History

Established in 1988.

Global Escapes Travel has been in business for over 20 years. In 1988, Ella Grondahl founded a small travel agency after her daughter went off to college. She eventually bought out her partners, bought the historic Athens home that houses the agency, and built what Global Escapes is now, a trusted travel company on the corner of S. Milledge & Springdale.

Tiffany Hines is Ella’s daughter, and she worked at Global Escapes all throughout college. After realizing she had a genuine talent and enthusiasm for planning leisure travel, she eventually partnered with her mother, becoming VP of Global Escapes Travel and a committed participant in the local business community. As an avid island-​hopper, and a graduate of the University of Georgia, it is Tiffany’s passion to bring professional travel consulting to the city of Athens, GA.

Business Owner

Tiffany Hines is a graduate of the University of Georgia, and a life-​long student of the every-​changing travel industry. She is a member of TAMS (Travel Agency Management Solutions), the Athens Area Chamber of Commerce, and the Athens Wedding Professionals. As a sustainer in the Junior League of Athens, she volunteers regularly for local charitable events. Tiffany has two young daughters in Oconee County schools, and a husband who loves sand, sun and surf almost as much as she does.
