Matt Porterfield, owner of Porterfield Stump and Tree, began his career as a wildland firefighter and began tree service in Athens Ga in the early 2000’s. Matt has extensive experience in tree removal, tree trimming, stump grinding, tree cabling, tree risk assessment, tree cabling and all other facets of tree service. Matt and his crew are seen everyday throughout Athens, GA driving from customer to customer, servicing the Athens area tree service needs. After helping many area residents with emergency tree services after Hurricane Sandy, Matt went into business as a tree service professional using the experienced he had gained as a wild land firefighter. Matt absolutely loves trees and provides tree services simply because he is passionate about the work he does everyday. Each day he can be seen climbing to the top of a sweet gum, or grinding a stump in Athens, or removing a fallen tree. Matt is a stickler on quality and pushes himself to deliver the best tree services in the region.
