I was working nearby and decided to stop in here since I had already tried out most of the other spots in Emory Point. I walked so I didn’t have to deal with parking, but Emory Point offers up free parking for 2 or 3 hours during the day. I ordered up my typical chicken pad thai. Price was decent, but portion size was a bit on the small side for said price. Food was OK and it was served up quickly. A nice place to stop if you are looking to get in and out for lunch.

Fast Asian food to please the Emory student. Chow Mei Mei is a relatively new Asian fusion restaurant located in Emory Point. It’s ideal walking distance from both the CDC and the main Emory campus. The menu includes Thai curries, noodle dishes, and Asian chicken dishes(sesame, General Tso, and teriyaki). Chow Mei Mei also has a kid’s menu, a very limited selection of sushi rolls, and mochi ice cream. Highlights: Super fast service. I placed my order, signed my receipt, looked at my phone to check in on Unilocal… and the food was ready. Granted there was no line, but the food was prepared much faster than I expected. The portion size is reasonable. I ordered the Masaman curry, which had a nice mix of stir fried chicken, potatoes, onions, and carrots. The curry was not very greasy. Critiques: I didn’t think the mild spicy sauce was spicy at all. In addition to what I mentioned, the Masaman curry also had pieces of avocado in it. It was the first time I had avocado in a Thai curry and I still have mixed feelings about whether it’s a good addition to the dish. Overall, I thought the sauce could have been richer. Overall: The curry’s not quite the same as what I’ve gotten at other Thai restaurants. At the same time, it beats the Asian food that was served in the dining hall when I was in college.

Got severe salmonella here from either the sesame chicken, egg rolls, or improper kitchen hygiene while preparing either. Public health department interviewed me about the incident after the case was confirmed, Not a good idea to spread foodborne pathogens across the street from CDC. Either the kitchen procedures or the food suppliers need to be inspected and any problems fixed.

I work around there, so I frequently visited the place. For a quick serve Restaurant, this is a excellent place. The food there are consistently good. I enjoyed the white chicken they served. I think pork is not even in their menu.

Just make sure you tell them to cook the gyoza longer so it’s still not slightly frozen inside. Also find out if the mochi dessert is not old. Mochi is suppose to be soft but my order, it was hard that when biting into it, it turned clumpy.

The name of this place sounds like it would be Chinese Fusionish, except it’s really Thai Americanish. Parking: If you work at Emory or CDC then it’s a convenient location for lunch to go or lunch with coworkers. Otherwise, there’s 3 hours free parking in the parking garage. Food: I had a Scoutmob deal for 50% off a max of a $ 10 order. I got the 9.49 combo(a choice out of 4 entrees and one side). –Chicken Panang Curry: This comes with a generous amount of rice, except I’ve had curry much better than this. The curry definitely hit the spot buuuuuuuut just felt like it was lacking something. –One Spring Roll: The spring roll was also just ok, but was lacking a bit of flavor. Service: The girl at the cashier didn’t seem very approachable or friendly, but was able to answer questions I had about the menu(like what a cheese roll was, which is a spring roll but with cheese instead of veggies inside). I would come back during lunch for some other items to hope that I’m wrong, but definitely not a dinner spot.

Dead inspect in my sesame chicken. Unfortunately, I’m not surprised. I really wish people would pay attention before the send food out. It can’t be that difficult even for frozen food.

I order a curry lunch special and it was delicious. I also enjoyed the option of getting a Jap soda. They are so tasty. They also had a selection of green tea(Jasmine) that was delightful. My food was ready in a timely manner. Parking was okay, but you do have to pay at the meter and walk around. I look forward to placing future order as well.

If you in the mood for cheap Chinese food, this may be your place. I asked for chicken and broccoli and got tofu and broccoli. The chicken in the coconut soup tasted old. My dining buddy got Kung Pao shrimp which looked better and had much more spice. Lunch time is very busy so be prepared to wait a little. Check out the Scoutmob for a better deal.

This place had great Unilocal reviews but it didn’t satisfy us. I order the edamame and it was completely dried out from somebody over microwaving it. I also ordered the chicken pad see ew and it didn’t taste to good either. Everything tasted like it was over microwaved!

I ordered a large order(about 23 entrees) for a meeting and they definitely pulled through! I placed it over the phone and was very specific about what type of protein in which dishes, and everything turned out great. As it is fusion, they might not excel in terms of true authenticity or taste; however their food definitely got the job done and their service was great. They are also considerally cheaper than most other Thai places, so everyone at the meeting was excited to have Pad Thai and different curries. When I came in to pick up, there weren’t a lot of people there for dinner but hopefully lunch hour gives them more business. They also have great coupon deals that are given out in pamhlets at Emory Point, so that’ll definitely keep customers coming in. Will definitely try again with my friends!

Since my first review, I’ve eaten at Chow Mei Mei at least three or four times each week for lunch. I’ve tried most all of their dishes on the menu. My favorite is the Spicy Basil with rice and your choice of meat or tofu. I order it with Chicken. It appears to be their hottest(spiciest) dish to date. I’ve also ordered the General Tso’s Chicken multiple times. It has a sweet and spicy sauce with hot peppers that I like.

The BF and I were coming over to the CDC to visit the Sencer museum and we found ourselves a little bit peckish. After we were turned away from parking in the CDC because they were full, we found free parking at the apartment complex/shopping area right across the street. We were even given a coupon list that we were allowed to use at any of the restaurants there. Looks like most of them just opened and many of the people who work at the CDC were making their way over during lunch to eat at these places. Feeling Asian today, we opted to go to Chow Mei Mei which is an Asian fusion restaurant of sorts. What I mean by that is that they have a combination of Asian type foods from basic sushi roles to curry to fried noodles not focusing on any one particular type of Asian food. We had a 30% discount so we both ordered curry(on a curry kick!) which was nicely prepared. Certainly tasted Americanized though and they were obviously built as a fast food type joint. The food wasn’t bad though. It was a nice place to grab a quick bite. Upper limits of normal pricing without the coupon but pretty good deal with it. Nice quick service despite the line going out the door!

Nice, fast service and a clean establishment. I was especially impressed with the spotless restroom. I tried the spicy basil chicken fried rice, thanks Rachel P for your review :). It was so hot(heat wise) that I couldn’t taste the flavors of the dish. My nose was running and it cleared my sinuses right up. Everything was fresh though, I subbed brocolli instead of onions. Brown rice was available for a little extra. It was $ 7 with the Scoutmob and that included the Coconut soup which was distinct and tasty. There’s free covered parking in the deck behind the restaurant and they’re open until ten. I’ll definitely patronize them again.

Walked into this place, not knowing what to expect. The choices though not plenty were enough and diverse. Was greeted by a pleasant young man who took our order. We ordered, Kung Pao Chicken, Roti Canai and Cheese Roll. The food came fast. It was hot and fresh. Kung Pao Chicken was one of the best I have had in Atlanta. Very flavorful and not an overpowering taste of Soya Sauce. The dipping sauce that came with Roti Canai was just amazing. Cheese rolls were good but my wife did not like it much. It was a spring roll with a cream cheese filing which was bit sweet. Came with the Sweet Chilly sauce. Would have a preferred a bit hotter sauce like Sriracha sauce. Overall an excellent choice!

I’ve visited a bunch more times since I wrote my original review, so I feel the need to write a better-informed review. I think this is a hit or miss place. Here’s what I’ve learned: Hits: — Coconut soup(my only complaint is the pieces of chicken were way too big for a soup) — Spicy basil fried rice(yum.) — Spicy basil(yum) — Panang curry(not the best I’ve had, but pretty good) Misses: — Pad thai(tasted like tomato sauce with some curry in it) — Larb chicken salad(see my photo — it was some greasy ground meat and a hunk of iceberg lettuce) Yours in cheap Asian food, Rachel

Fusion is the key descriptor of this place. They do a wide variety of Asian dishes, so nothing is super authentic, but it’s better than Panda Express and almost as fast. The lo mein with tofu was surprisingly not too salty, and there was a ton of well-fried tofu throughout the dish. There weren’t any big flavor pops, but there was lots of broccoli, carrot, and onion mixed with the noodles. It was hard to tell if the dish was oily or saucy, which was weird. Either a lot of oil or a bland sauce. I placed my order to-go at lunch time and was out the door in under 5 minutes. Very fast, but there was a hint of sadness in the employees. Cup of gloom to-go?

I really like this place. I’ve had lunch here twice and the food has been great both times. It comes out lightning fast and the staff are very friendly. This is a rather no frills place. Pretty standard generic Asian of multiple types but it is quick, convenient and, in my experience, delicious. I’ve stuck mostly with the thai selections so far, but looking forward to branching out. Chow Mei Mei is a solid choice for lunch.
