Empire Beauty School

This particular Empire Beauty School is located in the same shopping center as Publix and Dollar Tree on Briarcliff. The school provides instruction relative to hair, skin, and nails but also provides services to the general public. Because it is a beauty school senior students provide the services under supervision of instructors. Do try to take that into consideration if you’ve never been to Empire.
Getting in touch with someone to schedule an appointment or ask general questions can be quite difficult. From my experience, either the phone continues to ring or someone picks up and the connection is bad or lost. Walk-​ins are accepted Monday through Saturday. Depending on the day or clientele there may be a wait. Usually when I come to Empire I need a last minute do so I always do a walk-​in. I haven’t had to wait more than 30 minutes for a stylist depending on what I’m having done.
I frequently wear my hair in natural textured styles. I will ask upfront for a student well-​versed in my particular hair type. I’m always assured that all of the students are trained in different hair types, but based on my experiences this is not always the case. There have been students who are not as experienced and it resulted in a pretty bad experience. Although people love to say you get what you pay for, if I am not satisfied or uncomfortable I do speak up. The difficult part about getting styled by a great student is that they aren’t there for long.
Empire usually has promos on services and products so you always have a good excuse to stock up. I love that they use a variety of professional products including sulfate-​free varieties.
