I generally stop here for just one thing, the danish! My favorite is the Cherry. It’s just one of those things that is always there and always great! For those old enough to remember, good danish decades ago were found at just about any bakery anywhere. Not anymore! Nowdays they cant hardly be found anywhere! Thats why I like these so much. Good danish are made with a butter rolled into the dough to make a butter crust. What you find is just cheap bread with a bit of fruit and icing sold here and there called danish. Its not at all like the good ones of long ago. These here are made by frozen dough sent in from the corporate supply place. So its not really locally made like the old days but its pretty good and since theres nothing really any better out there thats why I come here from time to time to get one! Ive looked around for a good danish elsewhere and some come close but this I think is still better than any other danish out there in the ATL.

Been for lunch a few times and decided to stop in for breakfast. Didn’t even get a chance to order anything, I was so uncomfortable. I walked up to the counter to place my sandwich order and the servers back there were yelling at each other and arguing. I think the argument was about their break schedules or something. One guy yelled at his coworker that it was his legal right and he was going to take one if he wanted to. His coworker then said oh yeah, we’ll see what happens if you try to do that. It was so uncomfortable with them yelling at each other that i just turned around and walked out. The cashiers at the front could hear them too, and they looked embarrassed and kept trying to glance over but did nothing. Whoever the manager of this location is needs to sit their staff down and say what is and is not appropriate work behavior! It will be a long time before I go back, if I do at all, because of this. It was just so awkward and uncomfortable!!!

Had a chocolate croissant pastry from here that was catered as I work close by and it was excellent. The croissant was very fresh and had good flavor. I would recommend having this restaurant cater any breakfast!

I have been here a few times for lunch as I work nearby. It’s not super special for a lunch spot, but has pretty good soups, OK mac n cheese, and some good sandwiches. Today was the first time I ordered a sandwich that made me want to order it again. The Chipotle Turkey Avocado sandwich had a ton of flavor! I asked for it to be oven warmed instead of just toasted bread, and it was very good. I really enjoyed it, getting full off only the first half, but continuing to eat until it was gone. The biggest issue with this place is that the service is typically extremely slow! It can take 10 — 15 minutes for your sandwich to be ready. That seems like a bit much… We are always in Peachtree Center for lunch, so I will be back, especially now that I found a good sandwich to try for a second time.

Giving this two stars because their soup options are the best in the peachtree center(not saying much). I went to grab a quick wrap at au Bön pain for lunch today and was beyond disappointed. I grew up in Boston and am used to a high quality of sandwich and pastry from the au Bön pains up in the northeast. This was far from the case at the au Bön pain in peachtree center. My wrap immediately fell apart when I opened the wrapper and was covered inside and out and what I can presume to be some sort of aioli. The person who wrapped my wrap must have forgotten to wrap it correctly as all the ingredients were perfectly divided– all of the chicken and no toppings in one half and only lettuce and tomato in the other. Also I found avocado skin on the outside of some of my unripened avocado chunks thrown in there haphazardly. Gross. The prices at this place are another story– $ 7.16 for my not wrapped wrap and they want $ 1.99 for a cup of soda. RIDICULOUS! I will not be going back to this au Bön pain again, which truly disappointments me in the company as a whole. They should be better managing their brand in the market place. Especially in a location where many big companies with employees that travel all over the country eat for lunch. Just my two cents!

Seeing this place in Peachtree Center brought back a weird memory. Way back, my pathetic excuse for a boyfriend at the time and I just randomly drove my car down to Atlanta, because why not. All we did was go to Atlantic Station. And eat at the Au Bön Pain that was there. Then it wasn’t here when I moved back, it probably closed shortly after that. It’d been like almost a year since I’d come into Peachtree Center but I wasn’t feeling like going home ASAP and wanted coffee and a snack. This set up looked interesting, because it’s sort of self-serve for drinks and pastries, but you go order at a counter in the back for stuff like sandwiches. Then you pay at the front with someone who will act like you are wasting their time. This is not really clear. The set up that is, not whether or not the cashier is in a bad mood. I paid over $ 5 for a 16 oz coffee and a savory scone. I was initially drawn to come here over Caribou because of this bacon cheddar scone they are touting on a sign. The scone SUCKED. I took two bites and threw it out. It was almost $ 3 before tax. I should have known better given it looked like a thick cracker rather than a scone. It’s about the size of an iPhone, if that, but just thicker. Slightly. And not good. At least the coffee wasn’t too terrible, and was reasonably priced compared. That scone was pure robbery. I may work at a place that has a croissant that costs $ 3.25, but at least you can eat the whole thing and it has a flavor to it. If you do attempt to eat one of the pastries, get it and put it in a bag first before proceeding to fill a hot drink cup. I may come back if I want a cup of tea since they have Harney & Sons and I’m pretty over the selection of Teavana in Starbucks, plus the lines at the ones downtown. In case you’re not aware, Caribou also sells Harney & Sons — some of the teas did overlap but I am not sure on the price @ Caribou to know if you’re better off at one place or the other. I *think* a medium sized cup of tea here was around two bucks. Though obviously with the whole self service thing here this might have an edge. But I am definitely, definitely not touching their pastries.

What the what. After the breakfast I got here I am boycotting this place for good. Let me just give you some background: I love Au Bön Pain. I used to travel a lot for work and it was one of my favorite places to get breakfast. Their food always tasted good to me and they had freshly squeezed orange juice and freshly cut watermelon. This was when I was charging breakfast to the client so cost wasn’t a factor. I am no longer eating off a charge card and I have to pay for my own breakfast, so this time around I decided for the first time to order a breakfast sandwich from Au Bön Pain instead of paying a ridiculous price for cut up watermelon and fresh orange juice(not that they even had watermelon in this weather). First off, the menu is super confusing. There are options with egg whites and options without, options with cheese(adds $ 0.60 more cents!) or not, but it was just not organized well. I finally decided on a wheat bagel with two eggs. They make it, wrap it up and then I pay. When I get to my desk I open it to find the thinnest bagel I have ever seen, with an egg patty(the kind you get with an Egg McMuffin from McDonalds). WHATTHEHELL? This wasn’t a 2 for $ 3 Egg McMuffin. I came to Au Bön Pain expecting fresh food. At the very least use eggs from a carton and pretend it was fresh eggs. An egg patty is such an insult and is only acceptable at fast food places like McDonalds. Needless to say I will not be coming back here ever. Worst breakfast ever. I was hungry afterwards and had to eat cereal. Dairy Queen breakfast would have been better. SIGH.
