Cabbagetown Coiffeurs

first of all, i just realized that i totally mentioned that i saw them on Unilocal and got no discount whatsoever. so that sucks.
you know what else sucks? going into a salon with long curly hair, giving your stylist a picture of a swoopy short hairstyle you like and coming out with a hairstyle that is not only nothing like the picture but is also just plain wrong. let the record show: i was butchered at cabbagetown coiffeurs!
i didn’t say anything when i was in the salon because i always feel like i can go home and work with my hair to make it look cute– people rarely know how to style curly hair. however, when i got home i realized that the cut i’d just (over)paid for was just irredeemably bad. i was devastated.
i made a corrective hair appointment the very next day at a different salon. never again; never forget.

I got a decent haircut here and my stylist was nice. Nothing special.

Brittany White is a great up and coming hair stylist that has helped me for over 2 years.
I am a guy, and don’t want to mess with my hair. Brittany does of great job of keeping it looking good and easy to manage.
I don’t typically write reviews, but Brittany is the best I have found after 12 years looking in Atlanta, and her new location, Cabbagetown Coiffeurs, is an experience not to be missed!

I’ve been going to see Stephanie for two or three years now. I love her! She does such a a great job with my hair cut and color. I just had to follow her when she left Rockit to join the other superior stylists at Edge.
The nice thing about Edge is that while you can get a very hip cut, they don’t take a cooler-​than-​thou attitude. They also don’t have a high turnover which can be a problem at other salons. So, you can find a stylist you love and stick with that person for a long time!

I’m hesitant to write this review, because I don’t want too many people to find out about this great salon, especially one stylist in particular, Heather Morris. Heather was able to make my drab mane super –rad in the blink of an eye. She’s a cool chick with great stories to tell. She knows what she’s doing when it comes to the ‘edgier’ styles. The salon is conveniently located on edgewood ave., between inman and grant park. The space is really airy, great natural light, and there were no ‘spa-​like’ candles and elevator music, which I appreciated. it was just simply about making you look good, without attempting to transcend you into a zen like state (hate that crap). Anyway, Heather was great. She even gives free bang trims!

If you need someone who can do more than the average «doo» — go to Edge, and ask for Janelle. She was formerly at Rockit Salon, and she’s been written up in several mags for her work. The atmosphere of the space is great — lots of natural light, good music and the stylists are great. You won’t pay an arm & a leg to get your hair cut, but then again it is a BYOW (bring your own wine) kinda place. Enjoy ladies and metrosexual gents (those who care more than hitting up the closest «Super Cuts» around the corner.)
