Pep Boys

I was driving alone at night and ran over a curb. I was so scared but David and Keith HELPED me!!! They weren’t fresh or flirty but fixed my tire fast (didn’t try to take all my $$$$$) and got me back on the road safe! THANK YOU FOR BEING ANGELS TONIGHT!!!

We moved to Athens from Chicago where I originally purchased my tires with extended warrantee, one of my tires started to leak air so I decided to enact the powers of paying for an extended warranty. The pep boys in Chicago always provides exceptional service. The Athens pep boys however is forgettable and should be avoided at all costs. I called to make an appointment after retrieving the records needed for warranty service. The gentleman in Chicago I spoke with let me know that the pep boys here in Athens should have called them directly but that’s beside the point. I made an appointment for 11:30am and dropped off at 11:20am at 12:45pm of waiting I checked in to find that NO work had been done to my vehicle. This is a complete disregard for my time and unprofessional. If they told me when I walked in what he situation was I would have come back later… Not that it would have mattered because they clearly have no idea how to calculate scheduling. In the end I got out of there at 3:10 but was they made sure to compensate me for my time by charging me very little for a brand new tire. THANK YOU!

Well this place was my go to place for many years. Now it’s my place to avoid. Went in for an oil change today and was told 30 min we will get you on your way.
3 hours later i got to leave. Place was nasty. Workers could have cared less about customers needs.
Never again will I go back ***avoid at all cost***

Wait… wait…wait…wait … LONG long long long wait with very old & well known trick… get yr auto on lift & forget about it… specially when you have complimentary service!

I went into this Pep Boys after a drive to visit family. My brakes were grinding and they told me I needed to change my brake pads. After they were done, I paid $ 254 and went on my way. Less than 2 months later, I took my car into a Meineke here where I live in Texas. I needed an oil change and new air filters and told them that while they were at it to check my brakes because they were grinding. Sure enough, my rotors needed to be resurfaced. After I paid to resurface them (because I am moving out of state in 3 days and we do not have a pep boys in my town) I called the this pep boys and told them what was going on. Both managers were extremely rude to me saying they can «assure» it got done, even though the actual tech that worked on my car was not even in that day. They then went on to be condescending and saying that this was like if I bought a fridge at sears and took it to home depot and expected them to honor the sears warranty. Then told me that brake rotors can be warped by the rain in a very short amount of time. Which I live in West Texas, it DOESNT rain here. They continued to try to discredit the Meineke I took it to saying that they not only overcharged me to resurface my rotors but they may have just been trying to overcharge me by saying they did something when they didn’t. At the end they said there was nothing they could do unless I took it to another pep boys and had them assess the problem (which there wouldn’t be one because I already got the problem fixed by another company). I am not trying to bad mouth the actual «master technician» they said worked on my car. But having a family owned service company, I understand that sometimes even the people that have been there the longest make mistakes and forget to do even the most routine tasks. If this is a charge of the basic brake change like they stated, then sometimes things get overlooked when they are automatically entered in the computer. I am extremely disappointed in the customer service from this business. I am a person that knows nothing about cars, but I am also a student paying my way through college. Knowing nothing about cars, when I take it to a company like this, I expect things to be done right the first time. This was a very large, unexpected expense that I had no problem paying for until I found out the job was not done right the first time. I will NEVER be going back to another pep boys, and I would not recommend them to anyone looking for good customer service and a job done right.

Meh. Ignored while waiting at register. Then cashier seemed to care less about questions I had.
