History
Established in 1993.
John W. Reed began his career in the jewelry industry at the age of 15 years old at his hometown jewelry store, Andrews Jewelers, of Lavonia, Georgia. in 1976, John came to Athens to attend the University of Georgia and joined the staff of Foster’s Jewelers in downtown Athens. He later became part-owner of another local jewelry store, before opening JWR Jewelers in 1993.
JWR Jewelers is a member of the leading trade organizations in the industry: American Gem Society, Independent Jewelers Organization, American Gem Trade Association and Jewelers of America.
Meet the Business Owner
John R.
Business Owner
John began working in a jewelry store as a teenager and knew from the age of 16 that he wanted to make it his career. He holds a Graduate Gemologist Title from the Gemological Institute of America and is the 2010 – 2011 President of Georgia Jewelers Association.
When John is not working at JWR Jewelers, you can often find him on the golf course, cheering for the Georgia Bulldogs, or spending time with his family.
