Maybe if the server found acknowledging us instead of laughing with friends and cleaning other tables directly next to us I would have something to review. Place wasn’t even crowded and we sat for 10 – 15 minutes without even being acknowledged. I wasn’t pleased.

Visiting Castleberry Hill for the first time in Atlanta from Miami, Florida my friend that lives near by recommended me to go to Peters Street which contains three restaurant/lounges that play hip-hop music at night which was exactly what I was looking for. I didn’t try the food but the drinks were good and they played great music and the atmosphere was awesome. I had a great time and I would definitely go back. My understanding of it is during the day it’s more of a restaurant vibe but at night it turns into more of the club/lounge scene.

This is a turnup spot. It had a very fun atmosphere, but a young crowd. Security was at the door and I saw and had no problems. I felt comfortable there. They had this special 20 wings that were good and a pitcher of margarita. Do I need to add anything else to this review. $ 20 bucks for 20wings and a pitcher of margaritas,…2 of my favorite things in the world. Good spot to try if you ok with the youngins. Also they had a DJ spinning records very loudly, playing the young folks hit songs. it was fun, i would go again.

I went with a group of friends for lunch after seeing a special BLU Cantina posted on Instagram. We ended up getting the 20 wings and a pitcher of margarita for $ 20. The wings were amazing. We had some kind of tropical margarita. It was delicious. It packed a punch, but had a nice sweet taste. Each of us ordered something small to accompany the wings. I got the Surf & Turf taco. It was brisket with shrimp on top. It was small, but it tasted great. I’d definitely order it again. I had the choice of rice & beans or salsa & chips as my side. I chose the salsa & chips. They were ok. Nothing spectacular. The service was wonderful. Our server Thandi was very kind & attentive. She was very knowledgeable of the menu. Everyone that we encountered was very friendly and helpful. I’m looking forward to going back very soon!

Hit this spot for happy hour on a Wednesday evening, and the place was pretty dead. But that was okay considering that the front part only has room for about 20 people max. Apparently the back section opens up on the weekends. Ordered a pitcher margarita for myself and my friend to split, empanadas, and the nachos a la casa with chicken. The food was great, our service however was lacking. Our waitress was attentive and great, until her friends arrived and they spent the rest of the time talking to guys and filming Snapchat videos… luckily we already had our food by that point.

On a Saturday night unless you arrive early don’t count on getting a table, they play good music, but was unable to get a hookah and could barely get to the bar because it was so packed, they had to be over capacity, to the point if some trouble broke out it would be a nightmare trying to get to an exit, being that I’m from Cali I was a little nervous about that. Could be a cool spot on a low key night tho.

Drinks are a little watered down but for the most part it’s a good place to go for pre gaming

Great prices on food and affordable drinks, but okay food. Mediocre service. Would go back if in the area because there is an awesome beer brewery next door that we would love to visit again!

Nice place, no cover charge or hassle at the door. It was small in the front near the first bar, but in the back the place opens up nicely into a larger seating area for groups. Most people get a hookah here and a few drinks as a chill spot before heading out to other parts of the city. Our waitress was attentive, and pleasant overall. This spot is kinda pricey tho with the drinks, but the alcohol was pretty heavy that night so its a catch 22. Lots of beautiful women, and eye candy all around. Music is bumpin, lots of trap music from ATL and southern artists playing which i dig! Hookah only came in one flavor so they lost a star with me for that, I need at least three ya’ll might have… like come on now LOL! If you come here try and get a booth or a seat at the bar, wouldn’t want to stand around in this joint for very long… constantly bodies moving across you with no sense of urgency or common sense. Fun to be had though! 4*

It’s my second time here and I can’t say that anything was much different than my first visit. Located in the midst of all the cool hipster spots on Peters St, Blu Cantina is a Latin restaurant with a laid back vibe and some really adorable and good food. Both times I’ve visited was smack dab during noon and there wasn’t a plethora a ppl either time. So I haven’t seen this place at its peak but the service was decent. Nothin extra. There was one girl handling the two table that were there and she handled it with ease but she did steal my water glass from time to time. I had the nachos with smoked chicken and it was a little cold but otherwise fulfilling. I also had an Atlanta Sunset which was only $ 6 and nothin but liquor, sweet stuff, and plenty of ice. Maybe next time I’ll stop in during peak time to see how they really handle business but during the afternoon, I was completely okay with not dealing with a crowded place. Others at my table had the mango habanero wings and I was told they were really good and was also old the shrimp tacos were pretty good as well.

Food was only ok; my fiancé ordered shrimp quesadillas and they were not good at all. I ordered a veggie burrito, It was cold and not exceptionally tasty. My friends stated that the hookah was good but overall I would NOT recommend this place for drinks or food. Music is «ratchet» too(on Saturday night). My recommendation is to try another location for Mexican cuisine and drinks.

Went on a Thursday night when there was a dj spinning. The space is a little small and crammed(minus 1 star), but overall this is a nice hangout. The special included $ 15 hookahs(citrus was good) & bogo big ass margaritas(very tasty & boozy). We also tried the guac which wasn’t that good at all nor was the sampler — cheese was ok, the mango habanero and the siracha were both kinda weird(lemon pepper was fried hard), and the southwest rolls were decent(minus another star). The vibe in the space made up for the not so good food tho at least in my opinion. Overall I’d return again to chill and listen to some tunes.

Maybe it was just the day I went(Sunday at 6:00pm) but I got carded to enter. That should have been a sign of what was to come. We walked in thinking we were going to sit and have a nice dinner and hookah afterwards but it was crazy in there! There was no indication of where to wait for a seat, who was the server or anything. We were finally told that they were about to open up the rear portion for seating and we get back there and the music is blasting like we are at a club at 1in the morning. We couldn’t even here each other in our meager attempt to have a conversation. We had to sit at the bar, where there was no bartender and eventually we walked to the front bar just to get water as we waited to find out if we were going to be able to order food. The server finally came 10 minutes later asked me if I wanted to order and after I finished telling her she walked off like my friend wasn’t sitting there. Didn’t ask us if we wanted to order drinks(which we did, but didn’t have the opportunity to) or came back to take me friends order in which she declined to eat there anyway after that. 10 minutes later my friend went to find the restrooms and she said that the server stopped he and asked did I want beans and rice with my meal or chips and salsa because she forgot. My friend told her chips and salsa and don’t you know I got beans and rice… The 2 stars is for the food because it was actually really good! I Got three tacos, the shrimp, smoked chicken, and the steak. They were all good, especially the smoked chicken. Needless to say I won’t be going back, but if I know anyone on probation who has a curfew and can’t club after 11pm I’ll definitely suggest this place to them!

I really wanted to like this place especially once I found out it was black owned. I purchased a deal on creating loafing and was told I couldn’t use my coupon towards any special; I can understand this but not being able to have two checks and put the special items on my friends tab. I decided to stay and was disappointed by the tacos and salsa. The servings are small and the food was bland. My server/bartender was a doll and provided excellent service. Unfortunately this was my last visit to blu cantina.

Went with my girl at the beginning of March. We always get creative loafing papers. And I decided that I wanted to check the place out. Glad I did, so I know NOT to EVER come back. I always read reviews, so I went based off the good ones. I parked on Peters street, got a ticket. NOPARKING on BRIDGE. 25 $ ticket. I could have parked in the 20 $ parking lot for all that!!! And the cops was out that night. They could have told me. Bitches. Very crowded. My waitress never came. My girl had to wave her down for a menu. And then she had the nerve to move at a slow pace. Never mind our take was dirty. & The light above our sitting area was out and the ones to the left of us also. We had to use her iPhone light to see our menu. Not a lot to choose either. The food… did not like. I ate tacos. My chips was stale. She ate tacos too, hers was«OK“she said. The music was hot. He played a lot of Biggie that night. I think in memory of him. That was cool. It was smoky. Mostly black crowd. Won’t be back. Horrible service.

I had low expectations for this place, and I’m happy to report that they«showed me», and blew me away– had a GREAT time! A few things for you to know: at night, this is NOT a restaurant. It is a BAR. A VERY, VERY, LOUD, we’re talking stadium loud, BAR. Not just any bar. A hip-hop, urban, trendy, bar, that plays hip-hop/rap, some of which you won’t hear on the radio. Am I clear? Not crossover/bubblegum/watered down/wanna-be rap and hip-hop, but the real deal. It’s AWESOME! DJ’s are on point with the music. TURNUP! Next. It is SMOKY. Very. It is a hookah bar. Funny thing is, they only have a certain number of hookah set ups, so you’re probably going to have to wait until someone finishes theirs before you can get one. Also, they only have one flavor of shisha, and charge to relight your coals. $ 20 for the hookah. Do it. It’ll add to your chill vibe with the good drinks, food, and music. Worth it. Parking! Take Über, if you can. Or the bus. Or have your driver drive you. There’s only on-street parking on Peters, and you won’t find one of those spots. There’s one lot, maybe two, $ 20 parking, but the lots are small and only have a few spaces in them. Otherwise, be prepared to walk. Another option is to park somewhere downtown and get your Über or what have you. Parking is bad– you WILL get ticketed and TOWED. The food is good and reasonably priced. It’s not really Mexican food, though. Latin infused? I didn’t think so, but maybe. Whatever. It’s good. Be warned– those wings are tasty and kickin’(spicy)!

I’ve lived in Atlanta for 12 years now and I’m always searching for an area that feels like home(Louisiana) and the Castleberry Hill area is one of those spots. Fun, musical, trendy, friendly, great food! I decided to visit Blu Cantina tonight because of the word of mouth. Because I’m no stranger to this area, I knew what to expect and it did not disappoint. Great music, strong drinks, friendly bartender. I sat at the bar while waiting for friends and ordered the large house Margarita which is delicious! And I say, «is» because I’m still drinking it. Lol. While I continue to wait for my, late as usual, friends the DJ keeps me in a good mood by spinning current as well as throw back sounds designed to make you forget about your troubles and start your weekend off right. FYI-the bar stools are comfortable! Im not sure if I’ll have any food today but I will certainly be back soon!
