I found myself on Buford Highway of all things trying to get a haircut!(a long story). I had a few minutes to spare and wanted to grab a bite to eat in this ethnic Foodie’s paradise. I know I’ll offend some when I say I walked past Little Szechuan and continued to venture down the plaza and found myself drawn into this dive of a restaurant. I sat down at the«bar/grill» and knew I had to have the El Pastor or pork taco as it’s name of the joint. Now mind you, this is not your typical Taco Bell or Pancho’s taco. This is the real deal– 2 corn tortillas heated on the grill with fresh pork sliced(similar to brisket) with grilled onions and cheese and cilantro. The taco’s 2 bucks, cheese $ 0.65 and the ice cold beer the best thing on the earth to wash it down with. My «snack» was quite tasty. I’ve had many taco’s on Buford Highway(only one haircut) and think this is by far the best! Check out my pictures. Updated 12.06.08 went back a 2nd time! I keep forgetting that in my quest for interesting eats that I don’t mind checking out dives. This place ain’t fancy. It’s Buford Highway. Has a 81 inspection score and a not so great restroom and on my 2nd visit we did have an unwelcome crawly creature guest at our table. But the tacos are AWESOME and the service, even with the language barrier, caring & friendly. It’s the kind of place that even gives you dum dum lollipops w/your check! I changed my rating from 4 stars to 3. I do love the food and the service even w/the language barrier is genuinely sweet, but the crawly guest at our table brought it down a star. Among Buford Highway joints it scores a 4!
