Very cute restaurant. I took my mom here for her birthday. I like how the restaurant is similar to a house. Very quaint. Really good food I remember I had mussels, French fries and frogs. Very nice service too.

Such a lovely bistro in an old house on Grandview. Amazing mussels. Covered patio seating as well as open air inside seating. They offer lunch specials… the fish entrée was very good!

Lots of patio seating, friendly and attentive staff topped off wth delicious food. A perfect meal! I enjoyed tender short ribs and ricotta filled tortoloni while my daughter had thyme roasted chicken with Yukon gold potato purée.
Our waiter overheard me wish my daughter a happy birthday and surprised her with an incredible sampler of deserts. Thankfully she shared it with me. They all were fantastic, but I must admit I have a weakness for crème brule, and I wasn’t disappointed!
I would love to return and try some of the appetizers, but for that matter, the whole menu looked great. One thing for sure, next time I will have a crème brule all to myself!

One of my favorite restaurants :) A few words to describe this place: adorable, quaint, unpretentious, romantic, endearing.
You’ll find this place in a residential area of Buckhead, tucked away like a hidden jewel. It’s a great place for a date. Ladies will swoon over the cuteness factor! And it has more than just looks to offer — the food is really exceptional also.
Service is very friendly, prompt & professional. The seating is a bit crowded. Just avoid the man-​spreading & everyone should be okay!
I always start with the moules marinieres — (aka mussels) with frites ($ 18). They are some of the best mussels I’ve ever had & the sauce is so delicious you’ll want to sop up every last ounce with bread! And the frites are incredible — with mayo — yes! I’ve also had the scallops & they’re pretty good. For my entrée, I usually order a fish of the day (~$ 25) & I’m always pleased. The prices are pretty reasonable.
When I leave, I almost feel like I’m leaving a dinner party in someone’s home. The service is so welcoming & it goes hand in hand with the converted home/​restaurant. Really a nice departure from the usual corporate, high volume restaurant. This place has character & class.

Simply one of my all times favs in buckhead ! Cozy warm atmosphere, friendly helpful staff, & delicious food that always changes (favs stay on the menu). We had a wonderful patio lunch of salmon & lightly battered chicken Poulet Nono. Both were amazing paired with some French white wines.

We were two couples and two were vegetarian and one of those was also gluten and dairy allergic, but they easily accommodated everyone through three courses.
Prices were reasonable for the quality of food and service we received. Valet parking was easy.

We sat outside and we’re eaten alive by bugs, no candles or citronellas around. The jambon salad was delicious but the muscles were more poop than muscle. Smallest crème brûlée in recorded history. I have mixed feelings about this restaurant. Will try again and update.

Parking: We found street parking outside the restaurant. It is in the midst of a homey neighborhood. .
Service: Great! Everyone we interacted with was super nice and attentive.
Price: Relatively expensive.
Ambience: Very cute, GREAT for a nice date. Take note, bachelors of Atlanta.
Food: My husband I both got fish dishes — salmon and trout. We both really enjoyed our dishes — especially the salmon. Very filling. If you have some room, the bread pudding is delicious.

Had a reservation last night at 6:30. Really love the atmosphere and art work. Unfortunately the scallops St Jacques were so salty, I could barely eat them. I ordered this as an entrée with asparagus and whipped potatoes. I sure was craving them, but alas.
My date had the trout which was my second choice and he loved it. We also enjoyed the bread and butter. For dessert we ordered pineapple sorbet, but they brought out mimosa sorbet (which obviously contains alcohol) and my friend Picked up on it because he can not drink alcohol.
The server said yes it was a mistake and brought the pineapple for him while I ate the other. I will go back but was so disappointed in the scallops :(

Nice neighborhood gem. Sit outside on patio and enjoy atmosphere anytime of the year. The food is well prepared, of course French in style, with tastes and seasoning appropriate. We had a large sample from fish, to duck, to steak frites. Wine list travels through the world and pricing is in line. Good options for a solo diner, date, family, or business meeting.

Fabulous time at Anis. It really is amazing that you are only a few blocks off peach tree street and all the traffic and big box restaurants that line the street for miles. Walking into Anis is like walking in to another time. A time when people really enjoyed the dinning experience.
Service is wonderful and the food is spectacular. I can’t wait to go back!

I ordered the trout my girlfriend ordered the salmon. We both loved our food. Pieces of fish were pretty big. Our waiter Jeremy was awesome. Paid with the dining out passbook with no problems. Food came out really quick.
For dessert had the bread pudding which came cold and was the only low light. Really loud environment with not a lot of space so be aware. This isn’t the place if you want quietness.

We came for lunch and ordered:
–Salade Niçoise — tuna was prepared to the perfect consistency, but was less greens than I had hoped for. Luckily we had filled up already on the bread and butter.
–Cured Salmon Croque Monsieur– a twist on the traditional croque monsieur; it reminded me of a lox sandwich. Too heavy on the butter though, as it felt and tasted greasy.
I’ll be back to try the mussels, which is what our server said they were known for. Ambience was quite homey and people were far dressier than I was, so mental note for next time. I noticed a bridal shower in the room so this is likely a popular spot for special occasions.
Note: they only have brunch on Sundays.

Great place for a good french meal but in a comfortable setting. The ambiance was eclectic and cool. The food did not disappoint either.

Upgrading Anis to 5 stars is long overdue. We come here frequently and they always impress, both with service and with the food.

Anis continues to be one of our absolute favorite restaurants in metro Atlanta! The service is fantastic and the food is always excellent. Love the atmosphere! The longevity (22 years) of Anis Bistro proves it has a winning formula. Be sure to try it for lunch too! BTW, the mussels are to die for!

Like walking into a cozy Paris café with amazing food and authentic atmosphere. My favorite little romantic spot in all of Atlanta.

Th food is really yummy. We can in a group of 8 and enjoyed ourselves. We ordered the trout, sorbet du jour, the braised beef rib, the steak, salmon, and duck leg. Then we had the flourless chocolate cake and pudding. Everything was great!

We came here for our anniversary and it was perfect. The atmosphere is peaceful and romantic. It was quiet so we can talk and hear each other and the server was prompt, but not annoyingly present. I love the light flares of French art. It wasn’t chessy, but just the right amount.
There is free valet, but just parked on the side street. Our waiter was very knowledge of the courses and can describe them in great details. Let’s move on to the food:
We order:
Carpaccio de Poulpes: thin sliced octopus in a citrus olive oil marinade with chunks of avocado. It was so fresh and light! A perfect appetizer! The octopus fit well with the avocado and fresh bread they brought out. It wasn’t chewy and overly filling
Tortellini and Boeuf Braise: This was a braised short rib with wild mushroom ragout on homemade ricotta tortellini. The ribs were soft and melt in your mouth. I do wish there was a more mushroom presence. We could barely notice them due to the other flavors. There were also roasted pine nuts scattered on the dish that was a nice touch.
Pork chop over a butternut squash risotto: The pork chop was done perfectly (slightly pink in the middle). The risotto went well with the pork chop and the sweetness of the butternut squash was on point. But warning, we had no idea the pork chop was $ 34 dollars since it was a special. Ask for the prices of the specials if you are money conscience.
Crème Brulee: The only complaint I can give to this is I wish it was bigger. I think I could eat a plate size serving of this.
Overall, a great date night place to come. We will definitely come back on Thursday when they have live music to accompany the food.

My best friend surprised me with a dinner here and everything was just amazing. The food, ambiance, service, everything was just great!
If you want to have a romantic night out, a girls night out, or celebrate something special, this is definitely a place to come to!

Went here on a date and I loved everything about it. The ambience is relaxed and nice, something that is a bit hard to find in Buckhead. You can come in flip flops or dressed to the 9 and you’ll still fit in. I had the special of the week and the lamb was delicious, my friend also loved and enjoyed his meal as well. They have a live band on Thursday, so I will be coming back for that and some more delicious food!

Went here for a group event. This is supposed to be a French inspired restaurant. We went on a rainy night and most of the tables are on an outdoor patio. Not ideal on a rainy night.
The food is french inspired and the specials every night a quite inspiring. None the less this is not quite like anything I have seen in France. The food was OK the service was slow and I would not go on a rainy night.

I’ve been wanting to eat here for quite a while, and when my boyfriend surprised me for dinner, I was ecstatic and not disappointed. It’s the cutest little restaurant tucked away in Buckhead. The european feel is achieved from the location, décor, all the way to the way the waiters dress (very casual– they let their food speak for themselves). Even though it is a french restaurant, it reminds me so much of being back in Ukraine, and that has my heart.
Now I don’t want to just speak of only the good from this experience, but I honestly have absolutely nothing bad to say about this place. It was such a beautiful evening. We sat on the patio outside and there were fans going to cool down the warm summer night. The waiter was extremely knowledgable about the wine menu. We trusted his recommendations and he offered something that we both loved from the Rhone rouge section (Janasse «Terre de Bussiere,» VdP, ’10). He describes it as not as sweet as pinot noir, but very sunny. It indeed is sunshine in a bottle.
We skipped the appetizers, and went for entrees and dessert. I had the salmon (Saumon à La Poêle: pan-​roasted salmon, Roquefort risotto, julienne endive, pear, saba vinegar). I have to say, this is THE best entrée I have had in my LIFE. Too much credit? No. My boyfriend had a bite and we were left speechless (and hoping to recreate this at home since I’ll be craving this haha). It’s pan roasted atop a bed of creamy risotto. Simple yet comfort food at its finest! He had the duck (Confit de Canard: duck leg confit, petit salé, French lentil ragout) and it was good, but the salmon was the winner. For dessert we shared the crème brûlée. A perfect ending to a perfect meal.
If you’re looking for a date night, this is a wonderful location. Romantic with dim lighting in the evening (but enough to see what you are dealing with on your table), candles to set the mood, and excellent service.

Anis is one of my favorite places in Atlanta. It’s one of the few places I can converse with my fellow Francophones and not feel out of place. The ambiance is perfect for any occasion, whether it be a casual drink or a formal date. Sometimes they have live music, which is a nice touch. You can sit inside or outside and it still has an intimate, classy, yet non-​posh feel. I’ve never been disappointed. The food is wonderful, the drinks list is adequate, and the service is top notch. Complimentary valet parking is convenient, but one should always tip [in my opinion].
The last time I dined here, I had the mussels (which were prepared with unabashed perfection), loud de mer, and the coconut bread pudding to finish. I couldn’t have been happier. I’m sure the apple cognac had something to do with that.
I gave it four stars based on how I rate food in comparison to other highly decorated restaurant cuisine. Unfair? Maybe. But Anis still held up well against the best. Plus, I’m a sucker for French comfort food.

Anis is a bistro that’s not really a bistro. What I mean is, their prices are far from «modest» as per definition of a bistro. However, that point aside, it’s quite a spectacular restaurant.
— CASUAL FEEL of the restaurant is really quite pleasant. It seems like a little country house inside, decorated with various artwork and pictures, some of which is rather entertaining. I’d encourage you to take a look around.
— DUCK LEG was spectacular! Very well prepared with lentils, absolutely loved it.
— ESCARGOT was also one of the best preparations I’ve ever had. They shy away from some of the classic escargot preparations in French restaurants and it wasn’t as oily as it was during the other few times that I’ve had escargot.
— WINE SELECTION is very well picked.
— FRENCH SERVERS. I have to admit, although I realize that it does not impact the authenticity of the food, it’s rather appropriate when you get a French waiter in a French restaurant.

Make reservations! We showed up at 5:30pm due to Unilocaling the place. Although we were accommodated, our presence only seemed an obligation because we were told «oh it is fine even if we are expecting 3## people for the night. But really, it is fine.»
The waiter did not make eye contact when taking our drink and food order. When we asked about the specials we were told «oh it is written on the board» — thanks.
I ordered the duck confit and I could not stop thinking about it because I smelled like it for a few hours after. It came with lentils, carrots and fennel (?). I had high expectations for this dish. My husband enjoyed his meal and a glass of wine. The patio was nice. I definitely felt the Buckhead vibe as I stared around and realized I was one of two maybe three minority patrons. If the authentic French experience included rudeness — nailed it.

Im giving this place 4 stars because of the location and ambience of the restaurant. I met up with a colleague after work for dinner. They have complimentary valet which was great because it’s in a small neighborhood. It would be really hard to find parking on your own.
The food was so-​so. I was expecting really good French food but the food came out basically in room temperature or was just warm. I ordered the escargot and the duck confet. They were good but not the best I’ve ever had. Overall, a good experience.

My husband brought me here for Valentine’s Day. At first, I wasn’t sure if I would like the place because basically the restaurant itself is so tiny and has a very «hole in the wall» type appearance and sign. Once we were inside I noticed that they set up so many makeshift tables and chairs in the covered patio to accommodate the many Valentine’s Day reservations. The nice tables and chairs were inside the very small room that is the restaurant itself.
When we sat down, we realized that it was a set menu due to the holiday. The munue included a five course meal, with 3 to 4 options within each course. For starters, they served a beat and goat cheese salad. It was really yummy. Then my husband asked for the bisque and I had the beef tartar and the salade de Roquette, both were very yummy. Then for the main course, I ordered the salmon on risotto, which had orange zest and tomatoes. My husband ordered the lobster and filet served with artichoke. The steak was AMAZING. For dessert my husband ordered the crème brûlée and I ordered the chocolate bread putting which was really good, but not the best I’ve had.
I would like to come back and try the regular menu.

Got to be one of the top three French restaurants in Atlanta. We use to go to France a lot when I was younger and the flavors at Anis take me back.
Everything is good that I’ve had. It’s just all so well done and it doesn’t have any frills because it doesn’t need it. Two of the best things were actually during (Buckhead) Restaurant Week, which never happens. I got moules frites and my mom got a salmon croque monsieur kind of thing and they were both absolutely fantastic. Perfect moules frites.
Desserts are perfectly decadent. Crème brûlée and chocolate mousse are all winners, and they’ve made some great sorbets as well.
Their Easter/​Mothers Day buffet cannot be missed. At 30 $ it’s an insane deal especially for holidays. fresh seared tuna, filet, smoked salmon, eggs/​bacon/​potatoes/​sausages, caprese, cocktail shrimp, and mini chocolate mousse if your lucky enough.
Mm getting hungry writing this review.

You can’t go wrong with the Mussels. We wanted escargot, but unfortunately they don’t serve that during lunch, but they were happy to accommodate us! Didn’t really care for anything else on the lunch menu. BUT, the flourless chocolate cake is to die for! So good!

I also tried out this restaurant during Restaurant week and opted for the RW menu. Mussels are usually $ 12 but with fries are $ 15.
As a previous reviewer commented, the RW $ 15 menu is for appetizer OR dessert, plus entrée.
I opted for the asparagus soup that was creamy but not too thick. It was a great start to begin my meal. The restaurant also serves two different kinds of bread and I only ate one kind because I don’t like hard bread or crusts.
The mussels were tender and not fishy at all. The cream sauce has an aromatic smell and flavor without being overburdened by garlic. I finished the mussels but could not finish all the fries.
I’ll give this place a 3.5 because the food wasn’t spectacular and memorable.
I sat outside in the patio since it was a gorgeous sunny day. There is shade so it didn’t get hot.
There’s complimentary valet parking. They only work off tips. If you opt out of this, there’s street parking.
The server was friendly. I didn’t expect service to be prompt even though the place wasn’t jam packed. I didn’t see a large wait staff but I feel like the wait time was appropriate.

I went here yesterday for lunch with a couple of my girlfriends. It’s currently Buckhead Restaurant Week and this place is offering a $ 15 lunch special. The prix fixe menu I found online at
was misleading because it showed that this place offered a 3 course meal for $ 15 (
). However when I got to the restaurant, it was a 2 course meal for $ 15. I was a little disappointed in this because in the end it didn’t turn out to be such a great deal.
It was around 1 pm when we dined here and the place was super busy. I had made reservations though so we were seated right away. My girlfriends and I started with the calamari for our appetizer (this was not an option on the prix fixe menu). I decided to try the moules frites for my entrée and went with the crème brûlée for dessert. The calamari came out quick which was great but the entrée and dessert kinda took awhile to come out. The calamari was good. The moules frites was good too but I prefer my mussels with bread instead of fries. The crème brûlée was ok, I’ve had better. Our server was friendly but service was a little too slow.
