, but they get some awesome cds in as well, and will convert all your vinyl to CD if you want. I wouldnt but someone clearly will. On top of that you have Filenes’s right next store. Talk about a great day.

Great place to find classic, vintage vinyl at a good price. Their prices are more than fair. Just go in there and poke around. I go about every other week and just poke around for about 30 – 45 minutes. The staff leaves you alone but will answer any question. It’s nice to find a place where the vinyl actually outnumbers the CDs! I picked up a rare Neville Brothers live album for 5 bucks last week and was a happy camper!
I’ll continue to pop in every other week to see what kind of gems I can unearth in that place. They also sell stuff like old ticket stubs, buttons, tshirts and old magazines. Gotta love it!
