Chamblee Fence Company

Poor quality materials used for my fence build in 2009. Posts have rotted and other wood components, including the posts, that were suppose to be pressure treated are having issue with blistering and warping. Very disappointed.

That recent five star review MUST be a friend of the owner. I used this co. b/​c we had them install a fence in 2001 and they did a great job. Now, I had them install a fence and a security gate, and like the other poor reviews, it took 5 phone calls to have one returned, and the guy that eventually stepped up and swore they wanted to win back my business (after I told them I was moving on) still ended up being non-​responsive, claiming (after another 5 attempts to reach him) that he THOUGHT he had returned my call. And now that my security gate is broken, he is apparently no longer there. I have called again and they told me someone would call me back, but I am less than optimistic. Do not use this company.

I had work done with this company and my fence gate wood craked which let the metal part come out. I called this company 3 time in a month and they did not respond. Finally I got a guy named JOHN on the call he said it will cost $ 850 to fix the gate.
Never ever use this company. They will vanish after installtion.

Literally my first Unilocal review, but our experience with Chamblee fence was disappointing enough to justify it. Great sales experience, super knowledgeable and friendly, and frankly a reasonable quote based on research.
Were told that the install crews were 3 – 4 weeks out. Starting at the 3 week mark we began calling and emailing with no response. Eventually after 5+ un-​returned calls and 3 un-​returned emails to their scheduler, we were contacted and told that it would be another 8 days.
After threatening to cancel the order, they sent a crew out in just two days. The crew arrive un-​prepared, unaware of our detailed conversation and quote /​sales experience, and without having the utilities marked. (a requirement in the City of Atlanta)
The crew was extremely rude to my wife, uncooperative, and quickly gave up and left for another job.
Their salesperson got involved again and committed to get the crew back out that day, which didn’t happen, again with no responsiveness. The next day they were also unresponsive, and the salesperson finally committed to investigate and call back within 15 minutes. Four hours later he let us know that it would be the following week before a crew could be arranged.
We’ve canceled the order and are awaiting a refund of our $ 4,000+ deposit. Their work quality may be excellent, but their professionalism and willingness to simply community honestly about delays, etc, is very disappointing. This is the basic «blocking and tackling» of running a customer-​facing business — not brain surgery.

From initial consult to installation to follow-​up, we’ve had a great experience with the folks at Chamblee Fence. We needed a full privacy fence around our smallish backyard to contain our two large dogs. We were able to schedule our consultation with Wally the day after calling Chamblee. He came out, measured our area, and offered a very reasonable quote. He also followed up by confirming our property lines against local government records; someone from his team also marked our underground utility lines.
On the day of our install, a two-​man team came out and worked throughout the day to get the fence up. Total installation time was approximately 10 – 11 hours.
Our fence looks great! We couldn’t be happier with it or our experience with Chamblee Fence.

We had a terrible experience with this company. We called to get a quote and have someone come out and take a look at our current gate. One week later someone was able to come out (when my husband and I weren’t home). After WE followed up, we were sent a quote (which we now know was WAY too high). At the time, we said, OK we are ready to move forward – I had to call for a week for someone to even take my call or even reply to my email saying we were ready to purchase the gate. Finally a woman we were working with named Sandy told us that we’d have to set up another inspection because my husband and I weren’t at home the first time.
Ummmmmmm…they knew we weren’t going to be home when we set up the initial inspection, why didn’t they tell us this ahead of time?! At this point we are already over 2 weeks into this process with the company. So I reluctantly took the day off work, and waited for the inspector to come to our 10:30am appointment. At 10:25am Sandy leaves me a voicemail to tell me the guy can’t make it anymore and we’ll have to set up another time. I tried to call Sandy back for the next 6 hours and she never answered my calls. Finally she calls me back and says she will call me the following day to set up another time for someone to come. That was 2 weeks ago. I still haven’t heard from you Sandy and I still don’t have a working gate.

We spoke to a number of companies but decided to go with Chamblee. Their sales person was awesome and the install person and final product were great. Took a call to determine the install date but they were nice and worked it out. The terrain was a pain to work with but they did it!

Our fence gate was completely blown off of its hinges during a storm a few months ago, and another section was leaning over into the neighbors yard and we couldn’t seem to get it back in place again.
We had Chamblee Fence come out to help, and they replaced the parts of the fence that had damage while artfully blending in the areas that were still in good shape. this saved us a lot of money over replacing the entire fence, and it looks great.
They did a fantastic job, and we really appreciate the attention to detail that helped make the fence look so great. Five stars!

I’ve been an Atlanta resident for years but never needed a fence. When I adopted my black lab I had to invest in a fence for my own yard. It wasn’t something that they mentioned during the adoption process but none the less I needed a good fence to keep her safe. I had seen this company install a fence at my neighbors house and they had a good experience. It was a quick and easy process from start to finish and my dog hasn’t broken out. :)

I’m very happy with my privacy fence from CFC. They did a good job installing it and it’s doing a good job of keeping the dogs & kids contained in the back yard. My installer Greg was a really good guy — he respected my property and did about as good a job as I could ask for. Thanks Greg!

Needed a fence in a tight area downtown in my yard and they came out quick for the estimate and now I have a beautiful fence at a great price and I know it’s a good price because I shopped around. Thanks!

I have had a beautiful iron fence at my home in Windermere since 2001. We were very happy with the prompt service, the professional installation, and the quality has been exceptional. I would recommend Chamblee Fence every time!

I cannot recommend this company.
They cut my exterior light lines during installation.
When I called to discuss I was directed to their Dispatcher.
I have left several voicemails with the Dispatcher explaining my problem, but he has not returned my call.
Apparently The Dispatcher is too busy to respond to his customers.
He apparently does have time to read the reviews on this site.
He asked for my original posting to be taken down because I used his name in the post and violated privacy laws.
Amazing!
So he is now referred to as The Dispatcher.
By the way, he still has not called me because he doesn’t care about his customer.
BUYER BEWARE WITH THIS COMPANY!!!

I only write online reviews in exceptional circumstances and I was compelled to write this one because there weren’t many for Chamblee Fence and I wanted to share my experience both the good and bad.
The sales pitch was great, the pricing was competitive, but bottom line, after the job is done, the customer service is poor, especially if you have a follow-​up issue.
Our fence wasn’t a huge job, it went up quickly (one day) and overall looks great! They built it to the specifications I requested (1″ x 1″ picket with two gates) and while the materials and construction weren’t «perfect» I was willing to overlook some nail heads/​tips poking out here and there, and some rough, un-​sanded wood, because the fence would still keep my kid safely out of the street.
After about 6 weeks I could see that a few of the pickets on one of the front-​facing panels were starting to warp. When I say they were warping, I mean there were three in a row that started bending every which a way, like arthritic fingers. It was very noticeable and an immediate sign to me that the wood used for these pickets wasn’t right. None of the other pickets were warping like this so I figured it was a small defect and could easily be fixed by replacing three pickets. I live on a high-​traffic road, these pickets were facing the street, didn’t look good and, coincidentally, had the Chamblee Fence sign nailed right next to them.
I called the company to express my concern and was directed to speak with Robbie. I left a message for Robbie and didn’t hear back. I called three more times over a span of four days before I got him on the phone. When we finally spoke, rather than even pretend to care, he was immediately on the defense saying, «we don’t offer a warranty on warping, splitting or shrinking wood.» I told him that I might understand that policy if the fence were six months old or more, but we JUST got ours installed and clearly the wood used for these pickets wasn’t good to begin with.
In an effort to convince him to care, I reminded him that their company sign was nailed to the affected fence panel and anyone passing by could see they built it with crappy looking wood. Apparently bothered by my persistence, he hastily said he’d send someone out to take a look, which he did. The company rep (not Robbie) came out, took some photos, and guess what? Nothing! I called back to their office twice to follow-​up with Robbie, left a message… still silence. Two weeks later, no returned call. Did Robbie even look at the pictures or was this just his method of deflecting an unhappy customer, wasting his own employee’s time in the process?
As it stands, I have given in to what Robbie probably hoped would happen; I stopped calling, but I have also written this review to tell my experience. I did my research before I hired them, checked online, interviewed other fence companies, etc. My mistake was assuming Chamblee Fence would provide better customer service because they seemed to have the reputation that has kept them in business for so long. I’m glad my kid is safely contained by the fence they built, but I’m disappointed that they wouldn’t address my concerns or have the courtesy to call me back, even if they weren’t going to tell me what I wanted to hear.

I was referred to Chamblee Fence by someone who performed quality work on her house; therefore, I didnt bother to shop its competitors — bad mistake. Chamblee Fence installed my fence without applying for a permit with the city, which caused me to receive two expensive citations — no permit, and illegal fencing. When I asked Chamblee Fence to correct the problems before my appointed court date, the company charged me $ 600! As a fencing professional, Chamblee Fence should know the rules/​regulations of the cities that they offer services in. The company did not try to work with me. During the first installation, each fence posts were juxtaposed tightly, and there were no gaps to see through the neighbor’s yard. When they corrected the «illegal issue,» they left gaps between each posts, and now we’re able to see the neighbors. The whole experience with Chamblee Fence was upsetting and disappointing.
