Army Surplus Sales

Great selection of new and used items. Holsters, gloves, boots, you name it. Friendly staff willing to help and answer questions. Bought a few things for my nephews birthday, great deals.

This is obviously an old and established military surplus store on Peachtree St. The employees are courteous and helpful. It is important to know that there are three free reserved parking spaces in the pay lot on the right side of the building (right next to the street). Check from Peachtree St. to make sure one of the spots is available before entering the lot, as backing out of the lot if there is no space available is challenging.
I would say that 90% of the inventory in the store is actually military or law enforcement gear of one kind or another. This is in contrast to many surplus stores that mix in a lot of other outdoor gear to provide more selection to the customer. The truth is that the space is so limited here that they simply don’t have much room for more inventory. The displays are in serious need of updating, it looks like not much is different than it probably looked thirty years ago.

I was in town for an NCAA basketball referee clinic and forgot to pack my uniform shirt stays and shirt lock back in texas.
I called ahead and they were very pleasant on the phone and had exactly what I needed to replace my forgotten items! Day is saved!
They seem small on the outside but have a huge selection of uniform accessories and army surplus.

Came here to buy some costume attire for a themed party. This place looks pretty small on the outside but it is massive once you’re inside. They offer a wide variety of items ranging from flight suits to tazers and everything in between.
One thing to be weary about is that they do not do refunds. There is also marked parking at the side of the store.

This is another business I had the chance to check out during the Atlanta Streets Alive festival. The owner is a relic from a different time, but it’s amazing to see how words like «yes sir» and «thank you, sir» can soften someone’s heart (thanks to my years in the British school system in India). He’s a nice man and just pretty vigilante about the star. They have a ton of military clothing, boots, knives, binoculars, flags, medals and most of the stuff you might find in a comprehensive surplus store.

I wanted to be excited about the Army Surplus sales store in downtown Atlanta. What is nice about it: there are dedicated parking spots in the paid lot next door. Closes nightly at 5:45, FWIW.
Inside it was nearly all clothing. If you’re looking for army surplus type clothing, boy are you in the right place. But if you’re trying to find a Army Surplus-​type store that has the survivalist/​hunter/​hiker/​outdoors-​ish supplies that most of the other ones stock, you’d be better off going somewhere like REI (which is where I went after I batted out on everything on my shopping list).
Lots of clothing, a fair number of knives. There is a dusty selection of camping type supplies, but nothing all that useful. The prices did not seem demonstrably better than the $$$ prices you can expect at REI or North Face, though I didn’t check prices on clothing.

I just recently visited this place. I liked it because they carry the wild camouflage colors. I didn’t buy anything that day but will definantly be back to get me some stinger yellow camo pants and some orange camo pants. the staff there that day was really friendly.

Haven’t been to a surplus store in years, and after visiting this one I don’t know why I don’t go more often.
I came here looking for an M-​65 field jacket. Stores in the mall like JCrew and RL would sell a remake of this jacket for well over $ 200, but here they have original stuff for insanely reasonable prices. I got a used field jacket and a standard BDU shirt to use as a light jacket all for about $ 70. The jacket is top quality and heavy even without the liner. And the guy up front was so kind and helpful, and I didn’t even feel judged walking around in my high heeled boots and girly purse in tow.
I was in a hurry at lunch so I didn’t get to look around as much as I would have liked, but from a quick glance this store has everything! Between peacoats and knives, backpacks and flags. I definitely want to come back to explore more, like Drew W. said, it’s like the REI with O.D. color pallate haha, and also without the high inflated prices that come in normal outdoor shops.
Parking is easy, there’s about 4 spots adjacent to the building reserved for the store, so if you’re like me and hate driving and parking anywhere south of North ave in Atlanta, no worries, just drive up and walk in and be ready to score a great deal.

This just became one of my favorite stores in Atlanta!
Being a military brat and being in the Virginia Tech Corps of Cadets, I’m very familiar with military surplus stores. The reason I stopped by here is because I was on the hunt for shirt stays. Shirt stays are awesome… they keep your shirt tucked into your pants and give you a nice clean look at all times. It’s a staple for any military uniform and should be a staple for anyone that owns a suit or wears business casual to the office. Thankfully, the store not only carried them but had three different options to choose from!
After picking up a pair of shirt stays, I decided to check out the rest of the store. They have everything from uniforms to camping equipment. There were so many cool gadgets and accessories and everything was so cheap and affordable. I’m a huge fan of military bags and the Australian Sack and Parachute Bag are perfect to use for a weekend trip or substitute for a carry on luggage. Both were also less than $ 22.00. I’ll definitely be buying both of those in the near future.
Also on my list is an ARMY t-​shirt, a jacket and possibly a set of camo’s or flight suit for a future Halloween costume! I truly believe that there is something in here for everyone and it’s just a fun place to shop.

I needed a bag long enough to carry all of my kickboxing gear and the idea of checking out an army surplus store kept tumbling around in my head. After recently downloading the Unilocal app on my iPhone I decided to put it to the test. When I typed it in, this was the only store in the area that popped up. I ended up swinging by after work on a Wednesday and ended up getting there around 6:40 after getting turned around trying to find it in Atlanta’s notorius 1-​way road mazes. Luckily Wednesday is the one day out of the week they stay open a little later. As soon as I walked in, I spotted a veriety of bags that suited my need and beyond. I quickly found a bag large military duffle type bag at a very reasonable price (under $ 20 before tax) and decided to quickly take a look around the rest of the store for reference for future visits. They have tons of stuff from brass knuckles to gun holsters to bags to attire to knives and more. I will definitly be making another trip when I have more time.

So I walk in and see a sign asking to give any bags to the attendant.
It’s been my experience that it’s always a good idea to comply with any posted signs when visiting army surplus stores…
you never know if they have a Howitzer behind the counter.
My visit today had a simple mission… I just wanted to buy a compass.
That’s all I wanted, but this is what I got…
A sweet older looking couple was chatting away behind the counter. The gentleman turns to me and says something to me in Greek. So I say… «Pardon me, I don’t speak Greek.»
To which he replies, «Nobody does, I just like to see peoples faces when I do.»
Uh… OK… so you’re a wizenhiemer… I get that… next…
Then I try to hand my bag to the kindly looking woman behind the counter and she looks at me like I’m crazy, then she quickly snatches the bag… she looks it over and then says, «I think I can get $ 50 bucks for this, will you take $ 3?» She smiles and then takes the bag!
Ha… OK… so they’re cute! I like it!
I walk around the store and they have a lot of great stuff. Great boots at fair prices, fun little odds and ends, and some sweet hats! Sadly I have a gigantic melon and have to special order my hats from circus supply stores, so I move to the check-​out counter with my compass, when the door swings open!
Standing there is a guy in a tuxedo.
275lbs, hair disheveled, little dirt or food on his face… sparkling new tux.
He laughs with the owners, they pull out the biggest scariest murderous knife in the counter and hand it to him… he nimbly switches it between hands, trying it out for maneuverability, and I realize…
There are few things scarier then a smiling, slightly disheveled, knife wielding guy in a tux between you and the exit of a Army Surplus store!
It’s the little rushes that get me through the day in this city! It really is…

If you’ve never shopped at an army surplus shop, think of it as being like REI but with everything colored in browns and greens. It’s outdoor gear with a military tint.
I got some good work boots for house renovation projects and a couple of odds and ends that have come in handy as well. They have a big selection of pocket knives as well as all the usual backpacks, equipment bags, uniform pieces, and clothes that you’re looking for. If you know someone who camps or hunts a lot, this would be a good place to shop for interesting items for them.
