Burks Jewelers

Went to Burks Jewelers to get my watch fixed. They were very friendly and efficient, replacing my watch battery in no time. Prices were reasonable, too. Highly recommended.

horrible experience and I would highly discourage you and anyone else from going here. He «lost» a piece on my watch while trying to replace the battery. 2 weeks later when I went to go pick it up, I saw that he had put a gold piece on a rose gold watch — obviously a different color to normal people but I know a jeweler would recognize the mistake. When I mentioned that the replacement was the wrong color they were like. oh I guess you’re right I guess we’ll fix it.
2 weeks later when I went back a third time, I ask why they didn’t just put back the original piece. The owner looks me in the eyes and says, «this is the original». The original had the watch company’s logo etched into it, and the replacement did not have it. I will not return.

I came in last weekend to have links taken out of a new watch. I was in and out in ten minutes and they did a great job. Very professional and fairly priced. Check out this place if you’re in the neighborhood!

Doug is a liar. I dropped off a watch for repair. When I came back to pick up the watch it was the wrong watch. I told him it was not my watch and he told me it was. We had to argue and I sent him a picture to show him what my watch looked like. When he finally found my watch, I asked him if there were any adjustments to the price for the mistake and my inconvenience. He said no it was still the same price. I told him he lost my watch and flat out denied it. He didn’t even bother to apologize. He felt his customer service was great when in fact it was subpar. He is unprofessional, ill mannered, and I would not ever recommend him nor return to his establishment for any future repairs.

Came in with three unusual watches for repair. Service while you wait, everyone was pleasant and the price more than fair. I’ll be back often.

I had two watches that weren’t working. One had a new battery but I couldnt get the back on tightly again, and the other was only 2 weeks old, and just stopped. I brought them in to drop them off, but the owner told me to wait. In 5 minutes he had both watches running and said, NO CHARGE. He had to use a special tool to get the back on the one, and said that the battery had been knocked loose in the other. Highly recommended — I’ll be back!

Very friendly and nice men. I called a little before 5:00 to see what theirs hours were and said they would keep theirs doors open for me after 5:00 since I only needed some watch links taken out. I thought they were very nice and professional. The outside doesn’t look too fancy but they seem very legit :)

I had my wedding and engagement band resized, prongs replaced, and a missing diamond added back to the band. It looks amazing. Burks Jewelers did an excellent job in a timely manner and I feel that I paid a fair price. The icing on the cake was the free updated appraisal for insurance.

This jeweler is not even worth giving one star. It was hands down the worst customer experience I have ever had in any store. I brought my necklace there to get fixed. When I picked it up, they swiped my credit card immediately for $ 25. They gave me my necklace and when I held it up, it was broken. They then said they would fix it, so I left it with them. I came back a total of four additional times and they never fixed my necklace. They told me I had to pay the $ 25 again because they had to get some hooks for it. They wanted to charge me twice and still did not fix the necklace. During my fourth visit to the store (I had to go back multiple times) — the two employees sat in the back on their lunch break and would not help me. I finally talked to the owner, Marcus Griffin, and he was extremely rude and not helpful either. He threatened me and had one of his big friends get in face and tell me to leave. I have never been anywhere so unprofessional and downright mean to their customers. I am considering having the police come and look on the video where he got in my face and threatened me. I am in total shock at these people. It’s no wonder that 3 out of his four reviews give them one store. They should not be in business.

$ 15 to replace a watch battery. I won’t be going back.

12/​17/​2011-​I have never had such a bad experience with a business. I was told my gold was worth $ 600 on ¹²⁄₁₇. Larry (Marcus)Griffin told me he did not have the funds that day but to come back on ¹²⁄₂₁ to pick up my check. On 12/18/2011(a Sunday)-Griffin called to tell me my jewelry (gold)is now worth NOTHING. I tried to get an appointment with the owner-​he left before I could get to the business after telling him I was on my way. The gemologist and Griffin (jewler) both assured me on ¹²⁄₁₇ the value of what I had-​I could not believe it but they told me after checking three times the value was $ 600. I do not understand an owner not willing to talk to a 60 year of women about her jewelry. The two pieces of jewelry will bring Burk more than $ 600-​it was a bracelet that was broken and a ring that only needed a stone-​the rest was small pieces of jewelry. My advice is too take your business somewhere else.

I have a very old wedding ring, passed down through 200+ years, beyond valuable, its priceless. It is filled with precious stones and very detailed. Well one of the components broke and I had no idea where to go. I found Burk’s 25 $ later my ring was back to perfect! These people seem to be the real thing, old school neighborhood jewelers. Having your very precious jewels handled can be a nerve racking situation, I highly recommend this place! Thanks Burks!!!
