I used to eat here often back in the day when their were multiple locations around town(most notably the Chamblee location and also when they had a spot in the Perimeter mall food court). I used to collect their plastic drink cups and my kitchen cabinets was always chock full of them. But alas things have changed. The plastic cups are long gone and the days of glory for the chain are too perhaps since there is only one location left(in Doraville — I used to patronize this holdout location often when my office was near Northlake Mall). You order at the counter, pay and wait for the counter staff to bring you your food. The burrito(with choice of meat) plus rice and beans is still my favorite go-to order; however, the tortas here are also very, very good. The food in general is still quite good, the salsa bar is still one of the best around town, and the prices have stayed low given the great quality of the ingredients. Not much has changed since the earlier glory days except no more plastic drink cups. The Saturday and Sunday buffet is great and a real bargain at around $ 10.00. My only concern is the cleanliness. Once, awhile back, my friend once pointed out that they gotten a low score on their health department rating(a score in the mid eighty range); however, I have not gotten sick from the food there so I still keep coming back.

Yet another underwhelming experience. I was starving and my coworker was headed here so I asked her to bring me back something. She got me a steak torta which smelled great but something was missing… um, WHERE’s THEBEEF? I opened up my sandwich to apply some sauce and all I found was bits of minced beef. So many other really good Mexican options on Buford Highway, no need to eat here at all.
