This used to be the ONLY place I would take my car for repair. I felt these guys were not only experts at what they do, but also trustworthy. After Jay left, that all changed. Steven in particular has proven to be untrustworthy and I think a schemer. He once ran my credit card for the wrong amount — when I pointed it out, instead of running it again for the difference — he ran the card for the full correct amount resulting in a double charge! I took my audi to another mechanic to correct what I perceived to be a less than thorough repair — not only did they fix what EMC did not, they even found a tool that had been left behind under the hood! Never Again!

we took our 1999 Jaguar XK8 to Stephen @EMC. This is after spending several thousand dollars at 2 different garages in Augusta– who basically caused more problems than the car originally had– and kept my car for 9 months. It came back with a broken antenna, some kind of nasty film on my car and a yellow stain on the hood.(Beware of Rhodes import) I told Stephen about our experience and he said he wouldnt charge me to look at my car and see what could be done. I picked my car up today and it is running like new again. This shop is very professional and experienced, not to mention very reasonably priced! Will continue to take my car to EMC for any and all service. Thanks European motorcars!!!

This shop is why people think mechanics are scum balls. I got a quote from them over the phone and brought my car in. After they had it for a few days and I had to rent a car down the street, the estimate was twice as much, nearly $ 2500. After taking nearly a week to fix, while I had to still rent a car, they claimed it was fixed. A couple of days after I took it home, the same problem persisted. I took it back. After five days, I was told that there was no problem and that every technician there tested it. I went to pick it up and the car wouldn’t even start. After renting a car for $ 500.00 and paying $ 2500.00 to fix the car, it’s got the exact same problems. Either these guys have no clue what they are doing or they will intentionally try and rip you off. BEWARE!!!

I’m a huge fan of European Motor Cars. I have had an Audi A4 and now have an A6; both were bought a few years used, and just past factory warranties.
Pros: Quality service, people, and work. I interact with Jay the most. Often, he invites me back into the shop to show me what the issue is, or how they fixed an issue.
Cons: kinda expensive, even for used European cars (the reason I didn’t give them a 5).
Would definitely recommend them to a friend or family member for at least a consultation on your vehicle’s issue. Overall, a good experience.

Took in my Porshe for some work… power steering just stopped working and I was told I needed to spend 3k on a ps new system. I refused to do the work and waited. Took it somewhere elso and paid $ 140 to fix a hose on the ps and its working just fine.
Wow, guess i didnt need a new system after all or to spend all that money… Doesnt seem like they really cared to fix the problem.

Took my car in last week to be inspected and found out that I needed to get my brakes done. Jay was very nice, informative, and seemed to be honest. He didn’t make me feel pressured to make a decision on getting the recommended repairs at the time of the visit. I really appreciated that and will be taking my car back in a week or so to get it worked on. Other things to note, the waiting area is fairly decent although I don’t recall seeing a TV or a vending machine for their guests, but there’s plenty of shops and restuarants in the surrounding area to keep you busy while you wait.

I had been going to the Mercedes dealership for maintenance, but always felt they were up-selling me. EMC is an old fashioned garage (not fancy), that only fixes what needs to be done. They were recommended to me about Tony M., who is a highly respected auto broker in town.

These guys are fabulous. Based on other Unilocal’ers reviews, I took my husband’s oft neglected BMW x3 here for a mysterious tire pressure issue and coolant problem. No appointment, I just drove in. (I have lived in Atlanta for 8 days — I was really without bearings, so had to trust the Unilocal community).
Bob looked at the car almost immediately, even though they were really busy (I overheard them turning down appts on the phone for that day). They fixed the problem (the BMW dealer had OVER inflated the tires by a lot causing a potentially large problem) and topped off coolant (so that’s what that icon means…) all for NO CHARGE. Amazing. And it was comfortable to wait there, did not feel icky at all (lots of their kids art work decorates the walls and they have a subscription to LUCKY Mag among others.
This is my new car place (with an appt next time) — I can’t recommend them highly enough. THANK YOU Unilocalers — totally on the money.

I recently purchased a used Jaguar xtype. Two months after owning it the engine malfunction light came on and it didn’t run well. After checking with several places in town, including Nalley Jaguar, I took my car to Bob at European Motor Cars after being referred by a close friend. Not only did his technician Dave repair my car for a fraction of the cost that others were going to diagnose my car’s troubles, but they inspected the car thoroughly and really put my mind at ease with my purchase. I highly recommend European Motors Cars for all services. It is rare in this industry to find a shop that you can trust, thank you European Motor Cars for restoring my faith in this industry!

I agree with the other poster here. This is a great place to get your car fixed. Guys are always friendly and honest. I used to get my car serviced at Land Rover of Buckhead (what a ripoff).
Jay is the Manager and is very helpful. Would not hesitate to highly recommend.

These guys are great. On my way into town, my car started sputterings and shuddering. Luckily I made it and as soon as I arrived I searched around for a shop specializing in Audi repair. I went to their location in Buckhead, behind Fogo de Chao and they were really friendly, competent and tried to get me the best deal possible. Dave actually took pieces off the car and showed me what was wrong and explained what it would take to fix. It was still an expensive repair, but with an Audi it always is. Highly recommended
