Established in 2009.

Big Daddy Biscuits are made with natural and organic ingredients in Atlanta, Georgia. Each biscuit is hand-​stamped, baked, and packaged by Big Mama and her small team of local bakers. Whenever possible, Big Daddy Biscuits use locally-​sourced ingredients.

At Big Daddy Biscuits, we believe that pets are people too! Doesn’t your fur kid deserve high quality, locally-​made treats? Our biscuits support the local economy and never contain processed ingredients.

Hi! My name is Lauren Janis (aka Big Mama). After seeing the way that good, nourishing food turned Big Daddy’s life around, I left my corporate job to launch Big Daddy Biscuits. My mission is to help other dogs be as happy and healthy as Big Daddy by creating dog treats using only the best natural and organic ingredients. Whenever possible, I source ingredients from local farmers here in the Atlanta Area, because I also believe in supporting your local community!

I have five cats. None of them gives a rat’s patootie about Big Daddy Biscuits. I have no dogs. But there’s always a bag of Big Daddy Biscuits in the pantry for the regular Sunday walk my wife and I take through the East Lake South neighborhood. For two years now we have been stopping by to see a regular troupe of yard dogs along our route. From Miss Georgia’s poodle Cha Cha to Mr. Paul’s crazy pomeranian Dozier to Daisy the paralyzed beagle and the Hounds of Trailwood in Jim and Edie’s yard, every single one of them is waiting with tails wagging when we stop by with cookies from Big Daddy. We pick ‘em up at Whole Foods on Ponce or at Kirkwood Feed & Seed sometimes, but it’s always best to get them directly from Lauren Janis at the East Atlanta Farmer’s Market, especially when Big Daddy is on the scene and you can pat him on the head. She makes a great product that is good for your goggie.

All of my 7 fur kids love Lauren and Big Daddy’s Biscuits! When I bring them home, they get so excited when they hear the package opening. I consume organic local food and I know that Lauren hand makes her biscuits with only fresh organic farm to table ingredients! The best for my family!

I commissioned wedding favors from Big Daddy Biscuits for my Decatur wedding on July 2, 2011. Lauren (the owner) was lovely to work with, and the favors were a big hit (it was a gift to our guests from our dog, who could not attend the wedding, but was honorary «flower dog»). They’re also inexpensive and local! I highly recommend Big Daddy Biscuits for all of your dog biscuit needs.

Oh yeah, we love these! By «we» I mean my unadopted canine friends that could probably eat an entire bag in one sitting. Big Daddy Biscuits would be delicious as human food, so they are a spectacular treat for four-​legged ones. Made from all-​natural ingredients (the kind you’d actually have in your own kitchen) and lovingly handmade in one of the best bakeries in town, these are the biscuits you want. Look for them at your local farmers market (such as Decatur or East Atlanta Village) as well as select stores around town. If you’re at a market, you may even get to meet Big Daddy himself! You’ll likely soon find yourself buying these frequently to avoid being in your own doghouse.

My dogs are very picky and selective when it comes to dog treats. They’ve had several over the years and have turned their noses up in refusal to about 99.9%. They’ve tried treats made from sweet potatoes, peanut butter, liver, carob, and other fine ingredients-​and they just don’t like them.
But when it comes to Big Daddy Biscuit treats, it’s a totally different story! They LOVE the Crunchy Peanut Butter treats the best and they’d eat the whole bag if allowed to do so. The treats contain all natural ingredients including organic whole wheat flour, natural peanut butter, oatmeal, and applesauce.
Big Daddy is a celebrity and his picture is well displayed on each bag. He even has his own t-​shirt now! Lauren, Big Daddy’s mom, is full of compassion and pays close attention to the detail baked into each biscuit. Her love for dogs (and now cats!) is quite apparent. Glad she bakes each biscuit with that same all important love.
