Excellent and prompt service, twice. I called the first time due to a broken door spring. Mr. Russell Hill came in and replaced the spring and rollers on the garage door. I was impressed with his skilled work. A month later (last week), the installed garage door motor erased the settings, possibly due to electrical surge or motor getting old. Again I called, and Mr. Hill took care of the problem, leaving all controls and door system in normal ops. I recommend this company to anyone due to expeditious service and value for the job done.

I initially had a bad experience with this company but thanks to a very courteous installation technician and a wonderful customer service manager I am updating my review to a 5 star experience. These 2 have turned a critic into a repeat customer and it’s because of their customer service that gives me a new outlook on this company. One of our garage door springs and other components failed unexpectedly leaving us essentially stranded inside with no ability to lift the door manually. I called Neighborhood Garage Door Service of Atlanta when the first company referred to us was a bust. I called around 5, the technician arrived around 8:30 and the work was completed in about 1 hour.
I’m overjoyed about the prompt, efficient, high quality, and friendly service I received from this company and the service technician Robert. Robert loves his job and I loved the service!

They’re closer on the 2.5 for price, and 4 for service from Terry Luck. I agree with previous reviewers on the price gauge of this company. My service guy Terry Luck was very pleasant and came off very honest, but at the end of it, he installed 2 bearing end plates, and new cables, oiled and screwed tight the garage screws. And charged me 411.00, this included my 75.00 off coupon that was honored. If you look up the material cost of what they used it was around 20 bucks– their invoice wrote it up as 155.00, do the math on the labor and these guys make more then most doctors in an hour. Did terry do the job? He sure did at 8−915pm on a Wednesday night, and very nice demeanor. And he’s just doing his job, he’s a repair guy and I’m sure he’s told that he can’t go below a certain price for repairs. I’m not dumb. But as a company if you want me as a repeat customer, don’t gauge ridiculous pricing. I will definitely call around next time — and be sure to get plenty of quotes, but because of the nature of the beast. I’m sure all the companies are the same /​since

Technician tried to sell me an upgrade because my door was so heavy and the track probably wore the «teeth» off the track. I mentioned that after a power outage I had pulled the interior cord to try and open it manually… maybe I pulled the teeth off the track. Guess what? That was the case, he reattached and charged me $ 39. I had a $ 75 coupon off any repair service from the website that he would not accept. His supervisor said that was only on repairs over $ 75…when I challenged that he then said the actual house call was $ 114 and the coupon was already applied… unethical and false advertising.

Security was my huge concern which is why I decided to replace our old garage door. After I did my homework, I found out that a steel roller door is the most secure door. Having spent some time researching different garage door companies, I found Choice to be better and more affordable compared to other installers. Their surveyor/​representative came with a product sheet which made it easy for me to choose the appropriate steel roller door. He was very helpful and was vocal about his company and their service.
I’ve had my roller door and I must say the product and the service were impressive. The new door looks durable and can securely safeguard our garage. The install guys were great as well. Even though the sun was beating down on them they still had the sense of humor and endurance to get the job done.
I have to say, Choice came out on top so please keep this up.

My garage door was having some issues so I called them and someone came out the same day (5 stars). He recommended a tuneup to fix the issue so I agreed to it. By tuneup he meant changing my rollers and sensors and lubrication. Let me just say I made some calls to about 4 others places and they all included other services in their tuneup.(minus 1 star) I should have called around before agreeing to let him do the job. My quote for changing rollers and sensors came to $ 350.(minus 2 stars) Oh and this included a $ 75 coupon. He initially said the coupon was for $ 50 but it’s $ 75 on their website. (Minus 1 star)
I feel like I was ripped off. Other places were charging me $ 89 to come out and for the same work an additional $ 120 — $ 150. I feel very insulted. You rip me off then you tell to tell me it’s a $ 50 off coupon when your website says $ 75. No integrity!

I was in a rush and backed out of my garage door before it was completely up and broke it. It was an emergency situation since we did not want to leave our garage door open overnight. Atlanta’s Choice Garage Door Repair Company was prompt in getting a service guy over the same day and fixing the damage done. The service was great and this is my first time getting a garage door fixed but I think they gave us a fair price.

Our garage door was really messed up. It completely fell off of our garage door and I know for sure it is already a wrecked. And I then I thought, maybe we need to replace it with a new one. But we were totally clueless about choosing a garage door opener. In fact, the garage door opener we used to have was already installed when we purchased our home. At least, we were able to use it until its final moments.
Anyways, we called Choice because we thought they would be of huge help to us in finding a new garage door opener and it was a good decision on our part. They have recommended Liftmaster and were the ones who installed it. It was fast and it only cost us less than what we have expected. Most of all, we are happy with their recommendation because Liftmaster works silently. Better than our old opener.
Great experience with them so far.

Terrible. Charged almost $ 700 for a basic garage door opener and tried to upsell my wife and convince her that all of the springs needed to be replaced for an additional $ 700 (we later had them checked and they’re perfectly fine). Quoted $ 600 for opener and then increased the amount to $ 700 when it was actually time to pay. Had competitive price done by another company and $ 400 was the going rate for what was done. My fault for not doing more research up front but they were definitely gouging us since they knew we needed it fixed right then. Never again.

I called the company and ask if they would be available to install a new opener I got for my birthday. The company said no problem. Marcus, 45 minutes late for his 10:30 to 12:30 window, couldn’t get the opener installed and jams the motor because he didn’t read the directions. He then says that he typically does not install openers and he is the «warranty man.» He then leaves without reconnecting the old opener saying someone will be back in two days. Two days later, Brian, very knowledgeable but an hour late because corporate has him double booked, gets the opener back-​up and fixes the wiring that was done incorrectly by Marcus. He then looks through the directions to see a warning light that confirms Marcus broke the main motor. Brain trying to find some resolution tries Tina, corporate office person that was no help at all. She was trying tell me that they don’t install third party openers and that this is my problem. Why did they come? I can’t stress enough, Tina was useless and should be moved to some other job that does not require any customer interaction. Bryan was great and the only reason I’m giving this company 2 stars at all. He put back up the old unit and got everything back working. This company might be OK with their own garage door openers but if you want someone on-​time and can fix your existing door openers, you should look to someone else.

My garage door opener is ~14 years old (the garage door is even older) and I had no problems with it until the limit switch broke. The limit switch is a mechanism that regulates when the door finishes opening or closing. So, I called Garage Doors Atlanta (GDA) to get it fixed. GDA replaced the limit switch on my garage door on 7⁄23 at a cost of $ 142 (overpriced — the switch is actually a $ 10 part — but it was fixed). Well, the exact same switch broke again on 9⁄14 (about 1.5 mths later) and GDA tells me the minimum price to fix the SAME problem would be $ 130 because I was outside the 30 day labor warranty period. What a joke! $ 142 to fix it, then a minimum of $ 130 to REFIX the same problem. My advice to anyone considering GDA for a purchase or repair, find another company that does a more reasonable job of standing behind their work.

After a long day at work, I drove home and pressed the button to close my garage door. A horrendous noise made me turn around just in time to see part of the door come off the track and time itself seemed to stop as I watched one of the top corners of the garage door fall towards my car. Luckily, and unbelievably, it stopped before it hit my car and I immediately took that chance to move my car out of the garage, risking my own life even because that entire half of the door was just barely hanging on. With no cars in the garage and having moved everything else that could possibly be smashed by a falling [2-​car] garage door, I proceeded to search for a garage door repair place on Unilocal.
I called around 5pm and they said they could send someone out between 7 and 9. At 7:40, Eric called and informed me that he was on the way and that he would be here in 25 minutes. Exactly 26 minutes later, he arrived and identified the problem right away. He explained exactly what the issue was, what needed to be done to correct it, and how much each part would cost… all within 10 minutes, I kid you not. I gave him the green light and he got right to work, telling me that it would take approximately 1 hour to install 2 new torsion springs where I previously had only 1. He completed the job in 45 minutes.
My total damage came out to $ 455 ($ 260 parts + $ 180 labor + $ 15 tax). it’s not the cheapest rate for less than an hour of work but I honestly have no idea how it compares to what other companies would charge. Anyway, I was just happy that they were able to send someone out in a fairly short time frame and fix it on the spot. As an added bonus, the new springs came with a 5-​year warranty.
I hope I never have to experience another garage door incident, but if it should happen, I wouldn’t hesitate to call up these guys.

Great company and easy to work with. I had an issue with my garage door, called them, and they came out within 2 hours. The issue was easy to fix so the technician rolled the service charge into the labor, so that saved me $ 30. Highly recommended!
