Civil Bikes

The Atlanta History Tour is a MUST DO activity for everyone whether you are just visiting the area or have been in Atlanta for years.
I booked the Atlanta History Tour with Nedra pretty last minute for a birthday celebration. She was very accommodating for scheduling and provided an AWESOME tour. It is both refreshing and inspiring to meet someone who truly enjoys their job and brings such a great energy. Nedra has definitely found her calling!
The tour started over at the Spindle. We met there and then took off to our first stop. I was extremely nervous as a beginner biker but Nedra assured me that everything would be ok. Once I got over my nerves, I actually started to have fun! We rode on the street and on trails (but never on the sidewalk because that is illegal. Who knew?) We stopped along the way at various locations where Nedra discussed the history with us. She was so knowledgeable it was crazy! She knew the story of building architects, community meetings that discussed actions of the location, events, articles that mentioned the buildings, the artists that created the street art, etc. I learned SO MUCH and best of all it was FUN!
Before ending the tour, we made our way down to the beltline for a popsicle to celebrate my friend’s birthday. It was such an awesome treat! We even got lucky enough to stop and see a live band playing under the bridge. Nedra was so cool about letting us stop to enjoy the scene for a little bit. We ended up going over our time and never once did she rush us to get back.
I am truly impressed by the level of knowledge, professionalism, and candor provided during the Civil Bikes tour. I am looking forward to scheduling a small private group for a bike safety & confidence class. If you are considering a tour with Civil Bikes DO IT!

aight yo, i was pretty upset in my original review. I’m glad they got it cleared up. Civil Bikes puts on some pretty great events with other awesome organizations. I dig that. Atlanta is getting better (not great but better) for bikes and organizations like Civil Bikes make the bike scene feel a little more… legit.

Very satisfied, Strong work, dropped bike off at hotel, text messaged me to let me know it was delivered, good communication, had a wonderful time biking to The Flying Biscuit, MLK Center, Local bike shops (Carter Library, Piedmont Park, Peachtree Street.
Looking at the bike culture, Atlanta does not have as many cyclist as I would have imagined, granted it was Monday but there is signs of a growing bike community.

Rented a mt bike for the week when in Atlanta, GA in April 2015. I never saw the shop or owner bc they delivered the bike to my hotel! Is that cool or what? Rate was about $ 20 a day, but I see that it’s now $ 25 on their website. The last day I lost the key for the lock & they did not have a spare, so I used public transport. I offered to pay for the lock they’ll have to cut off & the guy said I didn’t have to. Also, I paid via PayPal a day after I got the bike delivered! That’s a lot of trust. Bike was great, a 21 speed with flashing light on rear (front light was dead) and helmet.

Small bike rental. Much cheaper than other rental service. We rented the 1^st week of June two bikes.
Bikes are in good condition with 8 speed gears. Prices are significant lower than other bike rentals.
Good value for money.

So my friend and I wanted to ride the Beltline for the first time and tried to go to Atlanta Beltline Bicycles and they didn’t have any bikes left, this was an hour and 45 after they opened today, So they recommended Civil Bikes and we called and they had 2 bikes ready for us by the time we came.
Nedra the owner was super cool and helpful. This place has only been open for a couple of months. So I would definitely go back! This route takes you to the Beltline entrances off Irwin or the the ramp near Miso Izakaya.

What a fun way to explore Atlanta! I have a friend in town from LA for the next few weeks & I can’t wait to show her my city with a civil bike tour! Nedra (the owner) really loves what she does & her passion is contagious! I am not a «biker», but she has definitely inspired me to ride more — it really does make you see the city in a whole new way!
