Ok, I read the previous reviews here but decided to come in for a simple cleaning and exam. Susan at the front was very sweet and professional.
I went in for my cleaning, and the hygienist was very thorough in cleaning my teeth.
After the cleaning, «Dr G» came in and looked over my teeth top to bottom and gave me a clean bill of health. She did not try to sell me any extra services or say there were any issues.
I had a discolored filling on my front tooth from my old dentist. I inquired about getting it refilled. «Dr G» said absolutely, how about tomorrow? The next day, I was in and out in 45 minutes and she did an amazing job matching the color to my original tooth. Outstanding work! I have found my new dentist

I would like to give them a better review because my visits with Dr. Post were very pleasant. She’s a very sweet and gentle dentist. However, she and the front staff are probably the best part about this place. Everything else is quite bad.
I’m going to start off with the worst part: the cleaning. It was THE WORST cleaning I had ever gotten in my 32 years. When I called to schedule the appointment, I specifically requested a certain hygienist since my husband had gotten his teeth done by this other hygienist and came home every time complaining about how his teeth always felt so unclean after but was too nice of a person to say anything to them. However, when I got to my appointment, they handed me over to this bad hygienist. It was so bad, I actually felt insulted that she didn’t think I was intelligent enough to know what a teeth cleaning entails. Half of my teeth were untouched. Half of the standard teeth cleaning procedures were left out. It took all but really 10 minutes. That is 50 minutes shorter than the cleaning my periodontal hygienist gives me. I left fuming inside. Sure, my dental insurance covered it, but it was still money that would’ve gone towards an actual cleaning.
Since my periodontist does not do fillings, I had my filling done here. Not even a year later, it fell off. I called and asked what my options were and was told that they would fix it and bill my insurance, and I wouldn’t have to pay for it. I then questioned what if it fell off again after the fix? Then my insurance would not cover for it again if I were to go elsewhere since they would’ve just paid for this fix. I ended up getting my filling fixed somewhere else where I felt confident they would do a better job.
We were billed over $ 1,000 for my husband’s veneer implants because our insurance wouldn’t cover them since after looking at the submitted documents, they deemed the procedures unnecessary. My husband was told by the dentist here that they were indeed necessary. If they were necessary, the office would’ve had the documents showing they were. We recently paid the balance because we wanted to be done and over with them. Despite the fact that the veneers are too big and my husband’s periodontist says that they need to be filed down, we made the decision to go elsewhere to get them fixed because we weren’t sure whether or not a simple fix by this office would lead to more unnecessary procedures.
I honestly don’t recommend this place to anyone.

The old office made me uncomfortable with the equipment from the 80’s and the heavy-​handed dental assistants.
The last straw was when I saw a dead water bug just chillin on the floor by the chair I was sitting in before an exam, and everyone just walking by it like it wasn’t there. I had to ask the assistant to sweep that shit up, because I damn sure was not about to sit there with my mouth open while there were dead bugs laying around. As I said, that was the last straw.
Or so I thought. To let them tell it, I had a balance due of around $ 80 for a crown that Dr. Greissinger put on. This just didn’t seem right, because I had damn good insurance and my expense shouldn’t even have been that high.
They reported it to my credit bureaus and when I contested it they refused to take it off. However, when I KEEP asking for an invoice, they always say they’ll send one and they NEVER do! I’ve asked 3 or 4 times, and always make sure they have my correct address on file. So, if it was serious enough to put on my credit report, why haven’t I been given a detailed bill?
So today I called the insurance company to find out my out-​of-​pocket expense should actually only have been $ 30! On top of that, the crown was poorly placed and I have to have it replaced!!!
Truth be told, I don’t think I even needed a crown to begin with, and that a need was «created» so that I could have my insurance paying out the ass.
I don’t do well with dishonesty. Don’t try to overcharge me and the sweep it under the rug by refusing to provide me with an invoice!
That shit pisses me off…

I had a filling crack and break, leaving a jagged partial tooth in my mouth, so I took the next available appointment which was with Dr. Post. This was my first time with Dr. Post, and I liked her very much.
The dental assistant took an x-​ray of my tooth, and Dr. Post explained what the x-​ray was showing and the work I may need — a crown or a root canal depending on how the replacement filling works out.
I usually need two shots of pain killer to deaden my nerves, but Dr. Post got it in one shot, so kudos to her.
I will say that the feel of the office is a bit different; not as personal and friendly as it was before. I didn’t see anyone I recognized and the conversation between Dr. Post and the assistant was a bit stilted, as if they don’t talk much.
But in the end, my tooth has been repaired and the service was performed quickly and without pain.

I have been going to Dr. Greissinger for over 10 years and have had quite a bit of dental work done here. Dr. G is friendly and personable and as far as I can tell has done a good job taking care of my teeth.
I have never had a problem with the quality of the work, and I don’t think the dentist recommends unnecessary procedures. My last two visits for teeth cleaning and an exam had no additional work recommended or needed. All the work I have done has been covered by insurance, and the doctor accepts the insurers’ rates, so I usually do not have a big co-​payment. I have been to other dentists where questionable work is recommended that isn’t even covered by insurance, but I never see this here.
The new office that they have been in for a couple of years is a big improvement over the old office, but just has a little unusual location in the ground floor of a residential building.
The wait times are usually not too long, and the hygienists that I have had have all been friendly and efficient. I recently had to wait about a half hour for teeth cleaning, which was very unusual, but the office recognized the inconvenience of this and gave me a $ 10 Starbucks gift card in recognition of the inconvenience. I was surprised by the courtesy of this gesture, which is something you rarely see in a medical office.

I’ve been going to see Dr. Gressinger for a little over a year now. At first I thought she was fine – she seemed honest, she has a fine chair-​side manner. But none of that matters when you’re being ROBBED BLIND.
The first time I knew something fishy was going on was when I went to get my wisdom teeth pulled and a dental implant placed. Dr. Gressinger referred me to Dr. Lee. As soon as I opened my mouth for Dr. Lee to look at my wisdom teeth, she said «Why would anyone fill this tooth? Its completely cracked!» To which I replied «Dr. Gressinger filled it???» Which was met with silence–
Fast forward a couple months. A tooth that I’d been having problems with broke. Almost right down the middle. I go to Dr. Gressinger’s office, thinking that it was definitely root canal time (I’ve had a lot of issues with my teeth so this wasn’t my first time at the rodeo). But instead of doing a root canal, Dr. Gressinger said all I needed was a crown. I asked several times if she was sure. She reassured me several times that I just needed a crown. So, between my insurance and my Visa card, Dr. Gressinger got $ 1350 to place a crown. Depleting my dental insurance annual plan maximum. Putting a serious dent in my Visa bill.
TWELVE WEEKS LATER. The crown has been uncomfortable since its been placed. I’ve never been able to really apply pressure to it, and now its sensitive to hot and cold. I make another appointment to see Dr. Gressinger. A dental assistant takes an x-​ray that Dr. Gressinger doesn’t even consult before plopping down next to me and exclaiming, «You need a root canal!»
Now I get it. Dr. Gressinger doesn’t pull teeth – she fills them. And Dr. Gressinger doesn’t do root canals, but she does place crowns. Before Dr. Gressinger sends you to the specialist that can properly treat your ailment she’s going to get every damn dime out of you and your insurance plan that she can. If that means putting a bandaid on a broken arm, that’s what she’ll do. Then when you come back complaining that your arm still hurts, she’ll pretend like she never saw the bone poking out through the skin.
Finally, when I went in I was adamant that I did not want a tooth cleaning. I said it at least five times. Before I could get out of the chair Dr. Gressinger literally held me down and shamed me into getting a tooth cleaning. I guess she probably figured at that point that I was never coming back and wanted to drain my insurance for that last $ 130.
I really do wish I could be angry about this, but I’m gutted. You expect your doctors to be decent. You expect them to be honest. You expect them not to rob you blind. Don’t expect this of Dr. Gressinger. She’s a businesswoman – bottom line.
I don’t have $ 1,350 to throw around (or, at all, for that matter). But no amount of crying or Unilocal-​reviewing is going to refund my money. Hopefully someone shopping for dentists reads this review and decides to keep on shopping.

I have nothing but good to say about Dr. Greissinger. 5 Stars. Chair side manner, front desk, hygiene are great in my book. I’ve been a patient since for 5 years. Love their new office on 12^th Street too.

this is an HONEST dentist. i went to her for a second opinion after Nanston dental wanted to cap almost all of my teeth. i brought her the same x-​rays and her treatment was just one cavity, no caps! Her billing staff is a hot mess but she is awsome.
Also, she can admit if another dentist from another practice is better qualified to treat more serious cavities.

This woman put a mercury filling in my mouth after I said I didn’t want one. It was the most horrible experience I’ve ever had from any health care provider. Later when I inquired about having it removed she said she could replace it for the full price of another. And her receptionist of the month was obnoxious. Before my last visit I inquired about the cost and specifically said I couldn’t pay for x rays that day and upon arrival was given xrays and required to pay for them in full anyway. I think this dentist has a biased against men and you will do better if you’re a female.

If you want a dental office that sports circa-​1986 dental technology, then look no further. If you want to go to a dentist that is overly «proactive» about replacing fillings, then this is your place. If you want a dentist that is more interested in consulting her technician on cell phone plans than communicating with her patient, then this is just the spot.
I just had one filling done, and it was like a scene out of Saw III. In many dental offices, they can use computer technology and injection molding technolgoy to put on a filling. Here, they use good olé drills, tooth epoxy, UV light and my personal favorite — the green rubber dental surgical cover.
I will say, however, the lady running the front desk is a first class professional. They run a very tight ship in terms of scheduling and lobby.
I have lived in several cities (NYC, DC, LA), and this will be my first time that I have ever switched dentists for any other reason than a move.
ATL has several top rate dentists — this isn’t one of them.

I have seen Dr Hooker my entire life (well, what, at least 20 years) and when Dr Greissinger took over the office I was a little apprehensive. I still miss Dr Hooker but he picked a great replacement. I recently switched insurance and had to see another dentist, after that experience I’ll pay out of pocket to keep going to Ansley Midtown Dental.

Dr. Greissinger was the first dentist I tried in Atlanta after graduating from college (August 2007). The office was nice and the staff seemed okay. I didn’t care much for the receptionist at that time, but that is a minor detail.
My cleaning was a little rough since I never made time to go to the dentist for the 4 years I was in college. The hygienist commented that my teeth looked better than most people who come in for regular 6 month cleanings, so that was a plus. But what happened next just blew my mind.
Once the cleaning was done she pulled out this little tool to detect «early decay» in your teeth. She and Dr. Greissinger decided that I needed NINE fillings. For someone who had NEVER had a cavity in 24 years this was a bit more than I could take. Yes, I have deep groves in my molars with some dark «stuff» in them, but some of it is acutally under sealant and I have had it since I was 10 with no changes.
As I’m leaving the office they tell me to make an appointment to have the first half of my fillings done. I told the receiptionist a date that worked for me, and she let me know that Dr. Greissinger was going to be out of the office for vacation (I wonder whose fillings were going to pay for said vacation?). I avoided the whole thing by saying that I’d have to check my schedule, and that I’d like to do it after my wisdom teeth extraction.
My main reason for going was to finally have my widsome teeth removed, which she happily gave me a referral to Dr. Lee at Colony Square (who was great!). I go in for my initial consultation with Dr. Lee and it turns out Dr. Gressinger failed to forward my x-​rays to Dr. Lee’s office. Dr. Lee said that Dr. Gressinger did not even have time to discuss her recent referrals before she left on vacation. I had to get a nother panorex x-​ray in Dr. Lee’s office, which I try to avoid unecessary x-​rays due to my family’s medical history.
If your okay with unecessary drilling in your mouth feel free to visit this practice, but I’d suggest taking your money elsewhere.
Only suggestion I could offer Dr. Greissinger is to be more tactful in how she trys to get more money out of people. I might have been more agreeable to fillings if something showed up on my x-​rays, but not just becuase some battery powered divining rod says I need them.

Great dentist! She’s honest and upfront and the same goes for the rest of her staff. I just recently had some major work done, and she was caring and quick with her work since i was so nervous about it. You can tell that she works with great focus and efficiency. I had 4 big fillings done and it only took about 2 hours (typically it takes about 3 hours), and it was pretty much painless. This office really knows how to make you comfortable when you’re there. I’m a new patient, but my experience has been great so far.

Michelle and the other folks in her office are FANTASTIC!
She has been my dentist for about five years. She and the people in her office are very caring. Long ago, I shattered a tooth (had a filling in it already) and she worked me into her schedule that same day so I didn’t have to freak out about it over a weekend.

I have been a patient of Ansley Midtown Dental since 2001. My experience with Dr. Greissinger has been nothing short of positive. She always explains your options making sure you make an informed decision on whatever procedure is recommended. She is conservative in her treatment rather than rushing to the extreme, which tells me $$$ doesn’t drive her. I would be remiss if I didn’t mention Andrea as well. She is Dr. G’s dental assistant and she is awesome — knowledgeable, professional and personable.
I cringe at the thought of going to the dentist. But, it is a necessary evil and Dr. Greissinger and her staff makes working on the «grill» as painless as possible.
Oh, and they play great music as well!

Another rave review for Dr. Greissinger! I bounced around from dentist to dentist all over town before I found her, and now I’m a patient for life! She is extremely talented at making teeth look beautiful. I went through the implant process with her and Dr. Lee, and although it took quite a long time I couldn’t be more ecstatic about the results! It was worth it. She is a miracle worker.
Everyone else in the office is very friendly as well, and I never dread a teeth cleaning appointment. My whole family comes here, and I recommend this office to all of my friends. They’ve always been very accommodating to my weird insurance stuff too.
The only down side is that it is next door to The King and I. I always want to go eat delicious thai right after my cleaning.

I love my dentist. She rocks. I love her so much that the last time I went I ate a whole bag of Oreos on the way to my appointment. (Not really… idea borrowed from Stephen Wright).
I’ve been going here since 1997 or so, I think. You can always judge a dentist’s office by the quality of their gewgaws, bric-​à-​brac, whatnot, and tchochke.
Michelle’s is the best. And then there’s a ceiling-​mounted poster with sayings that your favorite, if pestersome, great-​aunt always doled out. You know, pithy phrases that tell you to keep your ears open and your mouth shut.
There are plenty of rattling fake teeth around, some depicted in molded plastic as healthy, other plastic robots are not so lucky as there is bad pitting, loose lowers, and clear risk of tooth loss due to gum disease.
I always walk out of there squeeky clean, tartar free, and feeling like a million bucks. A visit to Michelle’s for a teeth cleaning leaves you with a better feeling than getting the best haircut in the world!
I’m smiling just writing this review.
But you have to floss. Daily.
