When my wife was right around 37 weeks pregnant, our team of midwives at Intown Midwifery suggested that she see a chiropractor to get adjusted before she goes into labor. Apparently, there are some serious health benefits to this and it can make delivery much easier. Thus, I wanted to set up the appointment with somewhere they not only recommended, but also was in close proximity. I’ve probably passed by Candler Park Chiro a thousand times by now(since we used to live in the neighborhood) and I was really glad they could see her on such short notice. I had tried calling several times before as I was taking their operating hours into consideration and I received a call back from Dr Lynn was so cordial in calling me back. I enjoyed chatting with her so much as she was enthusiastic, interested in my wife and how far along she was, and even what we were naming our son! She was happy to fit us in on a Saturday morning and was gracious during the entire conversation. When we actually arrived to the practice, I was shocked at how big their space is! You park in front of Radial and walk past the entrance to arrive at their front door. We waited for about 10 minutes and Dr Lynn took us back to the room to see my wife. She was so accommodating and gentle with her the entire time and gave her several examples of what she was doing to adjust her spine and pelvis. I was amazing at how the table/bed she was lying on adjusted my wife so quickly! It was truly astonishing watching my wife’s face light up in noticing her range of motion in her legs was improved and how much alleviation she felt in her lower back. I couldn’t believe it. Everyone at the office was just a joy to work with and learn from. I’m sure my wife or myself will be seeing them in the near future for any sort of chiropractic work we will need. Absolutely thrilled to have been referred here.

I’m a family friend, so you might say I’m biased about Dr. Lynn and her practice, but once you hear my story, you’ll know why I recommend her and her massage therapists so highly. I have congenital cervical spine stenosis, which means that the area where the nerves run through the vertebrae in my neck is unusually narrowed, and has been since birth. I had episodes as a teenager with«cricks» in my neck, but it wasn’t until I was hospitalized in my 20’s for debilitating neck pain and radiculopathy(pain and numbness) down my arm that I was diagnosed with this issue. I was told by the neurologist who initially wanted to do surgery on me that I was just going to «have to learn how to live with the pain.» And that I did for about 10 years. Only once did I try chiropractic and was less than pleased with the results. Several years ago, I ended up in the ER with such severe pain and swelling that I could not hold my head up on my own. I went to the spine docs, who gave me painkillers, muscle relaxers and recommended some physical therapy. PT is helpful, but the meds do nothing for me. Dr. Lynn and I were talking one day. I showed her my x-rays and she said to me, «Please go see a chiropractor. It doesn’t have to be me, but see someone soon because I know it will help you.» So, I figured I had nothing to lose and made an appointment. She and her massage therapists made such a huge difference that I am now a regular client. I have much fewer and less severe episodes of neck and back pain, and if I do, it’s alleviated far more quickly than if I just did what the spine docs told me. In fact, I haven’t taken anything stronger than a couple of Advil, plus use heat or cold therapy for relief. The staff at Candler Park Chiropractic helped me understand how my spine and muscular system works, which helps me gain more awareness of how I’m moving, how I’m holding tension and what I can do to minimize the risk of issues. Dr. Lynn adjusted me throughout my pregnancy; that and the massage therapy I received from her therapists was a huge relief from the hip and sciatica pain I experienced at times. Dr. Lynn has adjusted my daughter since birth and my daughter absolutely loves getting adjusted. She literally runs to the adjusting table and hops right into position. How many children do you know that love seeing the doctor? Candler Park Chiropractic also accepts most forms of health insurance and submits the claims on your behalf if chiropractic is a covered service. They will not sell you on numerous follow-up appointments or expensive treatment packages either.

I highly recommend chiropractor Lynn Young and her massage therapists, Brigitte and Toni. In the past, I haven’t been a big fan of chiropractic adjustments because I never saw results. Dr Young helped me after a car accident and I still visit once a month or whenever my 5-year-old knocks my back out of whack. I notice an immediate difference in my pain; it’s either alleviated or vastly improved by adjustments. Dr Young also gives good advice for home care, for exercises to strengthen the back, and for simple lifestyle changes to reduce back pain. Dr Young works in conjunction with massage therapists, if you’re interested. After being adjusted, you can have a 15-minute massage focusing on problem areas. They both give longer massages as well, and you can seem them without having a chiropractic adjustment. The atmosphere at Candler Park Chiropractic is welcoming and very relaxed.

I only tried Chiropractic once before and was thoroughly unimpressed. When some sudden back pain hit me like a train, a friend mentioned Lynn Young at Candler Park Chiropractic. She said you can get a mini-massage after your adjustment, so that sealed the deal! The office hours are unusual, but very convenient if you work 9 to 5. My phone call was returned promptly and I was able to schedule an appointment for that very evening. The staff is very friendly. The atmosphere is fun and calming at the same time — nice music, a tea station, and a sweet Corgi welcoming committee. Considering that I had fears about Chiropractic on my first visit, I am honestly shocked at my 180 turn-around. I am feeling better after 2 visits, and will continue to use Candler Park for future adjustments.
